A bat that looked older and bigger than the others, was already near Velten, who was standing in a defensive stance. The bat waved its wing trying to hit Velten in the neck but he used the sword to block it and pushed the bat away.
He then tried to swing his sword to attack the bat, but before he could move, the bat surprised him and quickly closed the distance between them and waved its wing again, leaving Velten with some slight wounds on his body.
Velten immediately jumped back and thought, "I didn't think there is a bat among them with this much speed"
The other bats didn't give him a chance to catch his breath and followed him to attack him. The normal bats were slower than the bigger one, so Velten didn't face much problem fighting them.
Velten dodged down and let the bats pass upon him. He then straightened and swung the obsidian dominator at full speed, before they could turn around.

The bats' bodies dropped dead on the ground, but the others quickly turned around and stopped for a moment before they launch at Velten again.
Velten held his sword with both hands and stood in a weird stance while getting ready to attack. However, things didn't go as intended.
"SQUEAK!!"
When the bats saw him take that stance, they made a loud squeaking. Velten moved his right hand and held his head as he suddenly felt pain in it. The bats jumped at the chance and attacked Velten.
The bats managed to leave some wounds on Velten's body, and some of them were quite deep. Nevertheless, when a bat tried to bite Velten's neck, Velten grabbed him with his hand and squeezed on its neck instead.
"Those damn bats," Velten thought with an annoyed look on his face "my head is hearting so much now, and this won't stop until I kill all of them"
Velten slammed it to the ground and crushed it with his leg. The bats were taken aback by this and stopped immediately.
The sound blast attack that they did was supposed to paralyze the target, but in Velten's case, it only caused him a painful headache.
Velten didn't wait for a single moment and immediately dashed forward. The bats tried to fly away when he swung his sword, but he jumped and sliced as much as he could of them.

The bats' numbers started decreasing, and after a few minutes, Velten got rid of all the normal bats. However, he was sure that he didn't kill the older one among them, and he didn't receive any rewards or Exp for killing the normal bats.
While Velten was thinking, he suddenly heard something. The echo of someone talking in a weird language was filling the place, and Velten didn't understand a single word of it, but after the voice stopped for a moment, it started all over again, but this time using the human's tongue.
"Human… You have committed the unforgivable to my family, but I can't really say anything but thank you"
"Eh?" Velten was looking at the cave wall with a puzzled look on his face when he heard that. Then white particles started getting out of the dead bats' bodies and heading in one direction.
"Now, I'll be able to reach my best form, using the remaining life power of my family"
When Velten followed the particles, he was shocked. The older bat's body started getting the shape of a human body, and it was getting stronger the more of those particles enters its body.
Velten tried to stop it, so he attacked the bat, but before he gets closer to it, the bat's figure became blurry and appeared again behind Velten.
"You… are weak," The bat said and punched Velten on the side, sending him flying in the air. Velten crashed into the cave's wall, and before he could move again, the bat got near him again and punched Velten in the face.
When the bat tried to punch him again, Velten moved his head slightly to the side to dodge its hit, and then focused all his strength on his hand and hit the bat in its belly.
The bat was sent a few steps back, enough for Velten to catch his breath. "I take my words back, you are pretty strong, human" the bat said while covering its belly with its wing.
"You really underestimate humans' strength, don't you?" Velten said and smiled. The look on his face then turned completely and thought "I said that, but my health is really low right now"
"Show me… what you got then," the bat said as it got excited and ran towards Velten.
Velten didn't have time to use any of his Status Points, so he just stood up and took an attacking stance. When the bat got near him, he swung his sword.
The bat's figure got blurry again, but Velten expected that and stopped his attack. The bat appeared again beside Velten and tried to hit him with its claw, but Velten dodged back and quickly attacked the bat with the sword.
The bat managed to barely dodge it, but the sword left a big wound on its body. The bat jumped back and said while holding his wound "How dare you, Human!!"
"I told you, right? You are underestimating humans' power" Velten replied with a smug on his face.
