None of them harbored a single complaint regarding this; they sprinted straight into the tavern where they would eat dinner.
"Kapo, where the hell is Mel?"
"He isn't coming either. He won't be by your side tonight; he said you guys have to fend for yourselves!"
Completely disregarding the alternate Kapo, the Ninth Ward students couldn't conceal the shift in their expressions following what they just heard. They had been told they were only authorized to taste such beauties tonight, but the mere thought of a raid unfolding in a scenario without Mel was enough to make them severely uneasy.
"Everyone drinks soup, right?"
Their apprehension dissipated alongside the soup placed in front of them; the sight of thoroughly cooked chunks of meat bobbing up and down in the crimson broth successfully hypnotized all of them. They had to pack their stomachs first; they could fret over alternate complications when the time came.
