BIOGRAPHY

Military Background

• Tool served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force, operating in classified conflicts worldwide.

• He fought in the Bosnian War, where a moment of hesitation while drunk led to a woman's suicide.

• This guilt shaped the rest of his life, teaching him the cost of inaction.

He later joined Barney Ross, helping found The Expendables, becoming one of its earliest and most respected members.

Entry Into the Cole Shaw Continuity

Tool's direct connection to Cole Shaw begins in Chapter 02 – Into Dark Water.

First Encounter — Cole Shaw Walks Into the Parlour

After receiving the system's Novice Mission and its five initial rewards (including his diluted super-soldier serum, invisibility cloak, Gun Mastery, Cubic Storage, and mission parameters), Cole Shaw sought intel on the Masori pirates.

He went straight to Tool, knowing the old mercenary kept a network of underworld contacts.

The exchange was simple, cinematic, and pivotal:

"Masori pirates," Cole said.

Tool studied him. "Ten thousand, cash. I'll send what you need.

And kid… if you don't have the ability, don't try. Those bastards aren't amateurs."

Tool took the money — but the moment Cole walked out:

"Barney… you might want to keep an eye on this one."

Tool immediately contacted Barney Ross — the only time since his retirement he gave such a warning. It signalled to Ross and The Expendables that Cole Shaw wasn't some reckless civilian — but someone dangerous, capable, and worth watching.

This phone call is what indirectly set up Cole's recruitment of The Expendables in Chapter 25 – Knights Recruited.

Joining the Round Table

When Cole invited Barney Ross and the original Expendables to join The Round Table:

• Tool joined as Senior Adviser,

• Armorer,

• Recruitment Handler,

• and NYC Intelligence Node.

He is not field-deployed—except by absolute necessity—but he is crucial to the organization's stability, especially for grounding new operatives emotionally and psychologically.

RELATIONSHIPS

Closest Allies:

• Barney Ross

• Lee Christmas

• Hale Caesar

• Yin Yang

• Toll Road † (Deceased — per Cole Shaw: Movie Multiverse canon)

• Gunner Jensen † (Deceased — per Cole Shaw: Movie Multiverse canon)

With Cole Shaw (Arthur):

• Tool respects Cole's cold discipline, intelligence, and lethal potential.

• He sees Cole as a "second-generation Ross" — the type who will carry mercenary warfare into a new era.

• Their relationship is quiet but mutually respectful: Tool recognizes leadership quality instantly.

───────────────

ROLE IN THE ROUND TABLE

PRIMARY:

• Recruitment Liaison

• Intelligence Partner (NYC / American underworld networks)

• Armorer & Tactical Support

• Psychological mentor to operatives dealing with trauma

SECONDARY:

• Cultural bridge between Expendables and Round Table's modern structure

• Veteran adviser to Cole for ethics, emotional caution, and long-term consequences of violence

• Tool is one of the few men Cole respects enough to listen to without argument.

───────────────

STATUS: ACTIVE (NON-FIELD)

Tool continues to serve The Round Table in a crucial support role. He will not deploy into combat unless the situation is catastrophic — but his eyes, networks, and wisdom guide the younger blades from the shadows.
