As much as I wanted to review the notices sent my way, I felt a sudden drowsy spell. The action that happened before me was starting to catch up, and my mind became exhausted. My energy levels might be fine because I Leveled Up, but I witnessed my first battle in this new life of mine. Not a spar, or something hosted. This battle was spontaneous, and happened very quickly.
Isola found some time to cast a cleansing incantation, wiping away any lingering flames and at the same time, wiping off that horrible stench that was on Father. He dealt the most damage to Agnagarn, and he was soaked from it. The blood that is. This ain't the games, you know. Monsters bleed before they vanish back into the void.
Placing the greatsword back into his overcoat, Father quickly approached my side. He saw me yawning and stretching, and placed me into his arms. Turning around, he observed Isola nearby.
"Thank you for the assistance dealing with this matter, Miss Isola. I will take Naoto from here. And thank you too for watching over him, young one.", Giliath said, approaching the three witches. He initially glanced at Isola, and then shifted his eyes to Vita. I ignored the several notifications that I received earlier. There will be more time once we return home to review that information. We still needed to clean up, so I knew it wasn't the best time. Father's bloodlust was still leaking somewhat, and his presence was overbearing. Vita gulped a bit.
"It is us who should be apologizing, Mister Giliath. We already allowed Agnagarn to wander this far on its own, and we've been chasing it for a while. You managed to catch it at the tail end. I'm just glad we managed to destroy Agnagarn before it could cause irrevocable damage.", Isola responded, smiling.
"Umu. A job well done, you two. And you even managed to do your role for once, Vita.", Roselia said, nonchalantly approaching us. "I didn't think a soldier of your caliber hailing from the Empire would be enough to take down a Cryptid. It was a pleasant sight to my eyes."
"What's that supposed to mean, Grandmother?", Vita retorted, hearing that remark.
"You are?", Giliath decided to ask who exactly the Crimson Roselia was. To my surprise, he was shot down.
"Who I am is not important. It is unlikely we'll see each other again. If it wasn't for this Cryptid coming so close to a human's city, I would have not bothered coming at all.", Roselia responded back, appearing unamused. Yet hearing this only caused Giliath to grin.
"Is that right? Even if you do say that, I have a pretty good guess as to who you are. Very well, I will refrain from doing so.", Giliath said back. Roselia's eyes squinted a bit, observing the tall man who now had the violet-haired boy in his arm. It wasn't often Father did this. Not unlike when I was first born. I felt secure. It was cozy, and I was quickly drifting off into dreamland.
"Oh do you now?", Roselia asked, retorting with a grin of her own. She glanced her eyes back down at Vita. "Vita, where are your manners?", Roselia suddenly asked, snapping Vita back into reality.
"R-Right. Thank you for beating that giant wolf, mister soldier. I'll definitely have a good story to tell my little sister later.", Vita responded, smiling. Her little sister, eh? She must be referring to Emma Millstein. I wonder, she should be around my age. Maybe something can happen like how Father managed to set up future play dates with Elie? I'm not sure.
"Well it was a fight for the eyes. I managed to work up a nice sweat, and managed to stop the beast that was wreaking havoc on this Empire. It will be a tale to tell.", Giliath said, causing Vita to nod her head. As Father said that, Roselia turned toward Isola.
"Isola, make sure any lingering flames get put out. We secured our nearby surroundings, but it's likely that the wolf caused destruction elsewhere. I will take Vita and go on ahead. Don't make Emma wait too long, alright?", Roselia asked.
"Of course, Mother. I don't want to make Emma wait long either.", Isola responded, nodding her head. So they really were talking about Emma.
"Aww, can't I help with that?", Vita asked, pouting.
"No. We mustn't tarry any longer. Come, Vita."
"Alright, alright. Mister, let Naoto know it was nice to meet him!", Vita said, waving her hand at Giliath and the violet-haired boy in his arms. Naoto was now fast asleep, snoozing away. He wasn't in a rush to review those Gamer System notifications, once they return home, he'll see everything that he had obtained. Giliath nodded his head at Vita.
"Of course. I will ensure the barrier's safety with your departure, miss witch. You can leave the remaining cleanup to us.", Giliath said.
With that said, Vita approached the Crimson Roselia. Raising her staff high, the blonde-haired witch let her mana loose once again, and uttered an incantation. A warping spell. The two vanished from sight right then and there. Giliath then turned around to look at Isola.
"Cleaning this up won't take much, presuming you are a witch of similar caliber to her. It looks like you want to return to your daughter's side too, right? The quicker we can do it, the sooner you'll be able to.", Giliath asked.
"That's right. I don't want to make Emma wait long. I must say, your son does seem to be of similar age. Perhaps it won't be out of the question for the two to meet in the future.", Isola responded, smiling.
"Hahaha! I was sharing a similar sentiment. Especially as you introduced yourself as a wandering witch. Our house isn't actually far from this spot. Just on the other side of this forest. I'd welcome you to our home any time. If you're willing that is.", Giliath said.
"Fufu, that offer does sound quite tempting. And it is much appreciated. We're in a rather recluse village, to say the least. We don't typically let our young ones leave it, but it might be good for Emma to make some friends down the line, outside of the village that is.", Isola replied, nodding her head. "Should we cross paths again, I will bring Emma out. She's Emma Millstein, and as for me, Isola Millstein. She was named after me and Mother.", Isola responded.
"So it's Emma Millstein. I will note this name, should we ever cross paths again as you stated. Now, let us clean the rest of this mess up. Marquis Rogners' soldiers have been taking care of the open areas, so all we need to do is focus on the forest ahead of us.", Giliath answered.
"With pleasure.", Isola replied, nodding again. An unexpected duo soon got to work, a soldier and a witch. They had some aftermath to manage from battling with Agnagarn. The damage it caused wasn't exactly heavy, but if left untouched, it would likely destroy the rest of the forest before them. The two didn't want that to happen.
And as for me. Well, I didn't get to see any of this happen. I recalled the exciting battle Father and the witches had against the Cryptid, Agnagarn. I was recalling it during my dreams. It didn't take long before we returned home!
And what I received from the Gamer System will be explored soon!
