I can't describe what kind of a vicious cycle we had fallen into; we were desperately trying to reason with crowds motivated not by knowledge but by the words of some charlatans, but what we couldn't see was that we were slowly losing our own standard and rapidly descending to their level.

"Rimel, we're under the effect!"

The young girl, while arguing with an auntie running her mouth about her, would be startled by my voice; when I checked from the party screen, there was no effect on us, but I still had to ask our healer to be sure.

"I'll wander around whenever I want, do I have to ask you? You should keep your own son, whom you couldn't raise right, on a leash!"

Still, our girl had finished her sentence; she was putting the ignorant fool, who came at her with a stupid-ass argument, in her place.

"Big Bro Max, there is no effect, but by the looks of it, the mobs managed to back us into a corner!"
