Ren didn't look back, but she could tell by his calm posture that he already knew what he was doing. She'd talk to him later—maybe with a little extra incentive. Money was a good motivator, and she was done dealing with Robert's arrogance.
Pamela's soft voice chimed in like a soothing bell. "It's just an item, everyone. I'm fine leaving this place empty-handed as long as we get firstblood. Isn't that what we agreed on?"
Silvia smiled, tension melting from her face. Leave it to Pamela—her best friend always knew how to calm everyone down.
