Tessa Caldwell's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly, guiltily picked up the toasted bread from the plate in front of her, nonchalantly starting to spread butter on it.
She unevenly spread at least five millimeters of butter, then came to her senses and took a bite.
After eating a slice of toast, she went to get some fragrant century egg and lean pork congee.
She didn't know if it was because she was hungry or trying to cover up her guilt, but she ended up slurping down three small bowls, along with four or five pieces of toast.
Faye put down the newspaper and looked at her, "It's Saturday, you don't have to work, don't eat too much, you'll have Chinese food later."
Tessa Caldwell shamelessly laughed, "Is it a lot? I eat very little, I just had one bowl of congee and a piece of toast, oh, by the way, where did you buy this congee, it's really delicious."
Faye retorted, "Why does it have to be bought? Can't it be something I made?"
