"To put it plainly... Naruto is not a Homosapien."
Geto and Suda were completely gobsmacked.
"When the first lab reports came back, I ordered the technicians to completely recalibrate the machines," Doctor Kurosawa continued. "I assumed it was a severe contamination error. But after four separate blood panels, an ultrasound, and a full-frame CT scan, the data remains... identical."
"What did you find?" Suda asked.
Meanwhile Geto wasn't that surprised. He knew Naruto was from a separate universe. For the boy to be genetically different wasn't that far-fetched.
"The first big surprise the boy gave us was that he doesn't possess modern ABO blood group markers," Doctor Kurosawa said, trying not to use too much medical jargon. "Naruto's red blood cells carry a unique set of surface proteins. It is an entirely unknown blood classification."
Suda and Geto remained quietly attentive as the doctor slid a series of X-ray films into the illuminated lightbox on her wall.
"Naruto's skeletal structure appears superficially human. But the cortical bone layer is drastically denser, interwoven with an incredibly flexible collagen matrix," the doctor explained, tracing a glowing white femur on the screen. "His rib cage is structurally more compact and barrel-shaped similar to a Neanderthal."
"Are you suggesting Naruto is a Neanderthal?"
"Oh, no. The patient belongs to a separate, highly evolved sister branch of the genus Homo," Doctor Kurosawa corrected, retrieving a detailed MRI scan. "Furthermore, my team discovered this highly intricate secondary network running parallel to his nervous and cardiovascular systems. I cannot definitively say if this is a hyper-complex lymphatic variant or something else unique to this new hominid."
"Couldn't this simply be a rare genetic mutation?"
"That's why I authorized an immediate NGS panel," Doctor Kurosawa replied. She reached into her drawer and pulled out a stack of colorful genomic charts.
She tapped a stark red line running along the apex of the top chart.
"A typical mutation alters a few scattered base pairs. What we are analyzing here is evolutionary divergence. Naruto's DNA possesses the standard 46-chromosome architecture, which means he could theoretically interbreed with a modern human. Much like early modern humans and Neanderthals. However, his genetic distance from modern humanity is... massive. I don't know how that's possible."
"Was he successfully treated?" Geto intervened. To the monk as long as the boy possessed Cursed Energy, everything else was trivial background noise.
"Regarding his recovery... he seems to have spontaneously regenerated the vast majority of his internal trauma," the doctor said, her voice dropping into an awestruck whisper. "My team barely had to repair the surface-level injuries before his body took over. Honestly, his DNA sequence is beautiful to look at."
"Beautiful in what way?"
"His genomic sequencing shows a hyper-active variant of the telomerase enzyme, which actively corrects cellular replication errors in real time. Based on his projected rate of genetic decay, this boy's natural cellular lifespan is biologically engineered to easily exceed 150 to 200 years," the doctor said before noticing the blank expressions on the duo's faces.
"I apologize," she cleared her throat. "I became too enthusiastic. The idea of discovering a living, breathing new species of human in the modern age is... overwhelming."
"How many people are currently aware of this discovery?" Geto asked.
"At this moment, me and my hand-selected team know," Doctor Kurosawa replied confidently. "We have securely locked down these test files. We will keep this data strictly to ourselves until we receive your permission to initiate broader clinical research on the boy. In exchange for your cooperation, I will personally guarantee that the top medical minds in Japan will protect and monitor him inside this VIP wing… entirely free of charge, of course."
"No."
"Huh?" Doctor Kurosawa was stunned. She assumed the offer was good. A comatose boy would receive world-class medical surveillance, and his guardians wouldn't have to shoulder the costs of maintaining a permanent room in the VIP section of The University of Tokyo Hospital.
"The answer is no," Geto repeated.
"Sir, if I may push back… this is arguably one of the most monumental scientific discoveries of the last decade! A new human species! Genetic strands that could unlock a global breakthrough in cellular regeneration, life extension, and—"
The doctor's voice suddenly cut off like something was in her throat. Her eyes widened in fear as her hand flew to her chest. A sharp, agonising pain shot down her left arm as her heart violently stuttered. The oxygen left her lungs in a sharp gasp. The brightly lit room seemed to spin as a crushing weight settled over her chest, starving her brain of air. Her face went entirely pale as beads of cold sweat broke out across her wrinkled forehead.
Despite the old woman experiencing a heart attack, neither Geto nor Suda moved to help. They watched with bored expressions. As Doctor Kurosawa hovered on the precipice of death, she finally saw the horror sharing the room with her. Hovering directly over her shoulder was a Grade 2 curse. It possessed a long, disheveled head that hung limply beneath an orb of fungus. Tangled strands of matted black hair dangled into the doctor's face.
"This curse spirit has clogged your arteries with mold," Geto said with a smile. "Please, don't expect a painless death for your crimes, Doctor."
The old woman's fingernails dug into the mahogany desk, her eyes silently screaming a simple question: Why?
"Because a filthy monkey wanted to cage and exploit a sorcerer," Geto replied. "I swore that never again would my divine people be used by you parasites! To think you looked at a god like Naruto and saw a lab rat for your little medical breakthroughs is an insult to the natural order."
Click.
Whew.
The door to the office abruptly opened. A young nurse stepped inside, holding a fresh chart. "Doctor Kurosawa, the patient in VIP Room 4 is has woken up from his co—"
The nurse's words died in her throat.
"Doctor?! Oh my god, Doctor Kurosawa!" The nurse rushed past Geto and Suda, her instincts overriding her shock as she dove straight toward the desk. She pressed two fingers firmly against the old woman's carotid artery while simultaneously reaching for her spectrallink device. "Help! We have an unresponsive staff member in the Chief's office! Initiate a Code Blue, VIP Pavilion, fourth floor! Get the crash cart in here right now! I need a bag-valve mask and an AED, immediately!"
"I'll go talk to Naruto. While you find out every single name on her laboratory team," Geto whispered to the woman as they stepped out into the corridor. "I will personally assign a curse to make their deaths look like suicides. And Manami?"
"Yes, Geto-sama?"
"Erase everything. I want every trace of Naruto ever stepping foot into this hospital utterly erased from history. If a monkey so much as remembers his name, pull their tongue out."
"Understood, Geto-sama."

Geto opened the door to Naruto's room only to be greeted by a bizarre sight. Standing by the bathroom doorway was an exhausted nurse, holding up an IV bag connected to Naruto, who was currently peeing.
"I'll handle this."
The nurse's face turned a shade of crimson at the monk's handsome appearance and presence. She practically fanned herself with her clipboard.
"Oh! Is... is this your nephew?"
"Leave," Geto said with a disgusted expression.
"Whatever... the doctor will be with you shortly. Get this signed, asshole." She gave the monk some paperwork before leaving the room with a curse around her neck.
Geto held the IV line steady as Naruto washed his hands.
"How long was I out?"
"One week," Geto replied.
"What about the twins?"
"They have already been discharged from the hospital," Geto replied, as the boy sat down on the edge of his mattress. "A few months of quiet rest should be more than enough for them to fully recover."
The boy barely looked like he had been in a coma. That made Geto wonder how much Naruto's unique physiology could benefit from CE reinforcement.
"How are you, Naruto?"
"I'm fine."
Naruto looked up, finding Geto staring right back at him. Something about the monk's gaze made the boy feel exposed.
"I'm fine."
Geto reached out to gently cup Naruto's face. The little boy leaned into the warm contact before his mind could even consciously decide to resist it.
"You aren't. But you will be once we go home. That much I am certain of."
"...Have you ever been that close? To not making it, Old Man?"
Geto's eye twitched. "I am only in my twenties."
"Yeah, the nineteen-twenties!"
Geto let out a smile, understanding that the boy was simply trying to break up the tense atmosphere. "Early in my career, before I understood my own limits well enough to work around them. And once, much later, on a mission that involved a stupidly strong monkey."
"Geto-san. I have to ask. Are monkeys your ultimate arch-nemesis or something? What did they do to you?"
Geto chucked, finding it amusing that Naruto thought he was talking about actual monkeys rather than the filthy, non-sorcerers. "I'll tell you when you are ready."
Naruto huffed before a more serious thought surfaced in his mind. "How common are special grade curses?"
"Rare, relative to the overall curse population," Geto replied. "But common enough that grade one sorcerers are stationed in dedicated teams specifically to handle them whenever they appear."
"So I could run into another one out there."
"More than likely, yes."
"Do you think... do you think I have a chance against a special grade on my own?"
"Can you use the red energy?"
Naruto's eyes widening. "How do you know about that?"
"When I first found you months ago, you were barely being kept alive by that very energy," Geto said, shocking the boy completely. "And I sensed the same energy against Gashadokuro."
Naruto opened his mouth to speak but closed it just as quickly, unsure of what to say. Did he have to explain the Kyuubi to the monk? His mind scrambled backward at the idea that thew kyuubi kept him alive before he woke up in japan. He owed the Kyuubi a lot more than he had ever realized.
"I'm not asking you to explain yourself," Geto added. "Whatever that power is, it belongs to you. I won't push you."
"Thirteen years ago, a giant nine-tailed fox demon attacked my village. My father fought it... and he sealed it inside me the night I was born." Naruto said after a moment. "It was an open secret back home. To most of the adults, I wasn't just a kid with a demon sealed inside him. I was the demon. I was the fox that killed their families and burned their homes. The monster just wearing a kid's face."
"Is the Kyuubi a cursed spirit?"
"I don't know. All I was ever told was that it was a calamity," Naruto said quietly.
"And I imagine you don't receive the credit you are rightfully owed."
"Credit for what?"
"For containing it," Geto said. "I don't believe just any child pulled at random could hold a power of that magnitude. Whatever you are, Naruto, you aren't ordinary. And it isn't just because of the fox."
Naruto stared at him, searching the monk's face for the look he had grown so used to seeing in adults.
"You're not scared."
"Logically, I should be. From what I sensed, that demon outclasses any special grade curse I have ever encountered," Geto said, meeting the boy's gaze. "But I have watched you put yourself between danger and the people around you. So, while the fox itself frightens me... I trust the person containing it."
Something cracked inside Naruto's chest.
He had spent his entire life hearing a lot of things said about him. What he was, what he was supposed to be, and what he would never become. He had heard pity dressed up as kindness, and fear dressed up as authority. He had spent years building a loud, obnoxious personality just so he couldn't be ignored by a world that wished he didn't exist.
Yet, in all his years, nobody had ever said those words to him.
I trust the person containing it.
Hot tears rolled down before he could stop them. With a choked sob, Naruto hugged Geto. He buried his face against the monk's shoulder... crying. Geto simply held the boy, a satisfaction resting behind his calm eyes.
When Naruto finally pulled back, his face was an absolute mess of tears and snot.
"Will you train me?"
Geto looked at him calmly. "Why?"
The final words of Yami Naruto echoed in his mind.
"I can't use the Kyuubi's power anymore. I want to get strong on my own," Naruto said. "When there's something precious to protect, I want the strength to protect it to be mine. Not through luck, or the Kyuubi, or anything else."
"That is a good answer."
"So you'll do it?"
"We start in a few days," Geto replied, patting his head. "Once you have actually rested."
Naruto sat up straighter, a bright grin returning to his tear-stained face. "Thank you, Monkey-Hating Sensei!"

Author Note: With that, the chapter comes to an end. I hope you guys liked it. Now, onto the Q and A!

Q: Why can't Naruto understand written Japanese? The language in Naruto is written Japanese, as shown in the anime and manga. The easiest examples are Kakashi's book and the kana on the gates of Konoha.
Okay, so this question was asked by a guest on AO3. And this question connects with the idea of why I added that Naruto is a different species of human.
To explain this, you need to understand that JJK as a verse takes place IRL. Like, the story of Jujutsu Kaisen takes place in 2018 Japan. Compare that to Naruto, which takes place in its own fictional verse. So, I wanted to reflect this idea of Naruto being a foreign entity in this world.
Like IRL, just going to another state will show you how people speak differently. Similarly, I wanted to have Naruto being from another universe matter. His language might look like Japanese, but it is its own thing. He might look like a human, but he is a species of human that evolved due to chakra being a factor.
Ultimately, these are changes that I think add a lot of character to this crossover. What do you think? Do you like it, hate it, or are you indifferent to it?

Q: Are the Spirals Naruto's CT? When is Naruto gonna start using CE and CT?
Well, the spirals are unique to Naruto's CE, but are they his CT? Find out next time on JJK x Naruto. Jokes aside, what do you think the spirals are? Are they his CT or something unique to Yami Naruto?
Now, Naruto will start using his CE soon. As for the CT, that might take a while to come into the story.

Adam: So that's all for this time. I hope you enjoyed this chapter of Naru- Wait, what's that noise?
Whistle that comes from something falling
Adam: Wait, why is my name being mentionn-
Crate with an Omake sticker on it crashes on top of Adam
Lumierr: 'Cause I and the Omake you ordered have arrived.
The new one attempts a superhero landing
Lumierr: ...Ow. I think I broke my wrist doing that. Ow, ow, ow.
Adam, muffled by the crate on top of him: That's why I told you to stop with the landings! You keep hurting yourself!
Lumierr: Yeah, yeah. Anyway! Hello, dear readers. I am the beta reader for this magnificent work of fanfiction and amazing author! I will be appearing from time to time with Omakes for you to read. Fair warning: I am nowhere near as good at writing as Author-sama, so please temper your expectations.
Adam, pushing the crate to the side: Everything hurts.
Lumierr: Anyway, I have to get this dude to the hospital, so enjoy the Omake and see you next week! Byeee!

[ Omake: Geto and his Monkey. ]
The mansion was quiet. Nanako and mimiko were braiding Naruto's long blonde locks. Negi was reading a book. Suda was typing on a laptop, and Miguel was drinking rum in the garden. Larue was looking through a fashion magazine.
Geto entered the room with a smile. Resting comfortably on his shoulder was a chimpanzee.
GETO: Everyone, meet Charlie. It turns out he has cursed energy, so he is going to be joining the family.
CHARLIE: Ook.
The room froze as everyone just stared.
NEGI: Why? Just… why, Lord Geto?
GETO stroking Charlie's head: Because, Negi, a non-sorcerer is a monkey. But a monkey with cursed energy? That makes Charlie a sorcerer. And we protect our own.
SUDA: I'm looking at our monthly budget, and I am seriously wondering about the cost. Do you know how much fresh fruit a chimp eats? Plus veterinary care? Are we putting him on our dental plan?
LARUE: Oh, he is absolutely darling! I want to put a bow tie on him. Can we, Suguru? He needs a little flair if he's going to be a part of this family.
MIGUEL: I don't care. As long as the monkey doesn't touch my black ropes or my rum, he can stay.
NARUTO: I thought you hated monkeys!
GETO: I despise monkeys not monkeys. And charlie here is special.
CHARLIE: WOOOOO! Yeah baby! That's what I've been waiting for! That's what it's all about! WOOOOO!
Everyone: ...
CHARLIE: I mean ook.
SUDA: Okay, if we write him off as a tax exemption for 'religious research,' we might break even. But he needs to generate his own income. Can he exorcise curses?
GETO: He's trying his best, Suda.
Larue pulls out a bright red, sparkly bow tie and approaches Charlie.
LARUE: Hold still, handsome. Let's make you fabulous.
CHARLIE: This looks like something cooked up in a lab to personally insult me
GETO: Be nice, Charlie. Here is your treat.
NARUTO: This family is weirder than the Akatsuki. I'm going back to the Hidden Leaf.

That's It… For Now.
I want to thank you all for taking the time to read, comment, and follow along with this story. Your feedback means more than you know, and it helps push me to make each chapter bigger, sharper, and more true to the worlds of Naruto and Jujutsu Kaisen
Until next time,
I don't know how I'll feel when I'm dead, but I won't regret the way I lived.
