I look towards Kadachi who also looks at me.
(What are we going to do...)
Just then the lights flicker and we both nod, just as the lights go out we both knock out the ones holding us and he grabs ahold of my hand as we make a break for it.
(it's so dark how does he know where to go!")
"K-Kadachi."
I feel his finger hit my lips as we stop in the corridor hearing the loud yelling coming from the room we just left.
"Shh, it's right up here."
He pulls me into the stare well and we make our way down a few flights of stairs and out the emergency exit where we stop for a second to catch our breath.
"How...how did the power go out in that exact moment that the cops came!?"
Kadachi shrugs and just as he does we hear a loud explosion come from above and glass and rubble fall near us as we narrowly escape under an awning.
"This is too orchestrated to be happening all at once like this but who?!"
Kadachi sighs before taking my hand in his as rain begins to fall.
"I'm not sure but it seems we have someone watching us let's get out of here."
I nod as we take our leave.
(I feel like this might be much deeper than even I can imagine.)
The image of what was in the jar gave me chills as we made our way through the ally's Kadachi stops in front of me both of us trying to catch our breath.
"This should be far enough, Kairi…"
I look up at him as rain drenched us rain droplets trickled down the ends of his hair onto the ground, and the moonlight shined high in the sky making the light reflect off the rain puddle below us.
"Hmm?"
I rub my arms sensing the air has become uncomfortable giving me chills, Kadachi sighs before taking off his jacket and setting it over my head, before I could react he then squats in front of me with his back facing me.
"Common it's getting cold."
I do as I'm told and climb on also trying to cover his head as well.
"Thank you…"
I lean my head into the crock of his neck and feel him tense up, I giggle and sigh a long deep sigh causing him to shiver.
"Quit it your tickling me!"
We laugh all the way home trying to brighten up the tense air.
(Knowing all of these things plus even more are going on around us but something has been nagging at me. Who was the person who helped us?)
(A few days go by and everything calms down after reports confirm an explosion from the hotel was caused by a lit cigarette being next to an oxygen tank killing at least 3, injuring 6 cops, one was our target while the other two were his men that had died. The cops came out fine...Kaito said he would get back to me in a few days so...)
Just then a pair of fingers snap in my face, I look up to see Kadachi with a raised eyebrow.
"What are you thinking about?"
I shrug and smile before standing up to give him a hug.
"Dumb stuff, how has your day been?"
He places his arms tightly around me.
"It's been good how about yours?"
I sigh
"It's been ok, what do you want for dinner?"
I pull away and make my way to the kitchen, and begin with washing my hands.
"Already got it covered with pizza on the way."
I grin and dry off my hands just as the doorbell rings.
"Oh that must be it now, I'm gonna grab my wallet could you get the door?"
I nod.
"Yep got it."
Just as I move forward it was as if my whole body was heavy and my head began to spin, I try to grab ahold of the counter for balance but just then feel someone hold me from behind.
"I have you."
I look up to see Kadachi who helps me to the floor to try and catch my breath.
"Kadachi..."
He moves the hair out of my face and then grabs ahold of my wrist where my watch was and tapped on it to unlock its digital screen, he smirks and kisses my forehead.
"You're fine you just moved too fast you need to sit and rest, I'll get the door and I'll be right back."
We hear another knock on the door as he hands me a glass of water before walking to the door.
I take a sip of water and a few more deep slow breaths before slowly standing up, as I set the water down on the counter Kadachi walks in holding pizza and I smile.
"So what's the plan for today?"
Kadachi smirks.
"Rest and some more rest."
He chuckles as he pulls out a very cheesy slice of pizza and puts it onto a plate.
"Nah but really I need to go to the office today at some point and finish some paperwork, if you wanna come you can."
He hands me the plate and I take a bite.
"Yep, sounds…*gulp* great. *gulp* what time are we leaving?"
Kadachi scratches the back of his head before laughing.
"I guess whenever you're ready."
I finish my pizza in one bite and then chug my water.
"Ok great I'll go get ready now then!"
He chuckles and I walk out to go get ready.
