Chapter 473 - You Care...

Seven Sins System Chapter 473. You Care...

I nodded, allowing Red to guide me to a chair. Once I sank into it, Red went to get the medicine box.

She pulled out a bandage from it. She knew as well as I did that the mortal realm's medicines wouldn't do much for me. As a devil, my body rejected such things. Mortal remedies couldn't penetrate my being. But Red also knew my body's limits. She knew about my regeneration skill, how my wounds would heal slowly, like a human's, when they were caused by holy power.

She carefully wrapped the bandage around my hand, her touch light but firm, the soft fabric winding around the ugly, red wound that marred my skin. It wasn't about healing, not really.

She was just covering it up, hiding it from sight. She knew the others would notice if they saw it, and would ask questions, and she didn't want that. Neither did I. Better to keep this hidden, to let it heal quietly without drawing attention.

Her brow furrowed in concentration. I could feel her worry, even though she tried to keep her expression neutral. She was good at that—hiding her emotions behind a mask of calm. But I could see through it. She was worried, and it made me feel… something I didn't want to acknowledge. Guilt, maybe. Or regret.

"Thank you," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. It felt strange, thanking her for something so simple, but the words slipped out before I could stop them. It was something I rarely said in the past.

Red glanced up at me, her eyes meeting mine for a brief moment before she returned to her work. "There's no need to thank me, my lord," she replied softly. "It's my duty."

Her words were simple, but there was a depth to them. She had been by my side, had fought with me, bled with me, and had never once faltered in her devotion. It was something I had always taken for granted, but now, sitting here with her tending to my wound, I felt a flicker of something I hadn't felt in a long time.

"Red…" I began, unsure of where I was going with this. My thoughts were scattered, my emotions a tangled mess that I couldn't quite unravel. I wanted to say something to her, to reassure her, maybe, or to explain what had happened out there, but before I could speak, I felt it—a faint sensation, like a prickling at the back of my neck.

Someone was watching me.

My body tensed instinctively, my senses sharpening as I turned to the window, my face growing serious. A frown creased my forehead as I scanned the darkness beyond the glass, searching for any sign of movement, any hint of who—or what—might be out there. But there was nothing. Just the quiet night and the faint glow of the moon.

"My lord?" Red asked, her voice tinged with concern as she noticed my sudden change in demeanor. She moved closer, her eyes following mine to the window.

I didn't speak, didn't move. Instead, I pressed my index finger to my lips, signaling her to be quiet.

Red nodded, immediately falling silent, her gaze fixed on me, waiting for my next move.

I opened my palm slowly. "Greed…" I muttered under my breath. Three of my tentacles emerged from my body, twisting and writhing like living shadows. They slithered down my arm and transformed into shadowy creatures, their forms shifting and fluid, barely more than dark outlines.

"Go and find who it is," I commanded in a cold, low voice, my eyes narrowing. The shadow creatures moved swiftly, slipping out of the window through a small gap, their forms blending seamlessly with the darkness outside.

Red watched them go, her posture tense, her eyes flicking back to me with a mixture of curiosity and concern. She knew better than to ask questions, knew better than to speak when I was like this. She waited.

The room was silent. I could feel the tension as I waited for my shadows to return. But finally, they came back, slipping through the window as silently as they had left, their forms rejoining with mine as they delivered their findings.

Nothing. No one.

Except for a small roll of bandage lying on the ground, right where I had turned around. The shadows had picked it up and brought it back to me, placing it in my hand before merging back into my body.

I stared at the roll of bandage, turning it over in my fingers. It was an ordinary bandage, nothing special about it at first glance. But as I looked closer, I noticed something—something familiar. A faint magic flow in it.

My smile slowly bloomed on my face as realization dawned. But I didn't speak a word. 'You care…' I thought.

Red noticed the change in my expression, her brows furrowing in confusion. "My lord?" she asked, her voice cautious, uncertain. She had seen that smile before, knew it meant I had figured something out.

I looked up at her, still holding the bandage in my hand, my smile widening slightly. "It's nothing," I said, my tone light, almost amused. "Just an old acquaintance… checking up on me."

Red's frown deepened, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Who?" she pressed, her voice laced with a mixture of concern and irritation. She was always like this, ready to fight for me, to do whatever it took to keep me safe.

But this wasn't a threat. Not really. And I didn't want her to worry over nothing—or worse, to confront Puriel and escalate things further. I could handle Puriel; I always had. Besides, I wasn't even sure what I felt about her presence here.

"It's a secret," I said. I could see the flicker of confusion in Red's eyes, the way her frown deepened, her lips pressing into a thin line.

"A secret?" she repeated, clearly not satisfied with my answer. Her gaze bore into me, searching for something—answers, clarity, anything to ease the uncertainty she must have felt.

"Yes," I smirked. "It's a good thing for sure. You don't have to worry about it."
