Chapter 1 - the academy examination

Gadze is an average boy with black hair and black eyes. as well as average height and average looks. he doesn't seem to have anything special on him and is dressed like a low-class nobleman.

he stands in front of the magnificent combat school. nervously looking around and appreciating the construction of the giant structure. the area where tests are being held is like a giant colosseum.

Gadze: [well that is the place where it all starts or ends. to tell the truth I can already guess that there are countless prodigy's here. I've crossed upon too many people such as this already. people who act like 50 even though they're 15. the scary part is that they actually look like they have countless years of experience. there are also people who look totally ignorant of this world and are actually blessed by gods. they tend to have cheat-like abilities. even the fact that I'm here is thanks to aunt vivy. if it wasn't for her I wouldn't even make it here. now I have to pass the test and avoid the terrifying people.]

an unknown person with white hair and a smug look. bumps into him. he's wearing a blue and white attire that looks like a high-class family's. "

an unknown noble: "move it you brat. cant you see that I the great Demys am walking?! trash like you who are scared and confused shouldn't even be here. even looking at you I can see that you are a hopeless nobody."

Gadze: "oh my apologies. of course, I won't bother you again." [damnit if I could I would snap you in half, unfortunately, reality is harsh and I'm not an idiot to pick a fight I can't win.]

Demys: "hpfh that's right know your place"

Demys passed Gadze as proud as if he had put a loser in his place.

Gadze: "I'd be pissed by now but I can't keep grudges for long. also even if I tried to go up against him even if I won I couldn't possibly afford it."

a girl approached him wearing the same kind of clothes as Demys but unlike him, she did not have a disgusted face when approaching him.

the mysterious girl: "I'm truly sorry about my brother he can be a classless moron because they raised him like one."

Gadze: "oh it's alright after all this isn't the first time this happened to me. oh by the way I'm Gadze what about you?"

the mysterious girl: "oh my apologies my name is Sumi. I'm unfortunately that oaths sister. although he doesn't seem like it, trust me he's not weak by any means. so be careful around him."

Gadze: "ok thanks for the heads up. by the way you sure are a total opposite of your brother. sweet and warm-hearted"

Sumi: "oh thank you but it looks like the test is about to begin let's head inside"

Gadze agrees and they both enter the testing colosseum.

Sumi: "well this is where we part ways, I hope you can pass the test".

Gadze: "same to you."

Gadze went into the colosseum prepared for what was to come.

he went to the sign-up stall.

the worker: "hello there this is your schedule. be sure to not lose it."

the first test was the physical examination.

Gadze: [thank god aunt Vivy made me work out every day. at least I'll get a little better with this.]

the test was a simple one. they had to punch a magical machine that would count their strength.

as he was waiting in line he heard amazement from people up ahead. as he looked he saw a boy with a muscular and tanned build as well as red hair and red eyes.

people were amazed because he got B rank in strength.

that might seem low but for a first year as well as a child it's fairly high. maybe even impossible.

to be more specific S-rank is bestowed on the people who are unreachable. they can destroy mountains with one attack. or are intelligent enough to calculate the future with only their wits.

A-ranks are the strongest knights or magicians in the country. which are only close to being a hundred of them in the whole world. meaning that being B-rank was no joke either.

Gadze finished his testing and went back to the person who gave him his schedule.

Gadze: "excuse me, sir. isn't there supposed to be a magic test here as well?"

the worker: "no this is the place where people learn how to harness their magic. so it wouldn't be fair to those who haven't mastered or even begun magic lessons to be tested in it. so the higher-ups decided against the idea until the third grade."

Gadze: "oh thank you for explaining it."

the worker: "no problem be sure to pick your scores up over there"

Gadze went to the scores booth and was handed his scores.

he got F-rank in strength, F-rank in speed, E-rank in intelligence, E-rank in endurance, and lastly F-rank in vitality.

His overall potential was C-rank.

Gadze: [yes with C-rank I might just make it into the academy.]

after that Gadze left the colosseum to return to the inn he was staying in.

the innkeeper: "well hi there Gadze how did you do on the examination?"

the innkeeper was a strong-looking middle-aged woman. she seemed like a sweet person by her expression.

Gadze: "hello Brenda. well, I'm not sure yet. I hope it will be good news."

Brenda: "I'm sure you're tired by now. I made you some food to eat go ahead and sit down."

Gadze: "thanks for the food I appreciate it. but I'm a little tired by now. so I'm gonna go up to my room and rest a little."

Brenda: "alright then."

Gadze went up to his room and laid down on his bed.

gadze: [jeez I'm so tired. I hope I'll receive the acceptance letter tomorrow and not a rejection. well, there's no point in worrying about it now. I gotta get some sleep.]
