The world.
Waiting for him.
Feroz stood before the doorway without moving.
Warm light poured through the opening.
It did not blind him.
It welcomed him.
Behind him...
the chamber remained silent.
Four stone benches.
Smooth walls.
The place where questions had finally become choices.
The older Feroz waited patiently.
He did not rush him.
He never had.
After a long silence...
Feroz spoke.
"So this is goodbye."
The older Feroz smiled gently.
"For now."
Feroz looked at him.
"For now?"
"There are many roads."
The answer was calm.
"They cross more often than people realize."
Feroz lowered his eyes.
Somehow...
that gave him hope.
He took one slow step toward the doorway.
Then stopped again.
"There is one thing I still don't understand."
The older Feroz folded his arms.
"Only one?"
A faint smile appeared on Feroz's face.
"For now."
The older Feroz nodded.
"Ask."
Feroz looked directly into his eyes.
"Why was I shown your future?"
The older Feroz did not answer immediately.
Instead...
he walked toward the doorway himself.
The warm light illuminated his face.
For the first time...
Feroz noticed something strange.
The light passed through parts of him.
Almost as though...
he wasn't completely real.
Finally...
he answered.
"So you would stop chasing mine."
Silence.
Feroz frowned.
"I don't understand."
"You kept asking what would happen."
The older Feroz's voice remained peaceful.
"So the Learning Path showed you one possibility."
"Not to tell you your future..."
"...but to free you from it."
Those words settled deeply inside him.
His future had never been fixed.
None of the five futures had been.
Not the lonely leader.
Not the ruler.
Not the martyr.
Not even this quiet man standing before him.
They were only possibilities.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
The older Feroz nodded slightly.
"Now..."
"...your choices belong to you again."
Feroz looked through the doorway.
The light seemed familiar now.
It reminded him of the first white chamber.
Except this light carried warmth instead of uncertainty.
He took another step.
The moment his foot crossed the threshold...
the entire doorway rippled.
Like water disturbed by a falling leaf.
He froze.
The older Feroz watched silently.
"It is waiting."
"What is?"
"The final witness."
Feroz turned back.
"I thought you said the Learning Path was finished."
"It is."
"Then what is this?"
The older Feroz smiled.
"It isn't another lesson."
"It is proof."
"Proof of what?"
"Of who leaves."
Feroz looked ahead once more.
The light slowly faded.
Shapes began forming beyond it.
Stone.
Trees.
Sky.
Not the endless white.
Not another impossible chamber.
A real place.
He stepped through.
For a heartbeat...
everything disappeared.
No sound.
No weight.
No thoughts.
Then...
his feet touched solid ground.
Fresh air filled his lungs.
A cool breeze brushed against his face.
He slowly opened his eyes.
He stood upon a quiet hill.
Grass swayed gently around him.
A narrow stone path stretched forward.
Behind him...
there was no doorway.
No chamber.
Nothing.
Only an old stone marker standing alone.
Its surface was smooth.
Blank.
He looked around.
The Learning Path had vanished.
Ahead...
a single figure stood beneath a weathered tree.
Not far away.
An elderly man.
Simple grey robes.
Wooden walking staff.
White hair reaching his shoulders.
He was neither Suleiman...
nor the keeper of the Hall.
Feroz had never seen him before.
The old man smiled as though he had been expecting him.
"So..."
he said quietly,
"You finally finished walking."
Feroz approached cautiously.
"Who are you?"
The old man chuckled.
"I have had many names."
"That wasn't my question."
"No."
"It wasn't."
He leaned lightly upon his staff.
"But it was the wrong one."
Feroz sighed.
"Suleiman would like you."
The old man laughed warmly.
"He usually does."
That answer caught Feroz by surprise.
"You know Suleiman?"
"I knew him..."
"...when he still believed he had all the answers."
Feroz stopped walking.
His eyes widened slightly.
Suleiman?
Young?
Impossible.
The old man studied him quietly.
Then nodded with satisfaction.
"Good."
"You've started noticing impossible things without rejecting them."
Feroz folded his arms.
"Is this another test?"
The old man shook his head.
"No."
"The tests ended."
"Then why am I here?"
The old man slowly turned toward the horizon.
Far in the distance...
mountains rose beneath the evening sky.
Beyond them...
something shimmered faintly.
Almost like broken glass reflecting sunlight.
"The Learning Path teaches people how to walk."
He looked back at Feroz.
"My task..."
"...is to decide whether they should return."
Silence.
Feroz felt a strange heaviness settle inside him.
"Return?"
The old man nodded.
"To the Threshold."
"To your companions."
"To the world that has continued moving without you."
Haroon.
Younus.
Ibn Younus.
Haya.
Salman.
Rehan.
The names immediately filled Feroz's thoughts.
For the first time in what felt like forever...
he thought about those waiting outside.
How long had they been searching?
How much time had passed?
Before he could ask...
the old man quietly spoke again.
"There is only one question left."
Feroz smiled faintly.
"I knew there would be one."
The old man smiled back.
"There always is."
He raised his walking staff.
Not as a threat.
As an invitation.
Then he asked...
"When you return..."
"...will you follow the path?"
"...or will you become the one who makes it for others?"
