Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: He is her fiancé

After sitting for a while, Rebecca Quentin suddenly remembered something important. Yes, it was the items in her travel bag. Isabella Joanna had mentioned that she would need to make use of them tonight. Uh... she really should get prepared first.

Opening the travel bag, Rebecca took out the few sexy nightgowns inside. Despite mentally preparing herself, when she saw the nightgowns in her hand, she still froze for several seconds. Good heavens, were these clothes? Pink, spaghetti straps, sheer, chiffon... How could she possibly wear these? Never mind the transparency; the pitiful amount of fabric probably wouldn't even cover her bottom, would it? But Isabella had said that many women wear such things for their husbands in private. So, should she wear one too? What would happen if she did?

With a skeptical attitude, Rebecca pinched one of the nightgowns and went to the full-length mirror in the room. She held it up against herself in front of the mirror, then cautiously glanced around to make sure no one was watching. Only then did Rebecca decide to change into the nightgown and give it a try.

However, no one could have expected it. Just as Rebecca had finished changing into the sexy nightgown, the sound of a door opening suddenly came from the bathroom. Following that, a tall, imposing male figure emerged.

"AAAH!"

Accompanied by her own shriek, Rebecca reflexively crossed her arms over her chest to cover herself.

The man, fresh from a shower and with only a bath towel wrapped around his waist, frowned slightly, seemingly irritated by the sudden scream.

Staring warily at the newcomer, Rebecca stumbled back. "You... you... How can there be someone here?"

The man narrowed his eyes, observing Rebecca, who looked like a frightened rabbit.

Smooth long hair, innocent features, a fine figure...

Her identity was self-evident. However, she seemed even more beautiful in person than in her photos.

Feeling embarrassed and indignant at being stared at so intently while wearing the sexy nightgown, Rebecca snapped, "Hey, what are you looking at? Turn around, now!"

The man, however, didn't let her embarrassment linger. He gentlemanly turned around and walked straight to the wardrobe on the side.

Rebecca quickly shucked off the nightgown and changed back into her own clothes.

After changing, Rebecca finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, the moment she looked up at the man, she froze.

God, what... what was he doing?

It turned out the man in front of her had no inhibitions whatsoever. He simply dropped his bath towel and proceeded to change his clothes right there in front of her.

After putting on his shirt, the man turned to Rebecca and calmly stated, "Howard Geoffrey. Your fiancé."

"Ah?" Rebecca was still half a beat slow. It wasn't until his words fully registered in her mind that she stammered, "Uh, you... you are..."

Howard Geoffrey didn't repeat himself. Instead, while adjusting his tie in front of the full-length mirror, he said, "I just got off the plane. I have some urgent work matters to attend to, so I need to step out for a bit. I won't be back too late."

Heavens, he was her fiancé! How foolish of her—who else could a man appearing in this room be?

Because her mind was a complete muddle, all Rebecca could do was blankly respond, "...Oh."

Watching Howard Geoffrey turn to leave, Rebecca remained rooted to the spot.

However, just as he was about to step out of the room, Howard Geoffrey suddenly turned back. He looked at Rebecca, his expression unhurried, and said in a perfectly even tone, "I forgot to tell you. When you wear that kind of nightgown, I prefer it if you wear nothing underneath."
