Chapter 325 - CHAPTER 325 — The Question That Breaks the Air

Departmental exam for Prelims came and went like a storm.

Wednesday: History + Accounting.

Thursday: Statistics + Microeconomics + Physics.

Friday morning: Physics Lecture Exam.

By the time all five exams were done, my brain felt like a microwaved dumpling — overworked, under-sauced, and vaguely traumatized.

But at least they were done.

Grades wouldn't be released until next week.

No use panicking now.

So there I was, walking toward the Physics building with Steven, both of us bundled in sweaters against the sharp December air.

Students rushed around us — scarves, thermoses, the smell of sweet winter bread drifting from the cafe. The sky hung low and silver, promising colder days ahead.

"Your prelim week wasn't bad," Steven said, glancing down at me. "You didn't look stressed."

"That was an act."

"One you performed very convincingly."

I nudged him with my elbow. "Flattery isn't allowed before 9AM."
