"Very good!" Said Ray.
Ray grabs the orc by the face and looks into its eyes.
"You don't have to tell me anything. I'll get all the information I need. Assimilate!" Said Ray.
The orc struggles to get his head out of Ray's grasp, but to no avail; he is too weak. The orc's head turns liquid, then moves towards the rest of its body: 11%, 22%,...,88%, 100%. Assimilation is completed. The chains holding the orc fall to the ground. Clang! Ray gains 190 XP.
Ray transforms into the orc.
Hmm, interesting. There were fifteen orcs. Five found their way into the caves and went to the goblin village. The four other orcs who entered the caves appear dead, and the other ten must have returned to their town. Well, at least this orc has a name: Torac." Thought Ray.
Ray transforms back to his Changeling form and leaves the hut. He heads over to the longhouse. He sees many kobolds eating outside the longhouse, cheering and celebrating the victory. As they see Ray walking closer, they stop and bow their heads. Ray yells, "Continue celebrating!" The kobolds continue the celebration.
Prime, who is too tall to enter the longhouse, stands outside.
"Prime, stay here." Said Ray.
"Yes, Thorzen." Said Prime. (Telepathy).
Ray entered the longhouse. The kobolds inside were celebrating, and the troglodyte kids were sitting by themselves, eating their fish. Zek got up and walked towards Thorzen.
"Chief, come and eat with us." Said Zek.
As Zek reaches Thorzen, Ray says, "No, no, I only came to check up on the celebration. Besides, it's not that late, I want to head back into the cavern and assimilate." Said, Ray
"Would you like me to come with your chief?" Asked Zek.
"No. I want you to stay and get the clan ready for departure tomorrow, after the celebration. I do want you to pick a reliable kobold to accompany me. Oh, and make sure our young clan members are treated well." Said Ray.
"Yes, chief. I'll go get the kobold." Said Zek.
Zek heads over to a kobold with green scales. The green-scaled kobold looks at Zek and tells him, "The chief wants you to go with him."
The kobold looks at Ray and smiles. He gets up and heads towards Ray. The kobold arrives and bows his head.
"Chief, you want me to go with you?" Asked the green-scaled kobold.
"Yes, let's go." Said Ray.
Ray and the green-scaled kobold head out of the longhouse. Ray tells the kobold to bring a large container or sack. The green-scaled kobolds grab a big wooden container that straps to their backs.
Once they exit and get further away, Ray transforms into his kobold form. Ray stops and looks at the green-scaled kobold.
"What's your name?" Asked Ray.
"I don't have a named chief." Said the green-scaled kobold.
The kobold put his head down as he spoke.
Ray sighs. "No name, ok, from now on your name is Zel." Said Ray.
"Thank you, Chief, for giving me a name." Said Zel.
"Yeah, no problem. When we return to our village, I need to name all my clan members. It's just wrong not to have a name, " said Ray.
"Our village chief?" Asked Zel.
"Yes, I am building a village outside of the caves, " Ray said.
"All of us get to live with you in the village?" Asked Zel.
"Yes, that will be our home. We have a lot of work to do, so let's get going, " Ray said.
The kobold has a big smile on his face. Ray looks at Zel and smiles. They head towards the area where the violet fungus is growing. It takes them a few minutes to arrive at the location.
Ray points at the violet fungus. "That's the fungus I want to assimilate." Said Ray.
"That's bad, fungus will kill you." Says Zel.
"Don't worry, Zel. I'll be fine; just stand back, " Ray said.
Ray moves to the fungus and puts his hand on it. "Assimilate!" Yelled Ray. Ray starts to take damage from the violet fungus—18 pts of damage. Ray concentrates on assimilation: 10%, 20%. Ray brings 10 pts of damage. 30%, 40%. 10 pts of damage. 50%, 60%. 10 pts of damage. 70%, 80%. 10 pts of damage. 90%,100%. Assimilation completed.

Rotting touch: causes rotting damage on hit, 18 damage—dot 10 damage per second for 10 seconds.
"Damn, I took 68 pts of damage that was dangerous but worth it." Said Ray.
"Chief, you ok?" Asked Zel.
"Yes, I'm fine, Zel." Said Ray.
Zel nods his head.
"Ok, Zel is careful with the violet fungus around here. I want you to gather the blue moss on the boulders. But don't take all of the blue moss off; we want the blue moss to grow back, " said Ray.
"Ok, chief." Said Zel.
Zel worked diligently to gather blue moss and place it in the container. Ray assimilated more violet fungus, iron, copper, and stone. When Ray ran out of assimilation capacity, they would rest for an hour, then continue. They worked for 8 hours. After assimilating for hours, Ray returns to the kobold base. Ray accumulated 500 XP after assimilating 10 violet fungi.
After returning to the kobold base, Ray notices that it's a lot quieter.
"Let's take the moss to the longhouse," Ray tells Zel.
When they arrive at the longhouse, Prime is still standing near the door. Prime heads over to Ray.
"Thorzen, most of the kobolds are asleep, " Prime said (Telepathy).
"Zel, leave the moss with Prime." Said Ray.
"Yes, chief." Said Zel.
Ray and Zel enter the longhouse.
He sees Zek speaking to a few other kobolds, and the troglodyte kids are sleeping on the floor near a corner. Zek gets up and greets Thorzen. "Welcome back, chief." The other kobolds get up and bow.
"Sit everybody." Said Ray. Ray grabs a seat and sits next to Zek.
"Zel, grab a seat."Said Ray.
Zel grabs a seat and sits on Ray's other side.
"So what are you talking about?" Asked Ray.
"Chief, we are talking about the move tomorrow." Said Zek.
"Ahh, yes. We will be busy tomorrow. We have to build at least one barracks and some houses. We have a lot of work to do. Let's get some rest, and then we will be ready to move, " said Thorzen.
Thorzen gets up. All the kobolds get up, bow their heads, and respond with "yes, chief."
Thorzen heads out of the longhouse. He stops and looks at Prime. "Guard us well, Prime." Said Ray. (Telepathy).
"Yes, Thorzen, I won't fail you, " said Prime (Telepathy). Thorzen heads to the chief's hut and goes to sleep.
