Before heading over, Fidelia had actually planned to bring breakfast herself, knowing how much her friend loved to eat, especially in the morning — but Leila had told her not to bother, since there was a cook at Eliott's place. She'd been looking forward to a good meal all morning, but scanning the house on arrival, she found it strangely empty. No staff anywhere, just Eliott and Alex, and not so much as a coffee smell drifting from the kitchen yet.
Eliott's apartment sat on the same floor as her own, though considerably larger — two stories, living room and kitchen downstairs, three ensuite bedrooms upstairs. Despite the size, Eliott had always been fiercely independent, even as a child. He didn't like anyone doing things for him at home, so there were no live-in staff, just someone who came twice a week to clean and bring some dishes when he was too busy.
