Chapter 90: Symbol of PeaceAuthor: Geraint
Returning home after the conference with All Might, both of them were exhausted from facing the barrage of questions from the media outside the building before they finally entered Might Tower.
"It's hard to be this famous," Ichika panted.
"This is just the beginning, Falcon. Revealing your identity as the vigilante Captain Falcon will attract even more attention. You don't even realize how famous you are because you've been too secretive."
"Why did you have to announce your retirement early? I heard your secret was exposed, but why now?"
All Might looked down thoughtfully.
"Falcon… with All For One dead, One For All lost its purpose. I'm grateful you defeated the symbol of evil and fulfilled the mission for me."
"Uh… about that, Dad. All For One is still alive."
All Might's jaw dropped in surprise.
"How's that possible?! I made sure and checked his body myself! He was confirmed dead!"
"Yeah, technically dead, but he has a quirk that lets him possess someone else. We have to find that person and use my right hand to completely erase his remaining consciousness."
"I see… With All For One being so cunning, what you say might be true, especially considering he almost died fighting you."
"I guess you could say I really take after him — but in a good way. The two of us just won't die."
"Yeah, I'm glad you don't have his evil personality."
"Hehe… I'm bad, but not evil."
When they entered the living room, they found the girls sitting silently in an awkward atmosphere.
"Hm? What's going on?" Ichika asked.
Toru stood and faced him directly.
"Huh?" Ichika tapped her shoulder hesitantly with his right hand.
Peeeeeww!
Toru, teary-eyed and furious, slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch me!"
"Eh? What's wrong this time?" Ichika looked confused.
"Are you really Captain Falcon? Answer me!"
"Yeah… I'm Captain Falcon."
"Which one's the real you?! Yagi Ichika? Fujiwara Ichika? Or Captain Falcon?"
"All of them."
"Are you still hiding something? You're not really an old man—Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ichika-kun, that hurts!"
Ichika, now furious, pinched both her cheeks.
"Who are you calling an old man? Listen—this child form is my real form. I can't transform into Fujiwara Ichika or Captain Falcon anymore."
He lifted his shirt, revealing a big scar on his stomach, then turned to show his back.
"These scars…"
"Are from fighting villains as Captain Falcon. That's the real reason."
Toru touched the scar gently.
"Ichika-kun… you're too reckless."
"That's the harsh truth about being a Pro Hero. Not many of us get lucky enough to return alive from missions. It's a very risky job," Ichika explained, making Toru sad.
Himiko tugged at his shirt.
"Ichika-kun!"
"Himiko?"
"I'm thirsty." She showed her fangs.
"Oh, sure."
Ichika sat down on the couch, and she quickly straddled his lap, which looked very inappropriate, then bit his neck to sip some blood. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders like a hug.
Toru, Momo, and Nejire were shocked, jealousy clear on their faces.
"Hey!"
"How lewd!" Momo blushed.
"What are you two doing?!" Nejire started to complain.
"Don't worry, I'm just giving her some blood because of her quirk." Ichika explained.
"Yeah, but… it's kind of unfair," Toru said hesitantly.
"Himiko, stop taking advantage of your condition!" Nejire pouted.
"Mmmmh! Yummy!" Himiko loved his blood.
Watching this, All Might realized something about the girls having feelings for his son and quietly left the room.
Grandpa?
He met Roboco at the entrance.
"I'm going back to UA. I have a class tomorrow. I'll leave Ichika to you."
Yes… Be careful, Grandpa.
"I feel like I'm getting too old to be called Grandpa."
All Might transformed into his muscular form, then ran off and disappeared.
At the Hero Public Safety Commission, Mera was holding a meeting with the members, looking tired after the past three months Ichika was in a coma.
"So, Falcon himself revealed his identity to ease the public's worries. With All Might retiring from the frontlines, we need someone to inherit the Symbol of Peace. Falcon is the right person. He's also the adopted son of All Might. The Commission will not hesitate to support him fully and do everything to protect his name."
The other commissioners nodded in agreement.
"Didn't Falcon die not once or twice, but three times? Just how lucky is he to cheat death thrice?"
"But the Chief lost his ability to transform. His Captain Falcon form is dead, and now this adult form is too. If he dies again, there will be no next time. Our CEO won't revive, and the company we built will crumble without our pillar."
"That's right, we must do something and protect our Chief."
"The problem is he's too reckless. Whenever he finds a strong villain, he always fights alone, one-on-one. He never calls backup!"
"So the problem is the man himself. A genius, but also a muscle-headed idiot."
"Who will inherit his wealth if something happens? His robot daughter, Roboco-chan? Isn't she a robot?"
"The company is in good hands with her, but who will inherit the symbol next?"
Mera looked confused. The commission members were actually Ichika's subordinates. They treated their Chief like a king of a country. Ichika had more power than Mera himself, making Mera feel like a puppet. Yet Ichika obeyed orders and helped him sincerely—no bad intentions after taking over the commission.
An old man, silent until now, finally spoke.
"Ichika is passing a new law—a solution he thought of for our country's declining birth rate."
"Rejected!" they all said in unison.
"We accepted his idea of adults without partners attending government-sponsored marriage interviews, but this new 'law'… we're against it."
"It sounds delusional—like something out of manga or anime."
"I thought the Chief was joking when he proposed it. It's impossible."
"I can imagine my wife choking me to death if I brought home another wife. This 'Harem Law' won't fly."
"Yeah, my wife was cute and kind before marriage, but she turned into a monster afterward. Bringing another wife is a big no-no for me."
"I agree. I brought up this topic months ago and ended up sleeping in the park for three days straight. What was the Chief thinking?"
The commissioners grew dejected from the topic itself.
The old man suggested,
"How about a trial run? We use the Chief as an example. I've heard many girls live with him. Someday, one of them will give birth to the rightful Symbol of Peace and protect our country. That way, we secure the next Symbol—and let him taste his own 'law.' Win-win."
There was a pause before everyone nodded vigorously.
"That's right!"
Mera just groaned, rubbing his temples.
(To be continued.)
A/N: Hahahaha! I'll fix my mistakes later.
