Chapter 45 - Lucky Draw

The next morning arrived with a soft orange hue creeping over Magnolia. Lucky was already up, scarfing down bread and juice as he stared blankly at the window. Yesterday's Guildmaster meeting still echoed in his mind.

He stood, cracked his neck, and muttered, "Time to make good on that promise."

Slipping out of the guild before the morning rush, Lucky made his way to the nearby forest. Not far from the training zone he'd used many times, he spotted movement in the trees.

Three of his clones sat around a campfire like old men.

"Well, look who finally showed up," one of them called, tossing a twig into the flames.

"We've been grinding nonstop and you just vanish?" another complained.

The third folded his arms. "We're not batteries, you know."

Lucky laughed nervously and held up his hands. "Alright, alright, I get it. I appreciate the work. But today... I need to go all out."

The clones looked at each other and groaned.

Lucky took a deep breath and sat cross-legged. "Before I push for support skills, I need mental defense. If I'm gonna keep drawing this much... I need to protect my head."

He pulled out the Lucky Draw card and channeled 20,000 mana into it, filtering the categories carefully:

————————————————————————————

————————————

Lucky Draw:

————————————

World: -

————————————

Category: [Skill], [Ability], [Mental], [Passive], [Recovery]

————————————

Energy: 1000/mana

————————————

Energy Required: (50×2 + 50×2 + 50×2 + 50×2 + 50×2) = 5000 mana

————————————

Mana Cost per Draw: 5000

————————————

——————————————————————————

A brilliant flash erupted from the activated card. The first few attempts had been disappointments - a useless [Boredom Resistance] skill, followed by an equally pointless [Lullaby Amplification] flute.

The process of merging these fragmented picture shards had been grueling. The unreasonable shard requirements made the entire endeavor feel deliberately tedious. The abysmal success rates reminded me of my still-unfinished quest for that elusive [Mana Regeneration] skill - a hunt that had already consumed twice as many shards as this current project.

But fortune finally smiled upon me. This time...this time the glow didn't fade into disappointment. The card's radiance stabilized, revealing my hard-won prize.

After Lucky saw the Mental Recovery ability appear, he leapt to his feet, pumping both fists into the air like a child who just won the grand prize at a festival.

"Yes!! Finally!" he shouted.

The sudden outburst caused all the clones and the other summons scattered nearby to look up in alarm.

"What's got you screaming this early?" one clone asked, squinting at him.

Lucky spun the card around and held it up proudly. "Mental Recovery! Do you know what this means?! I can spam Shadow Clone without worrying about brain burn!"

The clones all stared, wide-eyed.

Another clone stood up. "Wait... you're saying no more meditating under waterfalls or going to sleep to regain SP?"

"Exactly," Lucky grinned. "The only real way to recover soul power was rest or meditation. Now? It just regenerates!"

One by one, all 200 clones who had gathered in a wide circle for the draw began to cheer and laugh in unison. Their voices filled the forest like a strange, echoing choir.

"Finally! No more naptime!"

"Boss is unstoppable now!"

"We're gonna abuse this so hard!"

Lucky couldn't help it he laughed too, doubling over with relief. The weight of mental fatigue that had always come with overusing Shadow Clone felt like it had just been lifted.

When he showed the Mental Fortitude card as well, they practically erupted. "You just became a mental fortress!" one shouted.

"Now we can grind with no cooldowns!" another added.

Lucky smiled wide. "Exactly."

Now he stood and drew again, this time switching focus.

"Let's get to the real reason I'm here."

He infused the draw card again, this time setting categories to:

[Item], [Repair], [Utility], [Construction], [Magic Tool]

One pull. Two. Ten. Twenty.

Most were junk: enchanted hammers, auto-sweeping brooms, magical cement that lasted five seconds.

The clones helped by sorting the items into piles.

"This one just spits nails. Not bad."

"This one's a broom with a mouth that fix broken glass."

By the time he hit 60 draws, Lucky was sighing heavily. "I need something big."

The clones stood silently as Lucky reached out.

He pulled out the Power of Luck: Chapter 1 – Lucky Hit card.

X4

His eyes narrowed. "Let's test this."

He activated it and for the first time, instead of using it on a spell, he focused it directly onto the Lucky Draw itself.

The card shimmered violently.

The clones took a step back.

Then the draw card pulsed in his hands and 4cards burst forth instead of one.

One of them glowed brighter.

Lucky grabbed it first and learned them all quickly so he could see the potential.

"This... this is it! This can fix entire guild ."

The clones whistled.

"Finally worth the effort," one said.

Lucky nodded, then held up the Arcane Repair Talisman. "I'm giving this one to Erza. She'll need it more than I will."

He tucked it away carefully.

But when he Traied to use Lucky hit again something It didn't activate and in the Back of his mind the card turned gray and there was a number which was the cooldown which was an entire day wich made me slighlty depressed after all my personal magic is baically uslesss.

Other potions began to show up in his inventory as he continued drawing again. After all of this, only one of the potions turned out to be Tier 6 an ultra-rare healing elixir. The rest were scattered effects:

Lucky sighed. "That's RNG for you."

Still, he was satisfied.

The clones, though, were on the verge of collapse.

Over the course of the session, Lucky had summoned and drawn over 5,000 times. The entire forest sparkled with the aftermath of magic, light, and shimmering cards.

The clones were completely drained. Summoned beasts slumped over or returned to their cards. Mana supplies across the board had plummeted.

Lucky fell backward onto the grass, panting slightly, then grinning.

"Now that was productive."
