Tessa Caldwell helped Cian Channing back to the bedroom. Cian had been crying the whole time, his eyes were swollen, his face pale, as if he could faint at any moment.
She gently consoled him, "Lauren, don't cry anymore, or your eyes will become even more swollen…It's clear that Max really likes you!"
Cian continued to sob intermittently, and after a moment, he softly said, "You don't understand what's going on between us, and I don't know how to explain. Sis-in-law, I'm a bit tired, can I rest for a while?"
"Alright, you take a good rest."
With that, Tessa Caldwell stood up, ready to leave.
Then, she heard Cian's voice say, "Don't call Max here again. I need some peace for a while, I need to think carefully about our relationship."
"Okay!"
When it comes to emotional matters, outsiders shouldn't interfere, Tessa Caldwell thought maybe she was heartbroken.
She went downstairs and the maids told her that Max was standing outside, refusing to leave, insisting on seeing her.
