The three of them earned a much needed respite and ate their lunch together.
It was an awkwardly silent meal with the three of them glancing around them for fear of another high ranking individual crashing their peace.
An hour passed and the trio regained their calm. They started speaking to one another once more, talking about the most random of things just to pass time as they waited for Misho's return.
"What time is it?" Pear casually asked.
"There's still an hour before he returns."
Maia looked around them.
Most of the other guests had finished their lunch course meals. Some portions of the food were left untouched, showing just how much luxury these people lived in. They didn't feel the need to finish everything.
The whole ballroom erupted into a loud cacophony of overlapping conversations and polite, high-pitched laughter.
At the corner of the room, classical music started playing, further masking the ballroom in an atmosphere of liveliness and elegance.
