After Max left, Tessa Caldwell couldn't shake off the unease, feeling like she was overthinking it, but her thoughts kept lingering on the matter.
Her round, watery eyes darted around, and she suddenly decided to go see Lauren, bringing some food along and knocking on Lauren's door.
"Are you feeling better? I've just made some chicken soup, would you like some?" Tessa Caldwell said with a smile, placing the chicken soup on the bedside table.
Cian Channing slowly sat up, looking strained.
She mimicked Lauren, giving a gentle smile: "The soup was prepared for you, cousin-in-law, you drink it. I don't need it."
"No, I made a lot today, especially added a portion for you. You need to replenish yourself well, you're weaker than me, who just gave birth," she said while handing the soup to Cian Channing.
Cian Channing quickly took it, "Thank you, cousin-in-law."
