Half an year ago Ren actually had a crush on Nora so it's obvious he'd try to impress her , but Nora was the most beautiful girl in kernon so there were many others who admired her , one of them was Carlos , who was the village chiefs son . one day when Ren was buying bread and coming back home he saw Carlos teasing Nora and her friends , so he went and told Carlos if he doesn't stop he'd tell all the villager's , now normally Carlos would just do as he pleased , but if Ren spread rumours throughout the village his and his father's reputation would be ruined and he might even lose his title as village Chief and Carlos understood this so he quickly backed off and went away .
once Carlos went away , Nora smiled at him and thanked him , this of course made Ren extremely happy , he thought that he had successfully gotten closer to Nora , which he did , Nora did start liking him a little bit more , so after being thanked , Ren was running back home in high spirits , but suddenly on the road a few boys blocked his path , as Ren came to a halt , he looked at these boys properly and realized that they were from carlos's group , they were holding sticks in their hands and started walking closer to Ren , Ren wanted to run , but he was scared shitless , so he was pretty much frozen , and after a few seconds the boys were right in front of him ," come with us and we won't hurt you " said the boy in the middle calmly with a slight smirk appearing on his face . " o , okay " said Ren stuttering.

After some time of walking the boys brought Ren to a corner of the village around some bushes and trees where no one could see them . " so your here " said Carlos sitting on a rock the size of a dog while the others were standing beside him . " yeah , he didn't resist and followed us " said one of the boys that brought Ren there . afterwards one of the boys grabbed Rens left arm and threw to the ground in between Carlos and them , after which they all started to kick and step on Ren while hitting him with a stick , shouts and moans of pain coming out of Ren , trying not to fall unconscious .
after some time Ren had fainted and Carlos and his group stopped beating him up and simply dragged him to one of the walkways of kernon and ran away . After sometime Ren was found lying unconscious on the ground . and he was found to be in a coma

Back to present day , Ren was now seeing the girl he went into a coma for speaking happily with the person who beat him up , in this moment he realized that Nora who he had liked so much was actually a two face . Ren was angered and felt hate for both Carlos and Nora with every fibre of his being , honestly he hated them so much that he felt like activating his combat qi and slaughtering all of them , but after gaining Levi's memories , he had matured quite a bit and so he decided against it , he would definitely get his revenge at some point , but not right now , and so he stopped looking at them and continued moving to the bakery , when he passed by Carlos and Nora , Nora suddenly started staring at him , but Ren didn't notice and kept walking , but Nora was still staring at his back , it had been half a year since Nora last saw him , at that time he was quite slim , but now , he had six packs and looked a lot taller , this was the result of Rens training. Nora honestly didn't know what happened to Ren , she knew he was in a coma but she didn't know how his condition became like that , but she didn't really care all that much , in her eyes , Ren was just another boy that fell for her , and after realizing that Carlos was the village chiefs son , she instantly started getting closer to him , and by that time she had completely forgotten about ren . so basically she was a gold digger , and Ren realized this so now he had made up his mind to simply forget about her , and at some point get his revenge on Carlos .

Just like that a few months had passed and Ren had noticed that his qi reserves were about to reach the threshold to awaken a qi core so he immediately headed towards the forest .
beside the village of kernon resided a forest , the villager's would hunt livestock from this forest , but the deeper in the forest you go the more dangerous it gets , Ren had planned to start hunting in this forest once his qi core awakened , because then his body would be way stronger and with the boost his combat qi gave him he'd basically be almost unstoppable physique wise . He went to the forest and hid behind a few bushes , as awakening a qi core is a very delicate process whereby you need to be fully concentrated , as the slightest misstep could cripple Ren , so the last thing Ren wanted was to be attacked by some stray beast while awakening his qi core .
Ren sat down cross legged , closed his eyes and started using he's special breathing technique , he concentrated on his chest and saw that he had reached the amount of qi required to form a qi core , all the combat qi was grouped up in the shape of a sphere the size of a football . he started to use the breathing technique to produce the last bits of qi needed to start the awakening process . once the new bits of qi made contact with the sphere of combat qi , the entire thing started glowing , as it was now time to awaken the core.
There were three steps to awakening a combat qi core , namely , the qi core forming stage , body tempering stage and body reconstruction stage . In the qi core forming stage , one would compress all the qi stored in their body until it reached the size of a closed fist , at which point the core would solidify and be formed , the next stage which is the body tempering stage is considered the hardest stage , in this stage the qi core would release shockwaves made of some special energy , once the shockwave hits the body the on attempting it would feel immeasurable pain and would expell a bit of impurities strengthening the body , but if ones body is not strong enough to withstand the shockwave , there organs would burst and they'd die , and the qi core will keep generating shockwaves until all the impurities in the body are expelled . The third and final stage which is the body reconstruction stage is when a layer of an unknown substance forms above ones whole body and then cracks and falls off , this is considered the easiest stage and it signifies that the attempter has succeeded in awakening his qi core .
Ren started concentrating on his combat qi and compressed it , after compression it had gotten a little smaller but not nearly close enough to form a qi core so Ren continued the process. A few hours had past and now Ren had compressed the sphere of qi to the size of a fist but the qi core hadn't formed yet , the qi was still spilling out of the sphere , this naturally mad Ren confused but he didn't have the time to think too much about it , he quickly regained his concentration and moved all the qi that leaked from the sphere back in and continued compressing it , after almost an hour the combat qi core had been formed , but there were some differences from what he saw in Levi's memories , normally it would be the size of a fist and be white in colour , but here it was the size of a marble and it was Blue in colour , Ren thought it may have something to do with him being in a different world and that maybe this core was stronger than normal so he just continued on to the nest step.
Now that the qi core had formed successfully , he was prepared for the shockwaves , the first shockwave came out and instantly Ren felt hellish pain and also saw that a sticky , black goo was being expelled from his body once the first shockwave left the body the pain immediately stopped and Ren was alright , " I'm gonna die ", said Ren as the second shockwave hit him .
some hours had passed and all of the impurities were removed from Rens body and the body tempering stage was finished , now he noticed something forming all over his skin and he immediately knew what it was , it was the body reconstruction stage , the substance had hardened and started cracking and falling of his body .
after some time the entire layer had fell of his body and turned to dust . And his awakening had been completed. Ren breathed heavily and after sometime , he calmed down and started to check his body out . His body seemed like it was sculpted , he had six pack Abe's and he had gotten noticably taller . Next he quickly found a rock the size of a fist and picked it up , he put a little bit of force in his hand and the rock was immediately crushed and had turned into dust .
Ren was amazed at how strong his body was , honestly he was stronger then when Levi awakened his qi core . after that he decided to check his qi core , he sat down and used his special breathing technique , he saw that his qi core was the size of a marble and blue in colour . It was different from Levi's and felt stronger so he thought it was time to use his combat qi .
he already knew how to use it because Levi had decades of training under his belt and it was all transferred to Ren so all Ren needed to do was get used to it .
he activated his combat qi and an ethereal blue light enveloped Rens body . this was something Ren was not expecting , normally combat qi was white , but his was Blue , and it also multiplied his strength five folds instead of two , which made Ren want to pop out of excitement but then he saw that it was already night and so he quickly ran at full speed back to his house. his running spees was insane , he was able to move five times faster than a normal person without even using his qi. After reaching home though he got the scolding of a lifetime for coming so late an worrying everyone.
