Chapter 4 - Men are disgusting

Scott POV

I woke up in a familar room, and heard the ocean waves. It smelled of honeysuckle and lavender…must be the villa. I rubbed my eyes with my hands and massaged my temples as I sat on the edge of the bed. "Damn you, Sebastian", groaning at the swirling ache in my head.

"Are you awake now, princess?", someone nearby blurted out. I looked up and squinted trying to see who the man standing by the door was. "I didn't know it's me that you wanted to spend your honeymoon with. I should have prepared, man", he teased, handing me a glass of water, resting his one knee on the bed.

"Where's the damn kid? I'm gonna strangle that piece of sh..", gathering all my strength clutching on Lucas' shirt, that he almost spill the water all over the bed and on himself. My best friend choked in laughter as he balance himself on the soft cushion.

"Hey, hey. I don't know what your siblings are up to. But aren't you glad you didn't get married today?", Lucas removed my hand from him, tapped my back heavily and chuckled even more. "Your parents are really angry right now, I suggest that you stay here for a couple of days and cool things down. Besides, you're basically on leave at work for the 'honeymoon', MR. CEO. Your brothers are taking over in your absence. Sheesh! Now I'm soaked".

I slumped back in bed, with my eyes half open. "Are they now? ..And the girl?", I asked unconsciously.

"Oh, you care about her now? I didn't know you have a heart. Well, the girl ran out of the church crying. She's so heartbroken, no one knows where she is now.. hu.. hu.. hu.. ", Lucas said with his index finger on his eye as he fake cry.

"Like I really care", I snorted and opened a few buttons of my white long sleeves with one hand. My head is throbbing so much, my ears are ringing.

"She's stunning by the way. As in really breathtakingly beautiful, I can tell even under the veil. You should have at least meet her before the wedding, you're probably not here with me right now", Lucas said in an excited tone and slapped my thigh as he stood up. "Why don't you get ready for tonight, and let's have some fun, huh? You've been here several times, you know the way to the bar, yea? See you at 7", Lucas didn;t even waited for my reply. He went straight out and shut the door.

"I thought she didn't want to marry?", I mumbled and covered my face with the pillow.

LATER, at AUTHOR'S POV

Diana wore a red maxi dress with a long slit on the right side showing her thigh. Her dress fits her so well flaunting her perfect curves in the right places. Even the color complimented her fair skin. She braided her hair on the side, put on a light makeup and enjoyed her early dinner with the beautiful sunset from her balcony. She's used to being on her own, so watching her favorite view as the dark slowly swallow the pinkish orange sky was one of the things she truly enjoys. She found her bliss under the stellar sky alone, without feeling lonely. Something that she calls serenity.

Out of the blue, Diana thought of going to the hotel bar, since it was still early to call it a day. Kate have always encouraged her to drink ever since. Go to parties, meet new people. Finally, tonight, she have convinced herself to wear her strappy sandals and enjoy the night out. Walking towards the main hotel, she noticed a yacht and a speedboat berthed at the dock. "More guests?", she sighed to herself, hating the idea of getting into crowded places.

Diana pushed the glass doors of the hotel bar and restaurant open, and was assisted by the reception. The staff took her information, before she was properly welcomed to the bar. She crinkled her nose a little at the warm scent that filled her nose. In a moment, she calmed down and appreciated its sharp aroma. Even though the scents of tobacco, patchoulli and musk were strong, it ain't that bad after all. The entire space was dimly lit, and stylishly decorated with black furniture and a touch of wood. Just as she thought, there are so many guests. The bustling chats of the crowd defeated the classical music that plays in the background as she saunter her way in. Her eyes wandered, and noticed four VIP lounges at the right. All occupied. There's a glass wall with flowing water on the left and more cozy tables and seats. Just ahead, she found the beverage bar with ten tufted cushioned stools straight on. Eight of those bar stools were already taken.

As Diana entered the bar, she felt eyes turned to her. People gazed at her beauty as her fair skin glow in the bar's dim ambience. Even the band who were performing on stage followed her with an unrelenting stare. She went straight to the beverage bar counter and gracefully sat in the far left seat, crossing her legs... revealing her fair and slender leg. She listened to the soothing music while she tap the table with her fingers.

"What can I get you Ma'am?", the grey-haired bartender, who looked like he was in his late 40s, asked as he handed her the beverage menu.

"I don't know much, what do you suggest?", Diana curiously replied.

"I know what exactly to get you", the bartender winked and turned around to prepare her drink. After a few moments, the bartender gave her a blue 'slushy' drink with salt and a slice of lime at the glass rim.

"Here you go, a Frozen Blue Lagoon Margarita, especially made for the beautiful lady with the bluest eyes", the bartender slid the drink forward, with a warm smile.

"Thank you", Diana smiled at the bartender and stared at her drink.

"Please enjoy!", he added and moved away to attend to other guests.

Diana was curiously staring at her drink when suddenly, a blonde guy with blue eyes wearing a white shirt, a beige shorts and loafers casually approached her. The stranger leaned very close that she could feel the hair on his arms. "Is this seat taken?", he asked. He smell of rum.

Without looking, Diana moved away a little from his inching face to the point that she could already smell his alcohol breath. "I'm sorry, I'm too focused on my margarita I didn't checked if the seats around me are taken", she felt a little annoyed at the man who just took the liberty of barging in her private bubble.

"You should drink that, staring at it wont do nothing", he said as he place his hand on the backrest of her stool. Diana froze, but she still managed to scoot away from his awkward and uncomfortable gesture.

"I'm William, and you are?", the guy said as he move much closer, with his hand landing on her waist.

Diana stood up, sipped at least half of her margarita and faced him. She grabbed the man's hand and twisted it in a tight grip. "Not interested!". William wailed in pain and tried to withdraw his hand as he signal begging Diana to let go.

Turning to the bartender, Diana said "Please send the bill to my bungalow". She let go of William's hand and pushed him to the side. She was fuming in irritation as she walk out of the bar. 'Mom's right. Men are disgusting.', she thought.
