Aria sat frozen, genuinely lost. Sued? Over a scandal this small? She'd run every possible outcome through her head before setting the plan in motion, certain Ethan never bothered pursuing people who used his name for a bit of attention. So why now? Why her specifically? None of the scenarios she'd rehearsed in her head had accounted for actual legal consequences — she'd assumed, if anything, this would simply blow over the way every other rumor about Ethan's love life eventually did.
She couldn't very well explain to her father that she'd orchestrated the entire photo, staged the fall, posted it herself from a fake account. He barely touched social media — there was a real chance he had no idea the scandal even existed beyond whatever version reached him secondhand, filtered through whoever had bothered to mention it to him at all.
