Chapter 6 - Death of a System

Hosnian Prime

Kor sella pov

Korr Sella sat with her head in her hand as she listened to the senate argue , shout, insult and threaten each other as they have been doing for hours on end. In the past she might have been worried about projecting such obvious despair and weakness to the senate as a resistance representative.

She was sent by General Leia Organa to seek help from the republic in fighting the first order but it seemed as if all her efforts coming here was for naught. When she told the senate about the first order, which was a remnant of the empire which was defeated years ago, most senators ignored her some retorted saying that the first order might be a remnant of the empire but they have lacked a lot of military might compared to empire. And if they were to attack the republic they would be defeated again, so why should the republic spend resources to attack the first order when they haven't attacked them. Some even said that the first order were cleaning up the galaxy by capturing criminals and freeing slaves, they even bought some outer rim planets from the republic legally. So they didn't see the the first order as a threat but.. Korr Sella was angry, angry at the senates carefree attitude, and the senators that saw the first order as threat were corrupt, and were involved with criminal activity that increased their wealth and the first order was disrupting their flow of profit. But Korr Sella knew ,she knew that behind the mask of hospitality the first order was planning to dominate the galaxy just as it predecessor did, but are doing it in a more subtle way, without drawing attention to themselves and were improving their reputation with the galaxy as well. If the first order continued like this helping and building a way of life for the people, then the galaxy will never see them as the enemy.

Sometimes she felt like she should not care anymore the first order was doing what the republic should be doing and the resistance was slowly dying.

The meeting was now over, she stood up and began to make her way towards the exit and was now walking through the archway. Then she noticed that the light generated by Hosnian Prime's capital city against the night sky seemed to be increasing.

Frowning she turned and looked out of the window at the night sky. She and a rapidly growing number of people gazed at the strange phenomenon. Some people started asking questions about what is was.

Quickly. Far too quickly for anything remotely normal. The sky began to not only glow brighter . But to actually grow intensely. It was as if a small sun had appeared out of nowhere and the sun was heading right for this world she happened to be standing on. And the next instant just as her face began to gain a horrified look of realization the thing struck the planet; with enough force that the crust was penetrated and the mantle was ruptured. It was as if the planet was struck by a large meteor.

In the next instant the core experienced what was called a pocket nova.

Korr Sella wanted to cry amidst the wails of the crowd but didn't even get the chance and in that moment the planet exploded.

Han pov

The crowd of onlooker's files out from maz's castle as they turn their eyes to the red stars that have appeared in the sky and the flashes of light that match nothing that even the widest space travelers ever seen before. Desperate to identify the strange phenomenon, they chatter in dozens of different languages and dialects. But even to a person that doesn't understand single word. It would have been obvious that they were exclaiming in fear and horror.

And han was well versed in all the languages that they were using from his days as a smuggler. But even with all the strange stuff he had seen in his he could not fathom what he was seeing in the sky above takodana. It looked like a new star had been born in the galaxy. Or an existing star had gone nova.

And the fact that it was emanating from the general direction of hosnian prime also did not make his mind anymore at ease. He was a smuggler and a smuggler who wanted to live needed to know the galaxy hyper lanes and navigation maps as if they were tattooed on the inside of his eyelids. Years of study and practice had allowed him to trace roughly where most planets were in the galaxy even if he was standing on another planet in the middle of broad daylight. That was how he knew that those lights had come from the sector that housed the new republic capital.

That could not be good.

Beside him chewie clearly thought the same thing as he softly growled and stared up at the sky as well.

" It was the republic!" han and chewie turns as finn arrives, moving quickly through the crowd. He makes his way over them quickly all while looking up to the sky. " The First Order they've done it ". He says as in disbelief

In truth he could

He knew what the starkiller project was meant to do. Even an idiot could take one look at it and know what it was meant to do. And he had been stationed on the planet for almost a year while on janitorial duty.

Rey pov

Rey races through the forest and finally comes to a atop, overwhelmed and exhausted. At an emotional breaking point, she has no idea where to go, who to turn to. Then she hears a beep and turns to BB-8 catching up with her.

She did not realize that he was following her. To be honest she had not even paid attention to where she was going. She was going. She had just wanted to get away from that castle, away from that basement and above all, away from that light sabre
