After a few days of rest, Naruto sat down at a student desk and chair as Geto had curses hold up three giant whiteboards.

"Ready for our first lesson?"

"Hell yeah!" Naruto cheered while repeatedly slamming his palms onto the desk.

"Before we start, we need to understand what we're actually working with." Geto uncapped a marker and drew two overlapping circles on the first board. "These are two systems from two worlds."

"I don't understand? I thought Cursed Energy was a different name for Chakra."

"It might be, as far as we know. But both energies are shaped by different histories and cultures. Treating them as the same or completely different would be wrong considering how much they interact." The monk tapped the space where the intersection was. "Everything useful lives here. And that's where we begin."

"Makes sense," Naruto replied, trying to look like a serious student.

"Let's establish how chakra and cursed energy actually function." Geto tapped the circles. "I sense alot similarities but the differences matter."

"Okay so chakra is made of two components. Physical energy from the body and spiritual energy from the mind and experience. You combine them, mold them through hand signs, and that produces jutsu."

Naruto thanked Sakura for explaining this during the wave mission.

Geto wrote the definition in one circle, then added key words in the intersection.

Hand signs. Spiritual energy. Jutsu.

"Cursed energy," Geto said, moving to the second circle, "is spiritual energy that leaks from... humans as a direct result of negative emotion. We also use hand signs. In jujutsu they help in making binding vows to strengthen the technique."

Naruto wondered what a binding vow was and if he can use it?

"Can you remove hand signs from your jutsu?"

Naruto opened his mouth before he seriously thought about it.

"I mean... some jutsu don't need them. The Rasengan doesn't use handsigns at all. But then guys like Kakashi-sensei and Jiraiya-sensei use hand signs for almost everything. They're some of the strongest shinobi that I know."

"So are hand signs making the technique stronger? Are they just a condition? Is the Rasengan an exception or is there a whole category of sealless jutsu that you don't know about? If sealless jutsu are possible then why does anyone use hand signs at all. If hand signs do make techniques stronger then is there a handsign for the rasengan and—"

Naruto just gave a nervous chuckle that screamed I don't know.

"Let's set that aside and come back to it. Simpler question about the spiritual energy component of chakra. What is it connected to? In cursed energy, the spiritual component is directly tied to negative emotion. What about chakra's spiritual component?"

Naruto did his best impression of a wise man. By sitting completely still with his cheeks slightly puffed while digging through every memory he had of Academy lessons.

Nothing came up.

"You don't know," Geto said.

Naruto nodded slowly. "I really should have paid more attention in class."

"You've attended classes?"

"Yeah. In my village, you get admitted to the ninja academy at age 5. We learn everything we need to function as shinobi, then graduate at 12 and become genin." Naruto fidgeted with the edge of the desk.

"Well, we have something like that," Geto said. "Hidden academies recruit potential sorcerers at sixteen. They are trained in jujutsu theory and combat. The twins and you should avoid such places at all cost."

"Why?"

"They exist to produce obedient tools. The people running those institutions answer to politicians and elders whose primary interest is maintaining the current order." Geto's voice was even but the edge underneath it wasn't hard to hear.

"So… they're the bad guys?"

"Yes."

Naruto nodded slowly.

"Ya know, I was a terrible student. My whole strategy was to be loud enough and annoying enough that people couldn't pretend I didn't exist. I wasn't learning anything. I was just making noise. If I'd actually paid attention, I could probably answer half these questions right now."

"But you didn't," Geto said, without judgment.

"But I didn't." Naruto looked at the two circles on the board. "So, now what?"

The monk hummed before releasing a curse sprirt.

A man-sized monkey-like curse. It kinda just looked like a regular monkey but it had no face. Just smooth skin pulled tight over the skull's shape.

"Is this the monkey that's always beefing with you?" The curse spirit spoke out the boy's thought. Naruto shuddered realizing the faceless monkey had mimicked his voice and read his mind.

"This is Satori," Geto said. "A curse born from the fear of having one's privacy violated. Its cursed technique allows it to read the minds an memories of anyone it comes into contact with."

Naruto made an uncomfortable face when the monkey grabbed his head.

"Don't resist it, Naruto"

Satori extended one arm and a stream of CE flowed out from its palm like a projection.

Naruto sucked in a deep breath.

Konohagakure no Sato!

The village spread across the projection in full detail. The gates. The rooftops stacked against the mountainside. The Hokage Monument with its five carved faces looking out over everything.

It has been a while since he saw home.

"Do you need a moment?" Geto asked.

Naruto didn't answer. The projection shifted, moving through his memory on its own. Ichiraku Ramen shop appeared with old man Teuchi behind the counter. Training Ground Seven with Kakashi giving him a wave. The Hokage Office with Tsunade drinking at the desk.

"It's strange, right." Naruto kept his eyes on the village. "Most of the people there hated me. Yet, I still want to go back. I still want them to accept me… I want them to love me."

"It's a pathetic human weakness." Geto let out a self-deprecating laugh. "But that is the tragedy of our kind, Naruto. We bleed to protect a world of ungrateful monkeys, hoping that'll mean something. Eventually, you have to stop begging for a reason and realize that some foundations are simply too rotten to save."

Naruto frowned at that prespective.

"If they don't look at me, then I'll make them look! I'm gonna become Hokage, and I'm gonna protect every single one of them until they have to acknowledge me! If you just walk away and hate everyone, you're just letting them win! I'm never running away, and I'm never going back on my word... because that's my ninja way!"

The projection shifted at the outburst as alot of memories surfaced. Of the better days in the academy. The first time he came to ichiraku ramen. Iruka gave him his headband. Training under Pervy Sage. Coming back to konoha with Tsunade. Going on a mission to save sasuke with everyone.

As much as Konoha had hurt him, it had also given him everything he had.

Geto treated the young shinobi's declaration like the empty tantrum of a child who has yet to face the unfixable ugliness of the world.

Naruto covered his face with both hands.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm afraid," the boy confessed through his palms.

"That you won't make it back."

"...yeah."

Geto knew this was his moment. "Home is people, Naruto. If you returned to Konoha tomorrow and everyone you cared about was gone, all you would find is the shape of what was missing. It isn't the village you miss, is it?"

Naruto lowered his hands. As tears streamed out freely. "You're right. It's not the village, I miss. It's my friends."

He sniffed.

"Sorry, I ruined the lesson."

"You didn't ruin anything. Seeing your home unexpectedly after this long would affect anyone." Geto's voice was matter of fact without being cold. "Take whatever time you need."

"No." Naruto wiped his face with his sleeve. "I'm not a crybaby. Let's keep going."

He focused on the memories. Thinking up whatever he could remember from Academy classes he had mostly slept through. The only helpful thing was a conversation with Sakura where she explained chakra to him. Ebisu emphasis on chakra control during their brief training. Fragments of knowledge from Jiraiya and Kakashi.

Satori projected it all.

Geto observed and then wrote down this weird mindmap of connections and conjectures.

"What are you thinking?"

"I have a theory." Geto uncapped a marker and drew the outline of two human figures side by side. Into one he sketched a network of lines running through the body. The other he left empty. "Cursed energy and chakra are the same thing. Shaped by a form of divergent evolution."

Naruto gave him the look that screamed yeah, you've lost it.

"Hear me out." Geto pointed at the first figure. "Both energies originate from the stomach region. Both use hand signs to formalize and strengthen technique. Both have a spiritual energy component."

"Okay but the differences are just as big," Naruto said. "And even the similarities are kind of iffy when you actually look at how they work."

"Which brings me to the second part." Geto pointed at the chakra network drawn into the first figure and then at the empty second figure beside it. "Sorcerers don't have this. We have no physical network running through the body the way yours does. Without that network we can't produce chakra, we can only access the spiritual energy our emotions generate. If sorcerers had a way to extract physical energy, we would also generate chakra. Now I'm wondering if physical energy has anything to do with RCT."

"Hm, Hm, Hm, Hm. " Naruto noised while nodding.

"You didn't understand a word of what I said."

"Dattebayo."

The monk sighed and tried a different approach.

"Follow me."

The kitchen was quieter than the main temple hall room. The monk placed a pot on the stove and filled it with water, letting them come to a boil.

"Imagine this is Spiritual energy," Geto said, gesturing at the boiling water.

Naruto nodded.

Geto poured some water into a cup and then added tea leaves to the remaining water.

"Are they the same?"

Naruto looked between a cup of tea and boiled water. "Is this a trick question?"

"It's an analogy."

"They're different, I guess. You added tea leaves to one."

"Yes. But we started with the same water." Geto leaned against the counter. "Spiritual energy generated from negative emotion is cursed energy. Spiritual energy combined with physical energy produces chakra."

Naruto gasped. "I understand."

"Good."

"You are a really good teacher, Monkey-hating-sensei!"

The monk sweatdropped at the name.

"But how do we know the spiritual energy is actually the same thing and not just similar? Like CE comes from negative emotions specifically. But the spiritual energy in chakra is supposed to be mind, consciousness and life experience."

"The reason I'm confident they share the same root is you."

"Me?!"

"Yes. You can see cursed spirits. And I can see what reads to me as CE leaking off your body. Though that may be the Kyuubi's chakra bleeding through rather than your own CE."

Naruto sat up straight. "Wait! Kyuubi has CE?"

"From what I observed when we first found you, the Kyuubi carries a vast concentration of something that reads as CE."

"Okay. So there's a way for me to actually use CE right? Yami could use Ce."

"Who is Yami?"

Naruto told the monk of what happened during his brief coma.

"I don't know," Geto shrugged.

"What?"

"Cursed energy is something you are born with." Geto picked up the plain water cup and turned it in his hand. "Negative emotions like fear, grief, anger, hatred, envy exist in virtually all humans to some degree. Most people leak small amounts of CE as a result. When that amount crosses a certain threshold it grants the ability to perceive cursed spirits. You can already see curses. Which means you're already above the base threshold."

"So I might already have it."

"Maybe. Or maybe your chakra allows you to see curses." He paused. "There are documented cases of people who gained the ability to see curses after near death experiences. But you're already seeing curses, so I don't think putting yourself in danger again is the answer."

Naruto sipped the tea. "I could ask Kyuubi about it. Actually, no. That's not going to work."

Geto hummed.

"Wait. My parents know more about chakra than I ever will. They might have an answer or at least a direction."

"Worth pursuing," Geto said.

"How do I get into the mindscape deliberately? Last time I had to exhaust my chakra but there's no remaining seal."

"Why don't you meditate? Some sorcerers could go into their innate domain through it."

"For how long."

"As long as it takes."

For the next few days, Naruto attempted meditation at every available opportunity. He would settle into the lotus position, close his eyes, and breathe deeply for an hour. Then pick up his phone and scroll until he felt guilty enough to try again. Sometimes he just fell asleep.

"Did Geto convert you into a monk?" Nanako asked sitting on a cushion beside him.

"Shush. I'm meditating."

"You're going to doom scroll the moment we leave."

"Come on." Naruto opened one eye. "This is serious. I can't do it. My brain just won't stop."

"Maybe try a different kind of meditation," Nanako said.

"How about Takigyo," Mimiko said, reading from her phone. "Combines physical endurance with spiritual purification. Rooted in Shinto traditions and Yamabushi training. It's basically meditating under a waterfall."

"At this point, why not? No harm in trying."

The three of them read through the article together and watched a few YouTube videos on it.

"That was interesting but I don't really want to go to a waterfall," Mimiko said.

"Same," Nanako said.

"We don't have to go out." Naruto rubbed his hands together. "We bring the waterfall to us."

The twins stood in the bathroom a few minutes later.

"This is stupid," Nanako said.

"There's no harm in trying," Mimiko said charitably.

"Hey. If it works, it works." Naruto reappeared from his room wearing an orange swimming trunk covered in ramen bowl drawings.

"What are you wearing?"

"It's awesome right? I bought it with my own money."

"How many did you buy?"

"Who's ready?" he said, ignoring the question. No one needed to know how he spent all his money on buying stupid stuff online.

Nanako turned on a waterfall ambience video on her phone. Mimiko produced a sleep mask.

Naruto put it on and stood in front of the shower.

"COLD—" Naruto yelled as the water touched his skin. Then someone touched the temperature dial and the water went scalding. "STOP MESSING WITH THE—"

The twins giggled at their prank.

"Mark my words. I will have my revenge. You two have angered the Prank God of Konoha."

Nanako nodded as the mimiko turned the water cold.

"STOP THAT."

The temperature settled into something warm and reasonable. Naruto huffed and sat down cross-legged on the shower floor. The ambience playing through the phone speaker, the water pressure and the blindfold created an interesting experience.

Half an hour passed.

"Yeah," he said. "That didn't work."

The twins deflated.

"On the bright side." Naruto peeled off the sleep mask with a grin. "I finally took my bi-monthly shower."

Two bars of soap hit him before he could leave, then shampoo and body wash.

"YOU ARE SHOWERING EVERY DAY!" the girls yelled. "EVERY. SINGLE. DAY, YOU ORANGE PIG!"

"Okay! Okay!" Naruto threw his hands up as another bottle narrowly missed his head. "I'm going!"

He ducked back behind the shower curtain.

"Get out," he complained. "I can't shower properly if you're both watching me!"

The twins exchanged a glance.

"...Naruto."

"...You don't know how to shower properly."

"I absolutely do!"

Nanako shoved a phone through the curtain.

"Watch this."

"...Seriously?"

"Yes."

Grumbling under his breath, Naruto watched the video.

Fifteen minutes later, Naruto stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, smelling noticeably better.

"So? How does it feel to finally be a clean human being?"

"I don't know. I just rubbed a bar of soap on my shirt and let the water figure the rest out."

The twins stared at him.

"I'm kidding! I used shampoo, face wash, conditioner, body wash, and moisturizer."

The twins let out identical sighs of relief.

"...Also," Naruto added, rubbing the back of his head, "while I was showering, I figured out how to get into my mindscape."

The trio found themselves outside in front of the house pool, the afternoon sun turning the water a flat pale blue.

"So," Naruto said, studying the pool with his hands on his hips. "The first time I accessed my mindscape, the pervy sage threw me off a cliff."

The twins gave him concerned looks.

"So let's recreate that."

"We can't throw you off a cliff... you're going to skydive into the pool."

"Nana. Do the thing."

The shutter clicked.

Naruto disappeared from the poolside and reappeared several hundred feet above it.

"Mimiko," Nanako said, "I feel like we didn't think this one through."

"Naruto was confident this will work."

"And why did we trust Naruto's intelliogence?"

"..."

Mimiko was ahead of her on her phone "Okay so. Falling into water from sufficient height or speed causes a brutal impact because water can't move out of the way fast enough. The rapid deceleration is comparable to hitting concrete. It says here the injuries are—"

Thock.

Both twins flinched at the sound. A hard crown of water exploded upward and outward, less like a splash and more like a body had struck something solid. A cavity formed in the surface where the body had punched through, collapsing immediately back on itself in a dome of white froth and foam. With droplets flying outward in every direction.

Naruto floated back up face down.

"Is he dead?"

"Uhhhhh... No, he's moving. Twitching is moving, right?"

Author Note: Oh no, I hope Naruto's okay. Anyways, let's get into the Q and A.

Q: What is Satori curse based on?

A Yokai with the same name.

Satori appear to travelers on mountain roads, or folks living in mountain huts far from civilization. If the opportunity presents itself, they gladly dine on anyone they can get their hands on. In cases where they encounter a lone human female, they often take her away into the mountains and rape her. Satori are most well known for their uncanny ability to read people's minds and then speak their thoughts faster than the individuals can get the words out themselves. This makes it very difficult to hunt, trick, or escape from a hungry satori. However, should something unforeseen happen, such as being unexpectedly hit by an object, satori grow very frightened and run away. One of the only ways to avoid being eaten by one of these yokai is to completely empty one's mind; with no mind to read, the satori grows bored and wanders away.

Q. Shouldn't CE and Chakra be different?

Okay so I am not going to talk about how I am making CE and Chakra two sides of the same coin. That's for the next chapter. I just want to discuss this on a meta level.

Because here are all the similarities between Chakra and CE.

1. Both have spiritual energy to them. Chakra is spiritual energy (Yin) plus physical energy (Yang). CE is just spiritual energy. Yes both have different sources of spiritual energy but they still have similar roots in the spiritual.

2. Chakra and CE both come from the stomach.

CE is stated to come from the gut.

During the Goodwill Event, Aoi Todo mentors Yuji Itadori on how to control his cursed energy. Yuji explains that he always tries to channel his feelings of anger or fear from his stomach and through his body. Todo realizes that Yuji's delay in using the Divergent Fist happens because he thinks of his body as separate parts instead of a unified whole.

In chapter 188, when Kashimo fights Hakari, Kashimo explicitly says CE comes from the gut and you have to use your head to direct Reverse Cursed Technique.

Now in the case of Naruto, it is never explicitly stated that chakra comes from the gut. But I have strong evidence for it. Whenever Naruto's chakra network is shown, blue flames upon his stomach region are always emphasized. Even without Naruto, whenever a chakra network is shown in the manga, there is always a concentration of chakra in the stomach region. In chapter 17 when Sakura explains chakra to the audience, the diagram shows chakra being formed in the stomach region.

Lastly, in traditional yoga and Ayurveda, the third chakra is the Manipura (solar plexus), located near the upper abdomen and stomach, which governs personal power and energy. We know Kishimoto takes a lot of inspiration from Hinduism, Buddhism, and more for Naruto. And I thought that with everything else, he might have added the idea of the stomach as the source or atleast the reserve

3. CE and Chakra are both affected by hand signs, strong emotions, and injuries.

Now obviously these similarities exist because Gege took a lot of inspiration from Naruto and other shonens. While they are similar, CE and Chakra have different identities when you look at all the aspects of each. Chakra also has 400 plus more chapters than CE to be further explored.

But despite that I still went with Chakra and CE being two sides of the same coin.

Why?

This crossover is the reason I did that. CE and Chakra have their own identity even in this fic, but by making them somewhat interconnected, I can easily insert Naruto gaining CE without the headache of how Naruto would acquire a foreign energy without having been born into it. Plus with CE and Chakra having a same coin connection we can do a lot of natural intersections, like how chakra could affect a Cursed Technique, or how Naruto's wind nature affinity affects his CE, or how Black Flash could affect Naruto's own understanding of chakra or how could a binding vow effect a jutsu?!

Anyways, how Chakra and CE relate. Find out in the next chapter.

[ Omake: Naruto Discovers That Yami Is a Chūnibyō ]

Naruto and Mimiko are sitting together, reading the next chapter of Bleach. Naruto is thoroughly enjoying himself.

MIMIKO: "Ichigo, what is the difference between a king and his horse? I don't mean some childish riddle like 'One is a person and the other is an animal' or 'One has two legs and the other has four.' If their form, ability, and power are exactly the same, why is it that one becomes the king and controls the battle, while the other becomes the horse and carries the king?"

NARUTO: "...Wait, what?"

MIMIKO: "What's wrong?"

NARUTO: "How do you know Yami's quote?"

MIMIKO: "Yami's quote? Naruto, I'm repeating what's written in the manga."

The color drains from the boy's face as a horrifying realization dawns upon him.

NARUTO: "...YAMI."

[Scene Change: The Field of Reeds.]

YAMI: "I welcome thee to my realm, mortal. Here, beneath the crimson moon, where the boundaries between light and darkness—"

SLAP!

YAMI: "OW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

NARUTO: "SHUT UP!"

YAMI: "HOW DARE YOU STRIKE ME IN MY OWN REALM?!"

NARUTO: "I'm gonna keep hitting you until you tell me what I need to know!"

YAMI: "...What?"

NARUTO: "DID YOU QUOTE THE KING AND THE HORSE SPEECH FROM BLEACH AT ME?!"

Silence.

Yami slowly turns his head away and begins whistling innocently.

YAMI: " La la la... The winds of the abyss whisper strange things... "

NARUTO: "DON'T YOU DARE WHISTLE AT ME!"

YAMI: "I have no idea what you're talking about."

NARUTO: "OH, REALLY?!"

Naruto grabs Yami by the collar.

NARUTO: "Actually, now that I think about it, you used Tatsumaki Senpūkyaku from Street Fighter!"

YAMI: "..."

NARUTO: "YOUR CURSED ENERGY SHADOWS ARE JUST GOTENKS' SUPER GHOST KAMIKAZE ATTACK WITHOUT THE EXPLOSIONS!"

YAMI: "..."

NARUTO: "AND YOUR CURSED ENERGY RASENGAN IS LITERALLY PICCOLO'S SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!"

A long, agonizing silence follows.

NARUTO: "...YOU'RE JUST STEALING COOL SHIT FROM ANIME AND VIDEO GAMES!"

YAMI: "SILENCE, FOOL!"

Yami throws his cloak dramatically over his shoulder.

YAMI: "What you call theft, I call the convergence of a thousand forbidden arts! The Tatsumaki Senpūkyaku is but a fragment of the Tempest God's divine wrath! The Super Ghost Kamikaze Technique is a mere imitation of my legion of spectral warriors! And the Special Beam Cannon—"

NARUTO: "PICCOLO."

YAMI: "—IS THE ABYSSAL LANCE THAT PIERCE—"

NARUTO: "PICCOLO!"

YAMI: "—THE VERY FABRIC OF EXISTENCE!"

NARUTO: "IT'S A BEAM THAT GOES THROUGH PEOPLE!"

YAMI: "YOU DARE QUESTION THE PROFOUND DEPTHS OF MY POWER?!"

Yami spreads his arms as a gust of wind blows through the field.

YAMI: "I AM THE SHADOW THAT LURKS BEYOND THE EDGE OF REALITY! THE UNDYING FLAME THAT BURNS IN THE HEART OF THE ABYSS! THE ONE WHO STANDS ABOVE THE HEAVENS AND BENEATH THE INFINITE DARKNESS!"

NARUTO: "..."

YAMI: "I AM—"

NARUTO: "You're a Chūnibyō."

Silence.

YAMI: "...What?"

NARUTO: "You're a Chūnibyō."

YAMI: "I AM THE EMBODIMENT OF YOUR DEEPEST HATRED!"

NARUTO: "YOU'RE A CHŪNIBYŌ!"

YAMI: "I AM THE DARKNESS THAT CONSUMES WORLDS!"

NARUTO: "YOU'RE A TEENAGER WHO THINKS HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER OF A DARK FANTASY NOVEL!"

YAMI: "I HAVE EXISTED SINCE THE DAWN OF CREATION!"

NARUTO: "AND YOU STILL ACT LIKE A THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD WHO JUST DISCOVERED HOT TOPIC!"

YAMI: "I... I..."

Naruto suddenly drops to his knees, clutching his head.

NARUTO: "NO..."

YAMI: "What is this? What are you doing?"

NARUTO: "I'M WORSE THAN SASUKE!"

YAMI: "WHAT?!"

NARUTO: "I THOUGHT HE WAS BAD! I THOUGHT HE WAS THE BIGGEST EDGELORD IN THE HISTORY OF THE SHINOBI WORLD!"

Naruto grabs a fistful of grass.

NARUTO: "BUT AT LEAST HE HAD THE DECENCY TO BE ANGRY ABOUT HIS FAMILY! I CREATED AN ENTIRE ALTER EGO WHO TALKS LIKE HE'S AUDITIONING FOR A MID-2000s ANIME!"

YAMI: "I AM NOT AN ALTER EGO! I AM THE—"

NARUTO: "I'M A CHŪNIBYŌ!"

Naruto collapses face-first into the grass.

NARUTO: "OH, GOD. I'M A CHŪNIBYŌ."

YAMI: "Naruto, please. You must understand. There are forces at work here beyond your comprehension. The darkness within you is not a mere childish fantasy. It is the manifestation of—"

NARUTO: "YOU NAMED YOURSELF YAMI."

YAMI: "..."

NARUTO: "THAT'S LITERALLY JUST 'DARKNESS' IN JAPANESE!"

YAMI: "IT IS A NAME OF GREAT SIGNIFICANCE!"

NARUTO: "YOU COULDN'T EVEN COME UP WITH AN ORIGINAL NAME!"

Naruto slowly rises to his feet.

YAMI: "...Naruto?"

Naruto reaches into his pocket.

YAMI: "What are you doing?"

Naruto pulls out a Glock.

YAMI: "..."

NARUTO: "No one will ever know."

YAMI: "NARUTO, WAIT! YOU CANNOT KILL THE DARKNESS WITH A MERE MORTAL WEAPON!"

NARUTO: "WANNA BET?"

YAMI: "I AM YOUR SHADOW! YOUR PAIN! YOUR HATRED! I AM AN INSEPARABLE PART OF YOUR VERY SOUL!"

NARUTO: "THEN YOU'RE GOING DOWN WITH ME, YOU CRINGE BASTARD!"

YAMI: "THE ABYSS WILL REMEMBER THIS BETRAYAL!"

NARUTO: "THE ABYSS CAN SUCK MY—"

BANG!

Silence.

[Scene Change: Mimiko's Room.]

MIMIKO: "...Naruto?"

She looks up from the manga. Naruto is sitting beside her again, staring blankly into the distance.

MIMIKO: "Are you okay?"

NARUTO: "...Mimi."

MIMIKO: "Yes?"

NARUTO: "If I ever start talking about the abyss, forbidden powers, or the darkness beyond the heavens..."

MIMIKO: "Yes?"

NARUTO: "Shoot me."

MIMIKO: "...What?"

[Deep inside Naruto's soul, a voice echoes.]

YAMI: "FOOLISH MORTAL! YOU CANNOT SILENCE THE ENDLESS NIGHT! I SHALL RISE AGAIN, STRONGER THAN BEFORE, AND WHEN I DO—"

NARUTO: "MIMIKO, GET THE GUN!"

MIMIKO: "NARUTO, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"

Until next time,

Well, I mean once I kill someone... The choice of 'killing'... Will come into my life, I think. The value of life will become ambiguous... And I'm scared of not knowing anymore... The value of the people I treasure..
