The Abandoned mine was a 5 hour walk from the city gate and Adam ran for whole 4 hours while also collecting herbs. He had gathered around 8 herbs on the way there.
When he reached the entrance of the cave he noticed that a mountain range started from this place and the cave was right at the foot of the mountain. According to his memory this mountain range was in the north east of the empire which protected half of the northern side from the 'evil and oppressive' neighbor.
Adam was panting like a dog. He pushed him self to the limit of his stamina but he was the first there, or so he thought. Deciding its better to rest for a bit he sat down near the entrance, surrounded by bushes and so Adam strategized about his future plan.
'I need to upgrade my base so its practically a home not some bang shack put together by a hillbilly. But the problem is money. I need capital. Should I start a business or just become red robin hood and donate to myself cause I'm the most poor on this planet.
But what if the people I tried to rob are as strong as the one from that night? Nope justice for my self can wait. I need to get stronger first. Let's see what kind of power I get from absorbing these slimes.

Suddenly there came a sound of explosion from the cave. 'Shit who sneaked past?' Adam was lost in his thoughts and didn't realize some one had entered his hole.
He jumped out of the bushes and landed right at the entrance of the cave, like hulk would in his better movies ( like the HULK or THE INCREDIBLE HULK) not the new one cause lets be honest , that ain't the real hulk, fuck that pussy hulk.

Relying on the power to better see in the dark which he got from the wolf he absorbed and the steady foot work he had from his military days and from also the wolf or how the wolf wolf would do he entered into the cave to see who would enter his hole.
Adam had not realized that what ever he absorbed would give him powers and abilities but it would also modify or change his body in extreme ways like his sense of smell , sight and hearing but would also change in a subtle way like the muscles in his legs and arms which gave him more strength and made his feet lighter to better sneak around.
Entering into the cave he saw scrotch marks here and there, on the surface, on the walls and some on the ceiling. 'a flame thrower?? Damn I want one too.' The marks were one as if some one was using a flame thrower or it could be a fire mage.
Slowly sneaking around the mine for 5 minutes Adam didn't see any single slime or the THIEF but the marks were increasing as he went deeper into the mine. Adam arrived at a T junction in the mine but while he was deciding which direction he should go his nose picket up the cent of blood coming from the left. With his guard up Adam followed the scent of blood and the mine started to descend. in the distance he saw a little flame and beside the flame was the figure of the most lazy story written person, in her clothes which changed from mages rob to a casual jeans and white shirt. Adam wouldn't ever forget this person cause he was jealous of her magic and the money her family had.
"Hey there princess!" Adam walked into the light of the flame so she could see him and he also saw her clearly.
She was sitting on the ground her back against the wall while some of her clothes were corroded and even some skin of her thighs and arms. luckily her torso and face was un harmed but her shirt was corroded from the chest area. 'Shit the bra is unharmed.'
Elira's pale face was blushed not cause of embracement but cause of mana depletion. Some how she still kept the little flame alive which showed her will and dedication. The corroded skin on her thigh and arms gave a pungent smell and more so affected Adams sensitive nose. Her hair was a mess maybe cause of the explosion .
" You ? Why are you here?" she sat up straight ready to defend her self against Adam.
" On the quest just like you. What happened?"
Adam asked but there wasn't a reply for a while Instead Elira looked towards the the opposite side of the tunnel they were in. It was blocked or seemed to be.
After a while Elira decided to tell him what had happened.
" I decided to finish this quest as fast as I could but the number of slimes suddenly increased. It was as if they were waiting for me , like a ambush. I thought I was about to die. They-"
" So mid way fighting you realized that you're nearly out of mana so you collapsed the tunnel. Now you're sitting here." Adam completed it instead of listening to the extended version of her story.
Elira looked at him for a few seconds narrowing her eyes and said "hmmm."
