Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 11:

"Well, did you talk to Mum?" Brother Cedric asked, "Yeah, I did. She gave me 2 health potions. So where is the client we will meet at??" I enquired.

"They told us to meet them at the Chekky port at 7 AM in the morning. Now hurry; we need to reach it fast since it's nearly 5 and the port is pretty far."

Brother then started running before jumping and landing scarcely on the rooftop. "What??" he asked, looking at me.

"How did you do that?? You jumped so high!! and you were so fast too!! I could barely keep up!!" I asked with stars in my eyes.

"I used the body reinforcement spell. You used it too, against the bear!" Brother Cedric responded while looking at me as if I was asking something stupid, which probably was in his eyes.

"I did??" I asked, "Uhmm, yeah, you did!! Otherwise, you wouldn't have reacted to the bear!!" That wasn't very comforting to hear but also good.

"Not like anything bad would have happened again, because Father was 2 seconds away from jumping in." Seeing me stunned, he added, "Now activate the spell and jump over!!"

"Okay!!" I quickly answered and got into position to jump.

I started circulating mana inside my body, feeling it become very light and sturdy. I then leapt towards Brother. I jumped a story-tall house and landed flat on my face on the rooftop.

"Brother, everything felt so slow; I could hear the woman in this house scream while the man..." I started saying as I got up from the ground, "NOPE!!! Come on, let's go!!! " Brother interrupted me before dragging me off the roof.

It took us about 15 minutes to reach the port; on this trip I learnt how to continuously concentrate on using the spell. I also thought that since I have a very high amount of mana and since this spell only uses a little bit, why not use it all the time?

"Took you long enough!! Why the hell are you being paid for if you don't show up on time!!" Shouted a short man with chubby fingers that were pointing at us.

He had some wisps of white in his black hair, brown eyes and a short, not well-kept, black beard; what I could see of his face was so red I think he was exposed. I don't know if he is red due to either anger or fatness.

And to top it all off, he was wearing a red set of clothes with a pointy red hat; some of his teeth were missing while others were rotten black.

"We are here now, and we are paid to protect you when we are at sea. Are you scared you might be attacked in the middle of the city?" Brother responded.

"A smartass, aren't we?? I don't want..." The man was saying before being interrupted, "Ahhhh!! Connington, I presume!! Please excuse the captain; he lost a bet, and now he is angry." Said a tall man from the boat.

He was wearing a green tunic with a black bottom; he had black skin, his hair was long and black, and his eyes were hazel with more brown in them than green, paired with some of the whitest teeth I had ever seen.

"There won't be a problem as long as this doesn't repeat itself again!" brother said with a commanding tone.

"No. "No, it won't; isn't that right, captain?" The man gave a look to the captain. "No, it won't!!" The captain said, turning his back to us and getting into the boat while shouting at his men.

"So who is the little kid??" the man asked after he got down to our level in the dock. "My brother is a very powerful mage; you better not underestimate him, or you will pay dearly," the brother said.

"If you say so, then it must be true. Please get on board, but first let me formally invite you into Baldwing." The man said, bowing to us and stepping aside for us to get on to the ship.

The boat had an eagle at the bow, with a hull far too elongated. There were 2 built masts in the middle of the boat; one was bigger than the other and placed in the front of the boat at the deck level.

"Loosen the ropes!!" We heard the captain shout from the wheelhouse; he was steering the helm. After turning the wheel starboard, he shouted, "Set sails!!" and the sails came undone, the boat moved out of the port area, and we were moving at a mild speed.

I have to say that riding was not as good as I thought, as I felt dizzy thanks to all the sharp turns the boat was making. When we reached the Ragman's Harbour, also known as the Outer Harbour, in the corner of my vision I could see a pair of purple eyes looking at the ships; it was the short kid with the long silver-blond hair.

I kept staring in that direction; I could see so well even from this distance, "Full speed ahead!!" I was awoken from my daydream by the captain's shouting.

"Hey, Jade!! How does it feel to be at the sea for the first time??" I heard Brother ask, "It's okay." I responded. "Only okay! I was expecting a more enthusiastic response."

"This way, please, my lords," said the tall man. He then took us under the ship to the crew's cabins, and right at the end there were 2 doors next to each other.

"This room (the right one) will be yours. I will be in the room adjacent to yours. If you ever need anything, do tell me. By the way, the name is Zorroquol Qho." Said the man with flourish as he half bowed.

"Thank you. We will." I said, outstretching my hand for a shake; the man then took my hand and shook it.

Afterwards we parted ways with Zorroquol and went to the room; it was a pretty small room with two beds stacked on top of each other. There was a desk made of simple wood with 2 drawers.

I took the bottom bed, not because I was forced or anything; I just liked the bottom bed, and we decided to share the desk.
