Fidelia had never been the type to sit on a problem. When something annoyed her, she preferred to deal with it immediately, consequences considered later if at all — a trait that had landed her in more than a few fights back in school, and one that hadn't mellowed much with age. She liked to say she'd rather regret doing something than regret not doing it, though Alex privately suspected there'd been at least a few exceptions to that rule over the years.
Alex, by contrast, was the patient, vindictive type — someone who preferred to plan every step of her revenge before executing it, and who took genuine satisfaction in watching a plan unfold exactly as designed. Fidelia knew this about her well enough to know that whatever Alex eventually decided to do about Aria, it would leave a mark. That knowledge didn't make the waiting any less frustrating in the meantime.
