Chapter 840 - Chapter 819 ( Confusion - I )

Yue was silent for a few seconds before she shook her head and walked over to Cloud and took him carefully because he was again starting to experience mana deficiency, which left her confused for the second time in a row - "Why?"

That question hovered in her head before she decided it was best to wait for the others to come to so she could return to the outer camp.

* * * * * * * *

"Did you feel that?" - Dienleed asked as he frowned slightly.

[Yeah, that thing... wait... what are we talking about?] - Alva replied, confused about the whole situation. He was sure they were talking about something important, but from one moment to the next, he felt he had forgotten the reason for his host's question.

Dienleed also frowned as he felt this strange sensation run through his body.

"Is something the matter?" - Shea asked as she looked at the old vampire with a frown.

"I want to ask you a question..." - Dienleed said as he looked at the rabbit girl and ignored her inquisitive look - "Why isn't my niece back yet?"

"Didn't I tell you before?" - Shea replied while shaking her head - "Was it because.... Are? Why was it that she stayed behind with the others?"

Dienleed's expression changed when he heard this because it was obvious that something had happened, something so important that it had caused everyone to lose their memories of something that was now unknown.

[It looks like that irregular did something dangerous] - said Alba seriously while laughing slightly - [It's either that, or his power is greater than we thought, which is good because that means Ehit's final fate is decided]

"I'm more worried about him using that power against us" - replied Dienleed with a frown.

[First we have to analyse the situation, for now, we are the only ones who have a bit of information, at least until the irregular arrives] - said Alba as he started to think - [And I think I understand the reason for our current confusion]

"Please continue" - said Dienleed with slight curiosity.

[If my deduction is correct, then the irregular made the existence of an extremely dangerous creature disappear, one that could bring about the apocalypse of the world if left alone long enough, which is why we were worried about the well being of our attack weapon against Ehit] - answered Alba seriously - [How I came to this conclusion, is quite simple, we remember everything but the reason for the battle]

Dienleed nodded at these words, though his expression changed slightly when he saw how his niece was walking next to a group of wooden golems, which were carrying all the team members, though her expression stopped at the irregular, who was unconscious and with an extremely low magic level - "Is it a side effect of her possible technique?"

[It would make sense, I mean, directly interfering with a creature's existence has to be an enormous power for someone who is just touching the territory of divinity] - replied Alba seriously - [This is exactly why I feel that he won't be able to repeat this miracle, at least not for a long time, and let's say that's the least we have]

Dienleed nodded when he heard this because he shared this opinion - "I guess we'll have to continue with the plan"

[Exactly, although this doesn't affect our plans much] - said Alba while shaking his head.

"Ok, I think that's enough of internal monologues, I have to go and talk to my niece" - mused Dienleed while frowning slightly.

[I hope everything goes well] - said Alba before hiding, at least for now.

Dienleed slowly walked over to Yue, who gave him a complex look. It seemed that Shea and Belta had told him about their insecurities about their stay, so this was the right time to be able to talk honestly about their current situation.

"Uncle..." - Yue said as she looked at the old vampire with a frown - "Is there something you want to tell me?"

"Yes, though I'd like to do it when everyone is awake, so I don't have to explain myself twice" - Dienleed answered honestly.

Yue frowned even more, though she quickly nodded, she still felt she could trust her only familiar, not out of nostalgia or a sense of camaraderie at being the last members of vampire royalty, but because she instinctively felt he was being honest.

Dienleed let out a small sigh of relief that his niece was being sane even in this bizarre situation with almost all of her team unconscious. What he didn't know, was that Yue gave him the benefit of the doubt because he hadn't done anything even when Belta and Myu-chan were the only ones in the place, after all, her loyalty for Cloud and his group, was far greater than this feeling of familiarity she had for her uncle. If she had to choose between the two, Yue would without a second thought choose Cloud and the others.

'Yue-san...' - Shea said with a frown.

'Then we'll talk,' Yue repeated earnestly.

Shea stared at him before nodding, though he could tell she was still a little hostile against the old vampire.

Dienleed didn't take it personally, after all, he understood why this girl wasn't happy about this situation. Their group was unconscious, and the old vampire's power level was still unclear.

Yue ordered the wooden golems to leave the girls in their respective rooms, while she took Cloud to his room so she could administer some mana regeneration supplies that had been left over from the last incident.

"Seriously... I don't understand why you always end up like this..." - Yue muttered as she watched the blonde boy rest with a relaxed breath.

"Yue-san..." - Shea said as she entered Cloud's room - "Can we talk?"

"No need, I understand what you mean..." replied Yue as he shook his head - "For now we can trust my uncle..."

"But..." - muttered Shea with a frown - "Are you completely sure that he won't do anything now that we're weak?"

"I can't say for sure completely because that's impossible, but I want to believe in him one last time" - replied Yue honestly - "My instincts tell me that I can trust him"

Shea was silent before letting out a sigh - "I understand.... Oh, right, I was forgetting to ask you something because I panicked when I saw everyone unconscious"

"Speak" - Yue muttered while giving her a confused look.

"What happened after I left with Remia-san?" - Shea asked, confused about the situation. She remembered that she had taken Myu's mother because they were about to fight an extremely dangerous battle, but the more she thought about the enemy, the more confused she became because she felt like there was nothing there to begin with. It was as if she had stepped out of an illusion, the enemy existed, but at the same time it didn't.

Yue frowned when she heard this because she too was confused - "I'm not sure"

"Huh? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?!" - Shea exclaimed in surprise because she wasn't expecting that answer.

"I'm just as confused as you are" - replied Yue as she looked the rabbit girl straight in the eyes - "At one moment, I was terrified because I felt like we were all going to die, but from one moment to the next, everything went back to normal..."

Shea was silent because she sensed that the vampire girl was going to continue with her words, and she wasn't wrong.

"I remember how my heart was pounding before I calmed down" - Yue muttered as she shook her head - "It was at that moment where I saw Cloud fall unconscious, so I want to assume that he did something, although what, I'm not sure"

Shea maintained her silence before letting out a sigh.

The answers she had gotten, had ended up generating more questions, in other words, she had ended up worse off than at the beginning of the conversation.

"What I can tell you for sure" - said Yue, pulling the rabbit girl out of her thoughts - "is that we were saved by a miracle"

"Eh? Why do you say that?" - Shea asked in surprise.

"Because I remember Cloud was desperate before he fell unconscious" - replied Yue neutrally while clenching her fists - "He looked like he was about to break"

Shea's eyes widened, surprised with these words because she didn't expect the blond to react so strongly.

"This is why I'm sure we were about to die..." - Yue muttered as her blood began to drain from her hands because of how tightly she was squeezing them - "It makes me feel so helpless that I couldn't do anything to prevent the situation..."

"Now you make me feel so much worse, Yue-san" - sighed Shea as she bit her lip - "I couldn't participate in that battle..."

"No, believe me when I tell you it's better this way" - Yue said seriously - "I may not remember that monster, but I instinctively feel how close I came to losing everything I love... and that's not something I'd like to share..."

Shea was silent before nodding weakly.
