Moses marched rapidly past the locals eating at the tables set upon the marble walls marking the boundaries of the lake occupying the street. Mel was deeply intrigued by this setup he was witnessing for the inaugural time; the Inner Circle locals could actually eat their meals while watching the swans by the lake inside a dead-end alley twenty strides wide.
He was accustomed to eating at luxurious establishments back when he was a student at the Green Shadow Academy, but this was on an entirely different level, and he was just now discovering that this was merely the prologue. When he stepped through the massive doors—five times the size of a standard one—of the building that occupied the entire right flank of the dead-end alley, he was forced to squint his eyes.
