Chapter 844 - Chapter 823 ( Planning - II )

Lyutillis fell silent before nodding weakly - "I understand.... I don't like it, but you're right..."

"It will take me between one to two days to be able to create the object, so I want you to be vigilant" - Cloud said seriously - "Amanogawa can appear at any time and attack while I'm busy, and I won't be able to intervene because I'll be completely focused on how to get back home"

"Understood" - the girls said while nodding firmly.

"Yue, Lyutillis, I want you guys to stay because I'm going to need some of your help for this" - Cloud said seriously - "You are the wisest with regards to magic in our group"

"Ok" - nodded the two long-lived girls.

"Belta, I also want you to get ready, I'm going to give you a ring with everything you need so you can buy some housing while you wait for our return" - said Cloud seriously.

"Huh? Me?" - Belta asked with surprise.

"Yes, when it comes to organisation, you are the most qualified to keep things calm, not to mention that being human, you won't have problems interacting with the inhabitants of my world" - answered Cloud as he let out a sigh - "I'll be honest, it's possible that the humans of our home will bother you for being different, that's why I'm going to trust you to prepare everything".

"I don't have a problem with it" - nodded Belta while looking at Remia, who was frowning, although her expression quickly returned to normal because this was something that also happened here in Tortus.

Cloud nodded as he began to think about how to create this "key" to open the rift between dimensions - "Ok, meeting over, you are dismissed"

"Hai!" - The girls exclaimed as they walked out of the room, leaving only the trio of blondes inside, who began brainstorming in order to get the project done as quickly as possible.

* * * * * * *

"The closer I get to my death, the more projections of the future I can see" - muttered Diene, who was wearing her hood to hide her wrinkled face - "I'd really like to see you again, sis..."

The girl was sitting on the roof of a house, watching how her older sister was ordering all the subordinates of the blonde boy she had been put in charge of - "However, I don't know if this is good or bad"

Diene was getting weaker and weaker, though this didn't affect her much.

She had managed to finish all of her preparations, and now all that was left was to wait for her time to come.

"I really wish things could have been different, but it's better this way, that she doesn't know I'm in this era..." - Diene muttered as she took a long breath - "So she won't have to suffer for my death a second time..."

[Are you sure about this?]

"Of course, though I wish you wouldn't talk when I'm thinking, my other self," muttered Diene with annoyance.

This voice was very similar to hers, and this shouldn't be a surprise because that voice was from her older self.

{Don't be so mean to the old lady}

And that was her younger version.

That's right, she could interact directly with her "I" from other timelines, all thanks to the fact that she was an existence outside of time itself.

It was strange, but at least with this she had the comfort of being able to talk to someone without fear of indirectly affecting them.

[How rude! I'm trying to help our other self] - the old voice snorted.

{You are not helping her, you simply want to fulfil our dream of being able to talk to our older sister one last time}," said the youthful voice angrily.

The two opposing versions began to argue while the adult version simply kept silent.

That's right, these two versions of herself, had lost Meiru.

The young version was because Ehit managed to kill her during the war, and the old version because she was sealed while her sister fought to the death. Ironically, they had both lost Meiru at the same age, but they had both had different experiences.

Diene let out a sigh before she painfully felt her body shrink, taking on the appearance of a girl of about 5 years old - ". . ."

The way we're going, I'd say you've got about two weeks left of existence]," muttered the elderly voice.

"I know, I can feel my internal clock getting more and more cracked, and there's no way I can fix it," Diene muttered while biting her lip. She had tried to save herself in every possible way, even with ancient magic, only to discover that it wasn't "time" that was affecting her, but the very laws of the world that were trying to erase her existence because it was indirectly affecting the dimension at large.

{That's a pity, if it was just a problem of temporal chaos, then you could have been saved, but this...} - said the childish voice in a complicated tone.

"I know, you don't have to repeat it, I already accepted my situation" - Diene replied while looking at her hands - "The only thing I wish, is to be able to end Ehit once and for all, so no one else will have to suffer what I went through..."

[You are stronger than me] - said the old voice as she seemed to be sighing with regret - [If I had discovered this, I would have killed myself in order to end my suffering]

{I... I don't know what I would have done, possibly I would have died during the first hour of pain as I couldn't take it anymore} - muttered the childish voice.

Diene simply kept silent as she felt the breeze brush against her skin, though her expression changed drastically when she felt a presence behind her - "I didn't expect to see a monster like you during my last days of life"

"Monster?" - The male voice repeated in a cold, emotionless tone.

"Of course, a human who let his existence be corrupted by an ancient god, if you're not a monster? Then what are you?" - Diene asked as she looked back in the direction of this man she didn't personally know, but had seen in her visions of the future.

The boy simply remained silent, as if ignoring her question, which caused the light blue-haired girl to click her tongue.

[How do you know about me, little irregular?] - Umbra asked as it took possession of Kouki's body.

"I know a lot more than you think, though it's not like you don't" - Diene replied with disdain, after all, she wasn't afraid of this fallen god, not when he couldn't do anything to her, in fact, she immediately noticed how this man was keeping his distance so as not to be affected by her curse.

[A woman affected by the temporal distortion, not to mention that you are a source of chaos that the dimension wants to erase] - Umbra said with a frown - [I didn't think I would see someone so interesting].

Diene remained silent as she continued to observe this god - "That you appeared near me, means that you wish for something"

[Indeed, I require your help in order to solve certain... problems...] - replied Umbra with a seductive tone - [I can help you out of your little problem, you just have to accept my request and sign a contract]

"Why should I?" - Diene asked while shaking her head - "You can't offer me anything I want, because I don't want anything"

[Not while, I can notice the look you were giving those humans, as if you wanted to be part of them] - Umbra said while walking close to the girl, though still keeping the distance to be affected as little as possible from the curse of the young girl in front of him - [I can fulfill it, I just have to kill two entities and your life will be back to normal]

"Pff" - Diene couldn't hold back anymore, so she started laughing louder and louder - "Oh god, this is so funny"

Umbra frowned when she saw this reaction in the girl - [Did I tell you a joke? ]

"Of course, think about it, an unknown person appears in front of you, and tells you that he can save you from the death that the dimension itself decreed" - said Diene while continuing to laugh with her hands on her small stomach - "If this isn't a joke, then I don't know what is".

Umbra's expression darkened, though inside he understood that his seductive words were nothing more than a bad joke on this woman. He thought that Diene was a girl in her early twenties at most, who would be easy to seduce and deceive, but it seemed he was wrong.

[I guess I was a clown in front of you... Huh?] - Umbra said hatefully as he resisted the urge to attack this girl.

"Por - su - su - pues- to" - said Diene with a huge grin, as if she was really trying to infuriate this fallen god.

Umbra took a long breath before turning around and retreating, after all, he understood what this girl was trying to do - [I'm not going to let you take me with you to hell]

"Oh, that's a pity" - said Diene as she shrugged her shoulders.
