"That's for me to know and you to find out." Jacob King told me before stepping closer, I was rooted in place, and couldn't move away from him. I just couldn't resist the pull between us. He was close to reaching out to touch my face when I decided to shift.
[I will only tell you once, ask for consent before you reach out to me.] I growled at him. I knew that the humans would not see me, unless they were supernatural creatures, but that was beside the point. My problem was my mate, this wasn't the place to be asking for affection.
"My mate," the words sent chills down my spine then he took a breath to continue, "Do you know how much my wolf is tearing me apart inside. It takes me many ways to control him, but asking for your consent is telling my wolf you're not mine." He spoke in a gruff voice before also shifting. I was shocked to hear this from his mouth, obviously I was his, but I'm not ready.
His coat was pure black, with hints of dark blue at the tips, it was beautiful. He stood a little higher than me showing dominance however my wolf didn't lower her head. The wolf was large, I haven't seen one his size, unless myself.
His wolf looked at me and I could see what Jacob meant. There was a strong desire to have me, and my wolf felt the same, but once again I wasn't ready. I looked into the teal eye before I backed away.
[Wait! Please stay with me.] I turned around and was walking away when he spoke. His usual harsh voice was so soft and vulnerable. I took the time to shift into my human form then turned to him, fixing the dress I was wearing.
"I'm not ready for you yet, I ask that you keep your distance until I am ready. I know that this will be painful for both of our wolves, but I have other priorities. The party is in a week don't come near me until then." I walked away to the small group of people that were waiting for me, the stadium was cleared out, they were in the middle of shutting of the lights.
[My mate... doesn't want me near?] I heard him speak through the mind link as I walked to the jeep that had my father's driver, himself and Eli. As he spoke the words my wolf howled in pain to the point that I couldn't stand it. I handed my father my stuff then told them to go home, I don't know what led me to do it, but I found myself looking in the wolf's direction.
I went back to the wolf lying on the ground howling in pain. I sat down then reached out and patted his head. "Stop, you're hurting me." I whispered as he shifted back to his human form. He leaned his head on my shoulder then grasped my hand, I was okay with it for now, unlike the time in the coffee shop.
"Kenzie, I ask you to spend some time... with me tonight." He spoke calmly then picked me up, holding me in his arms. I nodded and he took my to his fancy car parked in the parking lot. He opened the door placing me gently in the passenger seat and strapping me in, like I was going to break.
"How did you find me?" I asked again as he drove out of Birmingham, going toward London. I knew we weren't staying in town, although I was interested in where we were going.
"I have many ways, but mostly I went to Ryan for a couple of things. Ever since I met you at the meeting I knew you were my mate. I then figured out you were also a lycan, a pureblood one at that. When you came back here from Manchester I had someone follow your guard, but then you went missing.
"That only means two things, it means that your scent was covered by the other's in the area, or you didn't go back home for a long period of time. That's when Ryan contacted me saying that he had someone fit my description in his care. I waited until your shifting was done before I had a note sent." I nodded as he pulled into a driveway. It was far away from city life and in rural area, not a place where I would find a CEO.
When he pulled in, he slowed down, driving carefully. I was fascinated by the scenic view on the way in, I've always wanted to come to a hidden place that was away from the normal world. It was relaxing to see all the green and the huge beautiful made cabin up ahead.
"You brought me to your house?" I asked when he parked and turned off the car. I was watching his movements as he got out and opened the passenger door. I took off my seat belt by the time he got there. As he was helping me out the car, he placed a hand atop my head to prevent me hitting the ceiling. I knew I was blushing.
"I did, because I did not want to be disturbed. Come." He took my hand and led me into the the foyer/living room. I looked around when an older man came around the corner.
"Master, shall I prepare a meal for two?" He asked while studying me, he was in his late years, he had already grey hair, but sharp green eyes. I looked at the leather coaches and the bookshelves in the living room after I got a good look at the man.
"No, I will prepare dinner. Go home Anthony." Anthony bowed his head and left the room. It was once again that Jacob grabbed my hand, with the shocking feeling between us, it was warm and fuzzy. Taking me down what felt like numerous hallways, we finally took a right entering a huge kitchen.
Looking out the window, it had a fantastic view. There was a waterfall that led to a lake, placed beside was a patio, the backdrop of the luscious green woodlands making it a rare place to see. While I was fascinated with the sight, I didn't realized he was standing right behind me.
"It's beautiful." I whispered as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Not as beautiful as you." He whispered back bringing me back to the present, I turned around and faced him, the more that I looked at him, the more younger he looked. 'who is this man?' I thought as I stared into his bright teal eyes.

"How old are you?" She asked as her soul-reading eyes watched me and studied me since she was close. I was aware that I was holding her, but I knew it was that wolf that wanted me to be near her.
"I'm seventeen, turning eighteen in seven months. Why my love?" I let the words flow out of me as I held her close. She thought about it before answering, I then let her go unwillingly to make food for both of us.
"When I first met you, you looked older, but the more that I look at you the younger you are, I'm fifteen by the way. When did you inherit the King business?" She asked coming closer to the counter. There were stools that were placed at the counter where I was preparing the meat. She took a seat in one of them, and watched me carefully.
"I haven't inherited the business it's just my father made me the head CEO, leaving me in charge of the company. Although I like being in charge, I miss my younger years of being carefree. Although that might change when I have you by my side." I spoke looking over my shoulder, after putting the meat in the frying pan. Her eyes clouded over, as she looked away, I was worried I said something wrong.
I knew she was after the Young Inc. which is why Alex reached out to me in the first place, and I will support her on her journey to get what she wants. However when I heard she was also going after the Mafia, my beast wouldn't allow it.
"Why are you so keen to go after the mafia side of business, the dark world?" I asked when I took a seat across from her. She came out of her cloud of thought before she spoke.
"It's something that needs to be done. I believe that there is something that needs to be found though that world. The more that I find out about the pure blood line, the more that is to be unfolded." She stopped and looked me into my eyes.
"My life could be in danger since the night of my first shift, the supernatural world knows my father as the pure blood wolf, their expecting one of his offspring to be one." I was scrunching my brows together at the thought, as she spoke her opinion and shook my head listening to her nonsense, my wolf growled at the thought of something or someone hurting my mate.
"Nothing will harm you, my love. I don't like the thought of you being in danger, please leave that to me." I begged her and she looked at me head on, not even giving me an answer.
