Ahh I feel asleep. I guess cultivation can't replace good old fashioned sleep. I hope I'm not becoming a cultivation addict. I stand up and stretch my wings. I do my morning introspection and admire my inner self and my core. Damn I'm one fine bird. Time to get to work. I take off and start looking for snakes. My Crow pride is on the line and I can't afford another failure.
After circling the trunk of the tree a few times I spot those worms again. My anger starts to boil over that stink had barely disappeared thanks to cultivating and sleeping through the night. I ignore my vengeful thoughts and continue looking for the snakes. I found one after a few minutes of searching and I stare at it for a few seconds before making a decision to attack. I am a hunter and you are my prey. I dive down cautiously learning from my mistake from those heart rending worms.I definitely don't need to startle it. I need to end this quickly and decisively. I strike it from the back I dig my talons into its head. It felt too easy, maybe because I'm rank 1 or maybe it's the Grand Astral technique. I'm sure my talons aren't supposed to be this sharp or hard for my rank.
I can think about this later time to bring mother a gift hehe.. I bet she'll love the gift. I flew towards mother.
hello mother I have returned from a successful hunt I said as I hovered just above her. I placed the snake in my mother's nest and then landed just outside. Good work! Oh my child isn't an idiot! I'm so happy! She started to Caw with great fanfare which made me angry and frustrated. I would have successful hunted a snake earlier if you had just told me what the damn thing looked like! I proclaimed a bit miffed at the situation.
Okay okay my son maybe it was my fault just a little bit but you should have asked for the information too. Grrrr she's not wrong I thought. Yes you are correct mother. Let's just say we both made mistakes and move on.
Alright my son. Why did you bring your hunt to me? She said in an inquisitive manner. I thought you would like to eat something since you refuse to leave the nest since you are watching over my siblings. My what a thoughtful son I have. Fufufufu Sure son leave it here I shall accept this here meal on your behalf but what about you? Have you eaten yet?
No mother I have just finished hunting this snake and I am about to go hunt one for me.
My son take a little bit it's not good to go hunting on an empty stomach what if your stomach makes noise while your hunting and alerts your prey? Wise words mother. "Of course I am a bird brain after all." She said exuming pride. ignoring the birdbrain comment ,I partake in the generous bounty that I have proclaimed. Ahh it tase so good!! Is it because of my hunger?or my taste buds that have changed so much since I become a different species. Ah I need to get more this was so good. So I quickly decide to set up my second snake hunting mission of the day and head back down to procure more nourishment.
I land on the lowest branch near the ground and keep my head on a swivel and try to listen for sounds of movement but It's very quiet almost deafining . I feel danger my feathers start getting erect and I jump off the branch and flutter away just a second later and the snake would have bitten me. It bit right into the branch I was on and hissed loudly it stared right at me it's eyes red and it's snake tounge flickering in and out of its mouth. We both looked at each other and I started the attack I used my Thunder Crow flames and shot right at the snake but it coiled up and jump towards the ground it landed like a spring with its tail hitting the ground first and it uncoiled and slithered off into the bushes.
I want to chase after it but I decided not to I haven't gotten strong enough to confront a snake of that level yet. It seems like their scales are harder since it was able to could and jump like that. It might even be a rank 1 snake or close to reaching rank 2 but still rank one. I shake the thoughts out of my head and continue to look for food. I find another snake but it scares look duller it must be a weaker variety than what I just fought. I attacked it and in the same pattern I dig my claws into its back and.give it a swift peck on the head and before you know it it had died. Killing this snake had not put me in a better mood just knowing there was a much higher level snake out there that seems to like targeting birds has me on edge. It is definitely a higher rank but because I can fly I am at an advantage but what if it ranked up? These thoughts wouldn't leave my head as I flew towards mother's nest .
