Chapter 5 - 04 - Two-Headed Undead I

The view of that undead was quite peculiar; watching of skeletons walking and hear their groans was already bizarre, but this corpse was the most bizarre thing that ''It'' has seen by now. Starting with the fact that the undead had two skulls instead of one, also this skeleton was on top of a pile of bones and wield in it's hand a weird staff made out of bones, possibly from that pile, and not to mention the bizarre ability to attract undeads with that chant and also the ability to expel that misterious mist from one of it's mouths... Was pretty clear that this undead was not like the others, maybe it possessed intelligence too? ''It'' thought that was possible that this two-headed skeleton may be aware of itself... But ''It'' soon stopped to think about that, forgetting any idea that appeared in it's mind.

''It'' stopped caring about everything and let that soft and nice melody enter in it's mind. That chant was really delightful, and for ''It'' this was the first thing it heard different from the guttural cries or the steps of the undead... ''It'' was enchanted as it moved towards the bone pile the two-headed was on top of.

While ''It'' moved close, more it felt fascinated by that wonderful chant... Until something got ''it'' of the daze it was in... ''It'' noticed how one of the skeletons near the bone pile trembled for a few seconds before it faint and each one of the bones fell over the bone pile; with this ''It'' realized what was happening. All of this was a trap... The mesmerizing chant was some sort of bait that helped that two-headed undead to gather the skeletons in this place.

Only after realizing that trap ''It'' noticed that this pleasant sound make ''It'' felt unfocussed, like it's mind was getting blurry and weak every second, and not wanting to end like the skeleton that fainted, ''It'' moved it's hands almost inmediately, reaching the skulls of two undeads close; at the same time ''It'' grabbed the skulls, both it's hands and eyesocks started to shine with a green light that was followed by two blood-chilling screams that reverberated all over the place.

After assimilating the corpses, ''It'' regained lucidity, enough to overcome the hipnotizing sensation produced by that chant, but ''It'' thought that if remained in that place, the daze could get ''It'' again so, ''It'' decided to get out of that place as soon as possible, without even looking back.

Still yet, instants after ''It'' was trying to leave, something happened, something that would make ''It'' look back. ''It'' heard a deafening scream that made echo all over the cave. What caused that? This question appeared inmediately in the mind of ''It'' and the aswer appeared almost in the same instant.

By looking back ''It'' found that every single one of all the undead gathered here was staring at ''It'' and of course, ''all'' included the two-head unded at the top of the pile, but this one was not only staring but also was pointing at ''It'' with one of it's bony hands. Was clear that the two-headed skeleton was the one who screamed... And as soon as the ''eyes'' of both, ''It'' an the two-headed undead meet, the undead's eyesocks shone and it screamed again, but this time it sounded like a high-pitched screech, and almost like it was a war cry, all the skeletons in that place started to move towards ''It'' crearly with no good intentions.

''It'' Inmediately tried to escape, running away as fast as his bony legs allowed; luckily the dead ones weren't that fast so they couldn't catch ''It'' but ''It'' wasn't very fast either so ''It'' couldn't lose them, and also needed to be careful about the undeads that appeared in front of ''It'' as ''It'' enter in the mist...

----

After a time running away, and almost being catched a few times, ''It'' could lose the angry herd of undeads. ''It'' was now sitting down, resting inside a tunnel with just a couple of skeletons that weren't even close. ''It'' wasn't resting because the need of catching breath, the dead body relieved ''It'' from the physical fatigue, but ''It'' still felt exhausted and mentaly tired because of what happened before.

Moments later, and more calm now, ''It'' was trying to analize what whas happened. ''It'' had few questions... Why the skeletons tried to attack? This was possibly because that scream from that two--headed undead, the scream could be like a command... But if that was really a command, then why the two-headed one screamed? and why the other skeletons listened to that command?

Thinking about that ''It'' organized it's ideas better. About the two-headed scream, it sure was it's way to ''command' the herd of undeads, an so why the undead followed that command? This was actually very weird, because the screams emitted by the undeads that ''It'' assimilated were ignored or even not listened... Maybe this wasn't about the scream itself but about who screamed; after all, the voice of that two-headed thing had this hipnotizing ability that make you feel like the only thing you want is to keep listening thah weird chant, that was the reason why the common undead were attracted to that place... So maybe that two-headed undead had some mind-controlling ability and the way to use it was it's chant, or screams, in this case. With this ''It'' at least knew what happened and why the skeletons attacked... But, why the skeleton with two heads gave the order?

Even after thinking four hours ''It'' couldn't find the answer to that last question. Well, it was sure the attack was for something ''It'' did, but what? ''It'' didn't know what he did to piss off the two-headed thing so ''It'' stop thinking about that and chose to focus in the now.

''It'' looked at it's left arm, that was incomplete. During the escape the herd almost catched ''It'' a couple times, and in one of those times, the arm of ''It'' was ripped off; it's entire hand and one of the bones of the forearm were gone, and the other bone was broken. ''It'' didn't felt like losing one of it's arms was a big deal, ''It'' was dead so the pain wasn't a thing to care about... But even without the pain ''It'' wasn't very happy about losing it's entire hand, an this was because ''It'' was a corpse, an undead, and the possibility of healing was almost 0%.
