Chapter 11 - Chapter 10

"I thought these Pokemon only lived in Johto." Forest was surprised.

He looked at the injured pokemon in front of him. It was panting hard and was in obvious pain.

Forest's eyes went wide, practically coming out of their sockets. One thing was going through his mind.

'I have to catch this pokemon!'

He had never seen a blue-rated pokemon other than Igna.

Forest looked at the Ratatta "Do you want me to help him?"

The Ratatta nodded its head very fast.

Forest then spent a bit figuring out what was wrong with the Houndour.

"Ah, he must have had a run-in with a Butterfree" Forest said after checking on him.

The Houndour couldn't move and had signs of being poisoned.

After staying in the Viridian Forest for the time he did, he learned some things. One of those things is to leave Butterfree alone!

Although they looked fairly harmless, the mixture of Poison Powder and Stun Spore is a dangerous one.

One at a time is okay, albeit barely. If you were just poisoned, if you got to the right berry in time you could be okay. And if you were just paralyzed you would just have to wait it off.

Still, by themselves they are already dangerous enough, imagine them together. You are poisoned and you can't move. Basically a death sentence for a lot of wild Pokemon.

Forest wasn't panicking though, he could help the Houndour.

Like in the games, there were berries that would help with status effects. Though they didn't fully cure like in the games, they helped alleviate it.

Forest pulled out 2 kinds of berries.

A blue one, and a pink one.

Because they looked similar and had similar effects, Forest called them Oran and Pecha berries respectively.

He didn't have anything to cure paralysis yet, so they would just have to wait it out.

He then put the berries into a bowl and mashed them together.

Forest found that when mashed up, berries have a better effect.

"Okay Houndour, this will make you feel better, so eat this." Forest said

The Houndour couldn't move, but he could still move his eyes. He stared at Forest with a complicated look.

Forest mistook the look for something else, however.

"Oh! You can't move.. oops" Forest said feeling embarrassed.

"Okay, I'm going to help you eat, please be calm." Forest said.

Forest was slightly worried that the Houndour would freak out or something and bite him. Though that didn't happen.

Forest finished feeding the Houndour when he noticed something. The sun was starting to go down.

"Oh no!! The directress is going to kill me!!" Forest exclaimed

He then took out some more berries and put them on the ground

"Here, I have to go, but eat these for now." Forest said hurriedly

"I'll come back tomorrow, C'mon Igna!" Forest said as he was getting up.

The Houndour still had a complicated look on its face as it sat there staring at the duo leave. He wasn't panting as hard and was no longer in as much pain as it was before.

Forest and Igna followed their steps back out of the forest and ran home as fast as they could.

Alas, legs can only move so fast. By the time he got back, it was already very late.

Although he got an earful from the Directress, he could only think about one thing.

The Houndour.

He wanted to catch it.

Forest lay in his bed and could barely get any sleep. It was as if his excitement for getting his first pokemon was coming back two-fold.

"Tomorrow!!, I'll catch him tomorrow!"
