Hey Everyone, Novaflame6_Badal here again. I hope everyone enjoyed last chapter, it took awhile to write and I wanted to keep as close in line with the Rwby cannon story as I could. Keeping that in mind when writing this story makes writing chapters extremely difficult for me lol.
Keep in mind that after volume 3, the story will deviate abit, but I'll do my best to include the major elements and story related events from the cannon rwby story. Following the fall of Beacon, I'm going to release a poll concerning future development betwe- you know, nevermind I'll just ask you guys what you think in a poll.
This will be a two parter and it may be shorter as it takes place in between episodes of volume 2. These next two chapter take place in between the end of episode 2 and the beginning of episode 3 of Volume 2. So this two parter is before volume 2 episode 3: A Minor Hiccup, but after the events of last chapter.

Chapter 9: Ruby's Complicated Feelings
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Ruby P.o.v.
I got up early the next morning, dressed in my training clothes. It was embarrassing to admit, but I didn't sleep great the night before. Despite my best efforts to, I was still remembering what happened in the library between myself and Nova. But just as I would begin to be down on myself, I'd... remember Nova's smile towards me as he told me that what happened wasn't my fault at all.
A strange feeling had been welling up inside me whenever I thought of Nova. My chest felt... tight. It was like someone was squeezing my chest from the inside, but it wasn't painful. It was just.. I don't know, odd. Why was I feeling this way?
"Nova and I are just best friends, there's nothing going on between us.," Ruby said to herself.
That being the case, why.... WHY couldn't I stop thinking about Nova?! And it wasn't just thoughts about him specifically... it was more about my mind was going places I never wanted it to. I was thinking about scenarios with Nova that i never wanted to!
Not only that... but, ever since the incident yesterday... I'd been having these strange thoughts about my friend that I would normally never have! Ruby shook her head profusely in order get her mind off of such things. Recollecting myself, I head towards the same forest where Nova had been meeting me to train for the past few weeks. He'd been instructing me in martial arts since the fight at the docks last semester, about 3 weeks ago.
I knew that I had only a little while until the others awoke from their sleep to train. I'd have to make the most of training today, due to the short amount of time each of us had. I arrived in the forest, at the normal time only to see Nova talking with.... professor Koizumi oddly enough.
He seemed to not notice me as I decided to hide behind a tree nearby. I listened in on their conversation.
"If there's any time you have coming up, I can help you with a few things.," Tarro said.
"I appreciate the help, teach- I mean professor!,"Nova said correcting himself.
Tarro chuckled at this and just waved it off with a smile.
"There's no need to be so formal with me, Belladonna. You can call me whatever feels comfortable to you.," he said.
I saw Nova nod at this and relax quite abit. He spoke up again.
"Say.... teach?," Nova asked.
Tarro turned around and looked at him again.
"What is it, Belladonna?," Tarro asked.
"Can you.. help me with my tail?," Nova asked.
Tarro raised a curious eyebrow at this. Had he not trained his tail at all?
Even I was curious about that. But then I remembered seeing a furry black tail moving behind Nova at times. I always had wanted to touch it just once to see how soft it was...
" Gah, no! Bad! I know you want to feel how soft his tail is- gah! No! no! no! no! no! no! no! You shouldn't be thinking about stuff like that, ruby!," I told myself just quietly enough for them to avoid hearing me.
I shook my head to try and rid the thoughts of feeling Nova's tail. Once I did, I noticed professor Koizumi walking off as if the two were done speaking. Pondering what I should do, I still hid. That was until Nova spoke up, grabbing my attention.
Nova sighed and spoke up.
"You know you can come out now, Ruby. I know you're there.," Nova said with his back turned.
I froze at this. Had he known I was listening to their conversation the whole time? And if he did know, why didn't he say anything?!
Knowing it was pointless to avoid the issue, I made my way from behind the tree and walked up to him.
*end p.o.v*
Ruby awkwardly came out from behind the tree she was hiding behind and nervously walked up to Nova.
"H-Hey Nova. So uh... h-how long did you know I was there?," Ruby awkwardly asked.
Nova raised an eyebrow at this before answering. He'd never seen this behavior from Ruby before, it was quite unexpected for him to see her like this.
"I knew you were there the whole time. Why do you ask?," Nova said slightly confused.
Ruby's shoulders sank at this. Nova's answer seemed to bum her out for some reason.
"😨 O-Oh. I see then.," She replied having blue lines down the side of her face.
Nova raised an eyebrow again at this. It was.. odd, seeing Ruby act like this.
"Is.. something wrong, Ruby?," He asked curious.
"W-Wrong? No no! Nothing's wrong... I just realized I made kind of an idiot of myself... don't mind me.," Ruby said with a litteral dark cloud over her head.
Nova scratched the back of his head before speaking again. He had to get Ruby to perk up again. Even if it was for a silly reason, he didn't like seeing Ruby upset for whatever reason.
"Look Ruby... I'm sorry if what I said embarrassed you, just don't be upset please. I get anxious when you're upset.," Nova said.
Ruby lifted her head as she looked at Nova. He placed his hand atop her head as he gently ruffled her hair. Ruby recovered as she began to cutely pout at this, feeling like she was being treated as though she were a little kid.
She giggled at seeing Nova squirm to get her to not be upset with him. It was sweet of him to do that. Ruby couldn't stay mad at Nova, he was too kind and sweet of a person to have a grudge against.
Seeing that she was ready now, Nova slipped into a martial arts stance. Recognizing what he was doing, Ruby smirked before slipping into her own martial arts stance. The two rocketed off towards each other as their sparring session began.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Meanwhile...
The rest of Nova's team was already up and about when they spotted Blake, Weiss, and Yang. That.. was kinda weird though, the three of them normally weren't up anywhere near this early. What could they be up to?
Aiko and Scarlett hid behind the corner of a building, while Daikon and Turuk just leaned against it. It looked like they were heading towards the forest.
"Or.. not?," Scarlett said as the four suddenly turned into a cafe.
The four from Nova's team decided to walk up to them and see what they were up to. As they walked into the cafe, they noticed they weren't the only students there. Team JNPR was here for some reason, and so was Team CVFY. Walking up to the girls table, Scarlett spoke up.
"Yo.," She said catching the attention of the three girls.
The other three members of team Rwby turned their heads and were pleasantly surprised to see Scarlett, Aiko, Turuk, and Daikon there.
"Oh hey you guys. What are you doing here?," Yang asked.
"We were j-just around.," Aiko said.
Aiko had gotten more used to people, but she was still a little nervous talking to people other than the ones on her own team.
"We saw you guys come to the cafe, so we figured we'd say hi.," Turuk said.
"I see. You four haven't seen Ruby around, have you?," Blake asked.
The four raised an eyebrow at this confused. That was odd.. wouldn't Ruby normally be with them?
"Funny, we were going to ask you if you've seen Nova anywhere. I've been trying to get a hold of him through our scrolls, but he hasn't picked up or even answered in any way.," Scarlett answered.
The group was sat down at a table near Team CVFY, who just happened to overhear their conversation. Each one of the remaining girls from Rwby had ordered tea, taking sparing sips of it as they talked.
"We haven't been able to reach the captain at all.," Aiko said.
"I'm sorry, who?," Yang asked raising a curious eyebrow.
Turuk took the opportunity to explain the reasoning behind the term.
"That's just what she calls my brother. Aiko here, she doesn't feel comfortable using his name. It's a little scary for her apparently.," Turuk explained.
Yang just gave him a look before responding.
"That's.. fair I guess? 😅," Yang said.
The blonde paused and allowed Weiss to speak this time.
"You said your brother was missing as well?," Weiss asked.
Turuk nodded in confirmation.
"And... at the same time that Ruby's gone missing?," Weiss asked.
Everyone nodded to confirm. Weiss then began to form a theory about where both of the teams leaders could be. It was just... a little too much of a coincidence that both Nova and Ruby were missing at the same time. As Weiss thought about this more, she wondered and began to think of one possibility.
"Perhaps I am reading into this too much, but... could it be possible that Nova and Ruby are together right now?," Weiss asked.
Blake took the turn to speak, voicing her thoughts on this.
"Weiss could be onto something. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if those two were together right now.," Blake reasoned.
" I think Weiss is right. I have noticed Nova and Ruby seemed to be disappearing at the same exact time alot recently.," Scarlett said.
Daikon said nothing. The reason he said nothing is because he knew what they were up to. To spoil the surprise wouldn't be any fun though. It'd be more fun to let them found out on their own.
"Ok, then let's go look for them.," Yang said standing up from her chair.
"What, do you mean to look for them right now?!," Weiss asked.
Yang nodded, but also had a mischievous idea. She would split the group to go look for their two leaders, but she would do it in such a way that the heiress would end up with the person she least wanted to spend time with. In this case, that would be Daikon. In her mind, they would conveniently be sent into Vale... by themselves to go look for Nova and Ruby.
Although they argued and teased each other alot, Yang thought they could take the opportunity to get to know each other better. She was essentially forcing them into a "blind" date of sorts with each other. The blonde snickered as she was splitting the group into groups of two.
"Cool. So Scarlett and Aiko, you two check by the school grounds.," Yang said.
Just as she said this, two more groups came over. They were teams JNPR and CVFY. They also wanted to help after being told the situation.
Yang cleared her throat.
"Ok, new plan. Yatsuhashi, Scarlett, Aiko, and... Fox you four go search by the landing for bullheads at the front of Beacon.," She said.
The group of four nodded before walking off in the direction they were told.
"Coco, Velvet, and Blake. You check near where the the festival will be on campus. They may have gone there.," Yang said.
The three girls nodded before taking off in their assigned direction. Since team JNPR were always together, Yang just had them stick together. That left... Daikon, Weiss, herself, and Turuk.
The blonde smirked, at this. She spoke up as she suggested the final two groups.
"Weiss, I'll go with Turuk here. We'll search by the gymnasium. Why don't you and Daikon go into Vale to search for Nova and Ruby?," Yang suggested.
Weiss knew what Yang was attempting to do and she wasn't having it.
"No way! Why do I have to go with this - huh? Yang?," Weiss started, but couldn't finish.
When she turned to there was only a blinking yellow outline where Yang was supposed to be standing. She had ditched her before she could even finish her complaint!
"💢 How dare she! This is the worst!," Weiss complained.
"🤦♂️ Of course she ditched us... She was just waiting for the opportunity to.," Daikon thought to himself.
Weiss was fuming when Daikon placed a hand on the heiress' shoulder briefly. He sighed as he spoke.
"Come on princess, we just have to make the best of it.," Daikon said.
Weiss turned on him, her face angered. But she knew he was right, this caused her to relent. Although she didn't like the fact she was with Daikon, they were stuck together for now. Daikon removed his hand as he walked ahead of Weiss, letting her stew at her situation for a few more minutes.
Weiss then walked after him, deciding that it would be best to just get this over with.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Back with Nova and Ruby, they were continuing to zip around the forest using their martial arts to spar with each other. Over the last 3 weeks, Nova had been impressed with how much Ruby had improved.
While it was slow at first, once she got the hang of it.. she drastically improved. Ruby could now handle more than 50 pounds. She had surpassed more than half of her dust weapon's weight in her weighted clothing. One thing Ruby had noticed was that, the more she trained, the more she was becoming built like her sister. You couldn't tell right away, but Yang was very strong for girl her age. And that was a result of years full of training for her.
Ruby was matching that in just a few short weeks though. The two both threw a punch that clashed against each other before Nova broke off the contact. They both smiled at each other.
"Good. I think that'll be enough martial arts for today though.," Nova said.
"Aw, really? I kinda wanted to learn some more.," Ruby said slightly disappointed.
"We'll go over more of that as we continue your training. I think you're ready now.," Nova said.
This confused Ruby as she tilted her head in confusion. What was she ready for? However she knew Nova was about to explain what he meant by that statement, so she listened.
"Ready? Ready for what?," Ruby asked.
Had she completely forgotten? Nova internally sighed at this. It seemed like he was just going to have to remind her again why they've done nothing but train in martial arts for nearly the past month.
"I think you're ready to learn how to use energy now. Of course professor Koizumi, Miss S., and Mr. R. all call it Ki though.," Nova said.
A look of realization crossed Ruby's face as her eyes lit up and had stars in them. She couldn't wait to learn how to use ki. The two sat down cross legged as Nova instructed Ruby on how to bring out her Ki.
"Now to bring out your Ki, you have to close your eyes. Cut off your brain from taking in any surrounding noise or voices other than my own.," Nova said before continuing to explain.
Ruby looked at her hands and then closed her eyes. She inhaled softly and then exhaled to calm herself down.
Nova smiled at this, Ruby was a fast learner. It was certainly looking like training her how to use ki and helping with her martial arts, was going to be a worthwhile experience.
"Search deep within yourself. Once you feel a pull, that is your ki.," Nova said.
Ruby nodded, but then had a question.
"Um, how do I know when I've found my Ki though? What does it feel like?," She asked.
"Ki is similar to your Aura, but it's more powerful. It'll feel like a small sun that's inside of you.," Nova replied.
"Ok. Feels like a small Sun inside of me... ," Ruby told herself.
Nova watched her. He noticed that the girl was straining her muscles too much, no way was she going to pull out her Ki that way. He put a hand on her shoulder so she could feel it. Ruby felt Nova's hand on her shoulder and knew he was going to say something.
"Relax Ruby. You're too tense. Just relax your muscles. Don't try and force it out, feel for your ki. Relax, calm yourself, and just feel for it. Once you've found it, the Ki will wash over your body like a wave of water.," Nova told her.
"Ok Nova, I'll try.," Ruby said.
"Atta girl. Just do your best and don't rush it. Drawing out your Ki is a process, especially if you're just using it for the first time.," Nova said.
Ruby felt hot for some reason when she sensed Nova really close to her. She wasn't sure what that was about, she'd figure it out later.
The raven black and red haired girl did exactly as Nova told her to. She relaxed her muscles and just allowed her senses to to search for what Nova described to her. It took many, many tries, but she finally located what she was searching for. The energy she felt... it was... bright and warm like he said. She just calmly pulled it from deep within to what she felt like was the surface of her being.
Once she opened her eyes, she smiled. There, in the space between her hands was a small ball of blue light.
"I..I Did it!! Nova, look!," Ruby said beaming.
The dark saiyan smiled brightly at the girl, he was happy for her.
"I see, Ruby. That's great.," Nova said smiling.
He noticed Ruby starting to fall over and caught her before she could hit the ground.
"Careful, Ruby.,"Nova said gently chiding her.
Ruby suddenly felt like she was out of breath and tired. That was strange. The energy or "Ki" she felt inside of her was much larger than what she just produced. Why was she so drained then?
"Huh? Why am I so tired all of a sudden?,"Ruby asked confused.
"This was your first time using ki, Ruby. So, it's only natural that your body would feel tired after using an energy source it's not used to yet. The more you practice with it, the more your ki will increase and grow.," Nova explained.
Ruby looked up at Nova as her head was resting in one of his hands, while the rest of her body was being held up and supported by his other hand.
"The more I practice using my Ki, the more it'll grow?," Ruby asked.
"Yeah. Ki is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.,"Nova explained.
Ruby understood now, that's why she was so tired all of a sudden. It was soon after this, she noticed the position the two of them were in. She wanted to move, but fell into a trance as her face was flushed red. The reason for her trance was due to her noticing Nova's lips.
"Ruby? Are you oka-?!,"Nova cut himself off as he also noticed their rather familiar position.
He felt his face turn red as well at this. He wanted to move, but it was like he fell into a trance as well. Despite both of Nova and Ruby's minds screaming at them to move away from each other, they couldn't for some reason. What made it worse was the fact that both of them could feel their faces moving closer to each other.
"Nova..."Ruby said in a trance.
"Ruby...", Nova said back to her.
Their faces were dangerously close to each other now. But just before anything else happened, both of their scrolls alarms went off. The sudden noise snapped both of them out of whatever trance they were in and made them aware of their proximity to each other. Both of their faces flushed a deep scarlet as they quickly freed themselves from each other.
"I-I'm so sorry Ruby! I never meant to put you in that sort of situation.," Nova apologized.
Ruby was blushing, but she understood that Nova was sincere in his apology. She didn't blame her for that, it was kinda both of their fault.
"N-No i-it's f-fine Nova! We're both at fault here...,"Ruby stammered before continuing.
A-Anyways, w-we should get back. The others have to be really worried about us by now.," Ruby suggested still red in the face.
Nova nodded and cleared his throat. He held a hand out, helping Ruby to her feet as the girl accepted the offered hand. They began to walk back towards the other as they began to talk along the way.
Ruby looked towards Nova.
"S-Same time n-next time?," Ruby asked stammering nervously.
Nova smiled. He was gald Ruby was enjoying her lessons with him.
"Yeah. That actually works out perfect for me. I have some extra lessons with teac- i mean professor koizumi that I'll be busy with for the next few days. Turuk is apparently part of them too for some odd reason.," Nova said.
Ruby was a little disappointed at this, but she understood. She'd just have to train by herself for a few days until Nova had some more time. She smiled at him.
"I understand, Nova. Just make sure we have at least a little time in between, okay? I really want to learn how to fly like you and the others do.," Ruby said.
Nova nodded.
"Yeah, i will. How about... we train for abit during lunch each day?," Nova suggested.
Ruby nodded in agreement. that could work. It was before professor koizumi's classes, and just after the two of them finished their lunch.
"Yeah! Sounds like a plan.," Ruby said excitedly.
They both shook on it to seal the agreement between them. The two friends continued to talk as they walked before noticing they'd come to a spot where they had to part ways temporarily. Unbeknownst to them, Sun and Neptune just so happened to be nearby when they saw the two of them together.
They both hid behind a building nearby, so as to not be noticed. Neptune looked to Sun with an odd look on his face.
"{whispering}Why are we hiding?",Neptune asked.
"Shh!,"Sun said shushing the blue ahired teen. "You want to know what those two are doing together, don't you?," Sun asked.
Neptune nodded.
"Well, alright then.," Sun said as the two teens listened.
Ruby looked towards Nova as the two of them smiled at each other before going their separate ways.
"I'll see you later then, Nova.," Ruby said waving farewell.
Nova smiled and then waved back at her. Ruby started to walk away before pausing and running back towards Nova. What the red head did next, thoroughly confused the dark teen.
Ruby hugged him and then for some reason, kissed him on the cheek. She smiled at Nova before suddenly sprinting away, embarrassed. It was almost as if the reality of what she just did hit her like a ton of bricks.
Nova stood there, wide eyed and holding his cheek in disbelief of what just happened.
"Ooook? I was... not expecting that ... from Ruby of all people.," Nova mused aloud to himself.
He then shrugged.
"🤷♂️ eh. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. No sense in worrying about it.," Nova said shrugging.
The dark teen then walked off on his own, heading back towards his team.
Sun and Neptune then came out from hiding, once they were sure Nova left.
The two of them were just as confused about what took place between Nova and Ruby as they themselves were.
"I don't want to be that person, but shouldn't we tell the others what just happened?," Neptune asked.
Sun shook his head. He could tell Ruby was embarrassed by it when she ran off.. So she probably preferred that news of what happened mere moments ago, was never mentioned.
"Nah.," Sun said.
"Why not? The others are looking for the two of them and would want to know what happened, wouldn't they?," Neptune asked.
"You saw Ruby's reaction to what happened. I don't think she'd appreciate having an embarrassing moment of hers revealed to her friends when she's not around.," Sun reasoned.
Neptune sighed.
"I guess you... have a point there. We should at least tell them we saw them together though.," Neptune replied.
Sun nodded, he could see logic in that. He and Neptune then went towards one of the teams of other teens to relay to then that they'd found Nova and Ruby. Sun raised an eyebrow when thinking about this.
"Wait a minute... how did Neptune even know everyone was looking for Nova and Ruby? I certainly didn't until he said something about it. Ah well, guess I can ask the others about it.," Sun thought to himself.

With Daikon and Weiss...
The heiress and the black haired teen had searched throughout Vale for a good portion of the afternoon. After speaking with many shop owners and citizens who walked the streets, they had come up empty. Weiss was beginning to think they were sent on a wild goose chase by Yang.
"I'm beginning to think Yang purposely wanted us to be in a group together, instead of actually searching for Ruby and Nova.," Weiss said.
"Can't say I disagree with you, princess. Yang did look awfully eager to go with Turuk. *chuckles lightly* Poor Turuk has no idea what he's in for.," Daikon said.
Weiss blushed madly at him again. He kept calling her princess, but was purposely using it as an insult to get under her skin.
"Why do you keep calling me that? I'll have you know, I have a proper name. And it is Weiss Shnee, it is not this.. "princess" you keep calling me!," Weiss huffed at him.
"Oh? And what will you do if i don't feel like calling you by your name, eh Shnee?," Daikon replied smugly.
"Ooh, you and that tone of yours! Just stay out of the way, I will.find Ruby on my own.," Weiss said angrily.
Daikon just shrugged before following Weiss, who'd walked ahead. The two continued to search, having no luck in doing so.
Weiss was getting frustrated. This was the worst situation she had been in. She couldn't find Ruby because she was nowhere to be found, and she was with probably the most annoying person that she'd ever met before. While he was ... handsome in a matter of speaking, the way he teased her was just the worst.
While Daikon wasn't a bad person, she always seemed to be arguing with him about something. It sure seemed like he enjoyed teasing her for whatever reason. Oddly enough though, she understood him better when they argued.
Walking through Vale some more, they did come across one clue. A child had told them she saw a teen matching the description of Nova walking with a girl with a red hood a little while ago.
"Thank you very much.," Weiss said.
The young boy just stared at the two of them for a few moments before speaking again.
"Hey, lady?," the boy asked.
"Yes? Can we do something for you?," Weiss asked politely.
Daikon had to hold in a fit of snorting and laughter at this. The Weiss he knew was never this proper and polite to people. Weiss glared at him, recognizing he was silently snickering at her.
"Is that guy behind you your boyfriend?," the boy asked.
Weiss' eyes widened and she felt her face become heated at what the boy was suggesting. She attempted to persuade the boy, this was not the case. Only for Daikon to come in and roll with what the boy was asking.
"W-What?! N-No he's not my boyfriend! I could never consider someone as rude as that boy over there to be one I have romantic interest in.," Weiss tried saying but was stuttering with a red face.
"Then why are you two together then?," the boy asked confused.
"W-Well that's-," Weiss started but was interrupted by Daikon.
"You're pretty sharp there, kid. The princess here is just too embarrassed to admit it. We can't exactly go public with it yet, due to her father's um... ahem.. questionable personality. Just don't go spreading this around, we haven't made it official yet.," Daikon said.
The boy smiled.
"Oh. I understand. If you want to find your friends, I think I saw them go that way earlier. ," the boy said pointing towards the school.
"Thanks alot, kid.," Daikon said kneeling to his level and giving him a fist bump.
The boy nodded and then ran off towards a group of other kids who were waiting for him.
Weiss glared at Daikon for the stunt he pulled. She was appalled what he he suggested, though it was obvious he said all that to tease her again.
"Ugh, you-! You're the worst! Me and you?! I'd rather go out with an animal than you.," Weiss said angered.
Daikon smirked at her, drawing her ire.
"I know you don't mean that, shnee. You're embarrassed aren't you? That's cute in a way.," Daikon said smirking.
Weiss blushed madly again at him and walked off ahead of him.
"Heh. You want me princess, you just don't know it yet.," Daikon said smugly.
"As if! Can't believe I got stuck with you of all people.," Weiss huffed.
Since they were in town, Weiss figured she may as well get some tea to calm.her nerves. Anything was better than dwelling on the fact that she had been paired with the worst person possible.
Daikon smirked. He could tell Weiss acted slightly out of character for a few moments. The snooty rich girl who got everything she wanted was going to have to learn that not everything was handed to her on a silver platter. Though, he did admit one thing. Weiss was... different than most Shnee family members were. She actually was trying to put in the work towards something.
That was more than he could say about the rest of the shnee family. He never liked the shnee family to begin with, he was starting to like Weiss though. It was never boring when she was around. Plus, her expressions towards his constant teasing were always very amusing to witness.
He followed the heiress into the cafe, maybe they could relax and approach their search with a fresh mind after some tea.
____________________________________________________________________________
Aiko and Fox began searching for any clue the could find near the landing in front of the school. Since Fox was blind, he primarily used his sense of hearing and touch to search for any clues.
Aiko helped him out by using her tracking abilities to cover for his blindness.
Meanwhile, Scarlett and Yatsuhashi began searching together as well.
"Having you here helps alot Yatsu, thanks.," Scarlett told him.
"You're welcome.," He said.
He still didn't quite get why this girl talked to him. As a person, he wasn't all that interesting. Yatsuhashi wasn't sure what to really talk about with Scarlett, she was so much different than anyone he'd met before now.
"You don't talk much, do you?," Scarlett asked curious.
Yatsuhashi shook his head no to answer her question. He just didn't feel as though he needed to speak much. In his mind, actions spoke louder than words. When he did speak, he chose his words carefully.
"I can understand your point. But, it is kinda sad that you don't talk much. I certainly wouldn't mind if you spoke what you were truly thinking and feeling more often.," Scarlett said.
Yatsuhashi thought about what Scarlett said. Perhaps he would consider speaking his mind more, if only to talk her. She was probably the most interesting person he'd met at the school so far. And oddly enough, he found that he actually wanted to speak more often, since meeting her. That said, he wasn't the best at conveying his true feelings verbally.
In time, he was sure that he would learn to communicate verbally better though. As they continued to ask students around where they searched, Scarlett suddenly asked Yatsuhashi what seemed to be a rather odd question.
"So tell me,Yatsu.. You rely on the use of your sword alot, yes?," Scarlett asked.
Yatsuhashi raised an eyebrow at this. It seemed like a really random question to ask, but he indulged her curiosity anyways. He simply nodded.
" *sighs* Yatsu I told you, use your words not just nod. You're going to have to get used to speaking to people if you intend to be a Huntsman.," Scarlett said.
The teen paused and realized that Scarlett was right, he was going to need to speak more often. Taking a breath, he responded in the way that seemed best at the moment.
"Yes, I do. Is there a reason you ask, Scarlett?," Yatsuhashi replied.
Scarlett thought for a moment, almost as if she was thinking of how to respond. Once she arrived at an answer in her head, she spoke in response to the teen's question.
"You... could say that. Your dust weapon looks like it could hamper your speed. I could be wrong about this though.," Scarlett said.
She then continued with her thought process.
"Why don't the two of us pair up in Professor Koizumi's class next time? There's something I've been curious about concerning your fighting style.," She suggested.
"I would.. appreciate that, miss- I mean Scarlett.," Yatsuhashi answered.
Scarlett smiled at this. Yatsuhashi wasn't the best at communicating his thoughts, but.. he was making an effort to become better, at least.
"That wasn't so hard, was it Yatsu?," She said.
"No. It.. was not.," Yatsuhashi answered with a smile.
Aiko smiled at seeing her sister and Yatsuhashi getting along like they were. The four then continued their search for Nova and Ruby until Scarlett finally received a response from Nova.

Yang and Turuk looked around the school grounds for any sign of Nova or Ruby. They weren't having any luck finding either of them. Turuk had already picked up on Nova's ki though, he knew where he was going.
He wanted to go right to his brother, but he had a gut feeling Yang wouldn't let him leave so easily. Turuk had the sneaking suspicion that Yang was only using looking for her sister and Nova as an excuse to be alone with him.
He did say he would make it up to her for upsetting her the other day, but her idea of that... would probably be something a little more involved. While he looked tirelessly for Ruby and Nova, he felt the blonde's eyes watching him. They weren't so much watching him as they were his muscles. Turuk never knew how to act around Yang though, she was far more... "forward" than anyone he'd met so far.
As they were about to head back for the day due to time, Yang suddenly pulled him behind a building for some reason. He was confused as to why until he saw the reason for her doing so. Blake was seen heading back to their dorm room, alone. The teen understood why now, yang didn't want Blake to see that she was alone with her brother. After Blake walked past, he heard Yang sigh in relief.
He raised an eyebrow at this. That was kind of a curious reaction for Yang to have. Why didn't she want Blake to see that she was with her brother all alone? Turuk looked down at the blonde, noticing how close she was to him. She was uncomfortably close to him, practically pressing him against the side of the building they were behind.
Turuk of course had the same reaction any normal guy would have in that situation. He noticed that his face was becoming heated due to Yang basically pressing herself up against him.
"U.. Umm... Yang?," He said awkwardly.
This got her attention as she looked at him. She was clueless as to what she was doing until the teen brought it up.
"What's up?," She asked.
"Not that I don't appreciate you hiding me from my sis, but uhh... you're a little.. ahem.. too close there.," Turuk said awkwardly.
Yang looked down and then back at him before she smirked.
"😏 oh? I can get closer if you want~," She said seductively.
"😅 N.. No that's okay. I think I'm good. ," Turuk said nervously trying to squirm away from Yang.
"😏 you sure? You said you'd make it up to me for making me mad the other day, didn't you? Well? Here's your chance, stud muffin~," Yang said further teasing him and inching closer to him.
"😅 😅u-uh... I didn't mean like this though. Kinda had something more "normal" in mind.," Turuk said still backing away from the blonde.
Yang then snorts and laughs at Turuk. He was just far too easy for her to tease. She pulled away from him and smirked.
"Relax, Turuk. I was only kidding there. It looks like Rubes just finished whatever her business was and wants to meet up.," Yang said. "Although..." Yang trailed off.
"Although what?," Turuk asked still unsure of how to react to Yang's antics.
"😏 We can pick up where we left off if you want to later..," Yang said smirking.
"😅 I'm.... okay for now. I'll let you- wait... you're not serious are you?," Turuk replied nervous and slightly sweating.
"I'll let you be the judge of that. Who knows? Maybe I wasn't... or... Maybe I was? 😏," Yang replied.
Yang then walked abit ahead of him, leaving Turuk to his thoughts.
"I swear.. I never know what that girl is thinking.. And.. did she call me Stud Muffin? 😅," Turuk thought.
He decided to catch up to her. The whole time, he had an eerie chill run up his spine at the thought of what Yang told him being true. The teen never knew how he would respond to Yang if that was the case.
The blonde was attractive enough, he just.. wasn't sure he felt or even thought of her in that way. Of course, he wouldn't discount this being all part of an elaborate prank by Yang, just to see how he'd react. That certainly sounded like something Yang would do. Shaking his head, he followed Yang as they went to meet up with Ruby.

Nova was making his way back towards his team's dorm room when he saw something rather... peculiar. He had messaged the other members of his team to come meet him in Vale when they had the chance to.
He made sure to not draw attention to himself as he was trying to process what he was seeing. There, sitting at a cafe table were Daikon and Weiss. Nova raised an eyebrow at this, he certainly wasn't expecting to see those two together. As far as he'd been able to tell, Daikon and Weiss were about as opposite as two people could get.
Daikon was stoic and called things how he saw it, not caring what others thought of him. Because of this, he came off as very unapproachable by most of the student body. You more likely to be rubbed the wrong way from talking to him than becoming friends with him. That said, Daikon did have a circle of people he considered to be his real friends.
Weiss on the other hand, she came off as a typical rich girl. She was seen as someone who got whatever she wanted, all her life. During her time here though, she had been shown you had to put in the effort to get what you wanted. No one was going to do the work for you. She retained alot of the personality she grew up with, she was still entitled, but not nearly as arrogant. This was especially true after meeting Daikon.
The two of them butted heads on more than one occasion almost regularly, it became sort of a staple on their relationship so far. They did respect each other to a certain extent, but they were both too prideful to admit that fact to each other. In Weiss' mind, Daikon certainly was a very handsome young man, there was no denying that fact. His attitude however, it was an acquired taste. It would take a very special person to put up with the type of person Daikon was.
Although, thinking about it... Even if the two of them were to find common ground and grow closer to each other, her... father would never allow such a bond to progress. This was due to one simple reason. Daikon... was a faunus. Weiss knew that her father absolutely despised the Faunus. It didn't matter how nice of people they were to him, he legitimately hated them. Of course, if Daikon were to hear that, Weiss knew what he would say.
He'd say: "Who cares what your father thinks of me. I'll just as soon show that arrogant father of yours that I'm not like any faunus he's ever met before! "
She chuckled a little at the thought of him saying that to her father, simply because that would be such a 'Daikon' thing to say. She could just imagine the look on her father's face after Daikon would insult him to his face.
Daikon raised an eyebrow at the sight of Weiss chuckling to herself about something. What could be so amusing that she felt the need to chuckle to herself?
"Is there something on my face that you feel the need to chuckle?," Daikon asked.
Weiss looked to him and was desperately trying to hold back her chuckling as she responded to him.
"No, there's nothing in particular. I was just thinking about something rather funny as your face came to mind.," Weiss answered.
"Oh? Well then, maybe you'd like a closer look at my face then.. princess?," Daikon asked smirking.
"💢 As if I'd ever think that! You're getting far too ahead of yourself, Koizumi!," Weiss huffed.
"😌 Whatever you say, Princess.," He said purposely drawing out the title he'd taken to calling the Shnee heiress.
Weiss scowled at him, feeling as though she was about to pop a blood vessel.
"💢 You little-! Ugh, I thought I told you not to call me that! My name is Weiss! Or don't you remember that was part of our deal in return for me forgiving your rudeness?," Weiss replied with her eyebrow slightly twitching.
"Tch! Fine. I'm many things students think I am, but a liar and a failure to keep a single promise is something I am not.," Daikon reluctantly admitted.
Weiss blinked at him in surprise. That.. was ... unexpected for him. She thought for sure he was going to deny ever saying that.
"He may be rather annoying at times with teasing me, but... I guess even a brute like Daikon has a code of honor.," Weiss thought to herself surprised.
Nova just slyly smirked at this. He then quietly walked off, taking care not to be noticed by the two he was watching.
