Early morning, Tessa Caldwell woke up feeling as if her whole body had been crushed by a thousand pounds of weight. Her throat was parched, and her lips were dry and cracked.
She lay in bed for a moment before realizing she was at home. However, last night she had been out eating with her cousin Nora Harrow and had a drink, seeming to get drunk and fall asleep on the table. So how did she get back home?
She tossed off the covers and got out of bed, opened the door, and went out, then saw Faye by the dining table in the living room, reading the newspaper.
"Oh? You're back. Did you bring me home last night?"
When she gets drunk, she blacks out, vaguely remembering receiving a call from Faye last night, and he asked for the restaurant's address. So he must have brought her home. But what about her cousin?
