Of course the spearhead didn't like this, but what could he do about it? He grumbled under his breath, kicked a piece of dragon-scaled rubble, and shot a jealous look at Leo, but he knew my word was law.

I had passed over his share to the newcomer to cement a bond, a classic move to ensure the "pro gamer" felt the weight of his new loyalty.

"We are ready."

It took almost one hour before everyone had finished processing their shares and looting the remaining high-grade targets. The battlefield, once a cacophony of dragon roars and human screams, was now a silent graveyard of emptied inventories and cooling carcasses.

"Bring everyone on board," I said, pointing toward the massive deck of my chariot. I gave the formal permission for the thousands of survivors from Leo's militia to board the vessel. It was a tight squeeze for a force of that size, but the chariot's spatial enchantments and sheer scale held them. "We'll go back to Jersey City for now."
