Chapter 5 - A Pie or a Gemstone?

When the entire crowd had all gone, Henry finally saw the woman that had been talking the entire time.

And boy was he surprised at her, as she had a vibe about her that she unconsciously radiated and that was; plain, boring, stale, making no one very much interested in her as well as the blank look she had on her face.

She had light purple or violet hair with the same color eyeshadow, a long darkish green dress with a black belt around her thin waist with black boots. That and she had a wondrous figure, as Henry gazed at her closely, thick legs and wide hips with a large bust that he could estimate to be about an F cup, she was beautiful.

But the air about her made people move away from her and ignore her the moment she is quiet, even when she does speak, her monotonous tone barely drew attention to those not interested.

But for him, he could sense, that there was a lot more beneath this dull-looking rock that many have ignored as a simple stone at the side of the road.

'She is a gem.' He whispered mentally.

Walking closer Henry gazed into her brilliant turquoise eyes, she too looked at him with a blank face that would make many suddenly nervous and turn around.

But Henry just kept looking into those beautiful gemstones that she called eyes as he walked closer and closer to her as he felt her scent that was like a cool stream.

That and the subtle increase in heartbeat and breath that he could hear from her, not to mention a faint scent of lust but was soon cut off immediately.

'Man, this woman would be hard to read if not for my enhanced senses.' Henry mused as he let out a small smile.

What was happening to the woman was exactly as he could pick up.

She first saw him approach her, and she did was she always did to strangers and stared deeply into his eyes. But what would have been like where most males would avoid her intent gaze, this one looked at her with that those golden eyes that seemed to emit pure sunlight and she couldn't deny that the closer he got to her the louder and harder her heart was beating in her chest as she saw that smirk directed at her.

Doing her best to keep herself as normal as possible and controlling her emotions, there was no denying that he was the most handsome young man she had ever seen, though it was strange why he was coming towards her out of all people.

'Perhaps he needs help with something from me, there is no one that would come at me just to chat with me, sigh. Might as well get over with this so I return home and play with Boulder, as no pets are allowed at work.' Calming herself down to appear professional, she looked at the handsome young man that had his brows lifted up as he came to stop about a meter in front of her.

Being taller than her by a head and a half, he towered over her like a mountain coupled with his very impressive physique.

Normally she wouldn't even be bothered nor intimidated by anyone. For she was one that wouldn't even be phased if clouds suddenly started falling from the sky or the earth started cracking and demons started pouring out from the depths of hell.

But here and now at this moment, when she looked up to those twin suns which were his eyes and the mountain that was his body, she was hit by the scent that was carried by the breeze from behind him. She suddenly felt very small as if she was not standing in front of a fellow human anymore.

For a split second, she had an illusion that she was suddenly in a massive cave and she felt that there a many wonderful and extraordinary gems, rocks, and minerals to discover. The smell of rich earth full of rich deposits was deep, broad, unending, and full of mysteries to be unearthed by her.

She soon snapped out of it and looked at this man with even more interest than she had ever given anyone before, and they have not even been introduced.

Henry was amazed at this woman, the control over her emotions was good, but they seemed to want to run all over the place with him being so close to her. At first, was her slight lust, then it was the slight depression before being calm again, once he got close she almost lost control again; excitement, curiosity, interest, and wonder, before being reigned in once again quickly.

What was even more amazing was that all these happened without a change in expression at all, making him thankful for his powerful senses, though he did wish for the ability to tell what was going on in her mind.

Well enough of that, it was time for introductions.

"Hey there, lovely lady. Nice to meet you, my name is Henry Helving. You are?" He greeted calmly with a smile as he stretched his hand for a handshake.

She looked at him with a single raised eyebrow again without any changes on her face, then at his hand, then back again at him. Normally anyone would be sweating buckets at her facial look wondering if they had done anything wrong.

Not Henry, for he had picked up a slight increase in her heartbeat when he first spoke, slight nervousness and excitement too. It made him wonder what on earth about him is making her behave as such, sure he was good looking, there can't be more, right?

What he didn't know was the thoughts in her head, unfortunately.

'Oh, my geodes! His voice is as deep and resonating as the epicenter of an earthquake and filled with the momentum of a rock avalanche. Wonderful!' She exclaimed mentally as she ignored the compliment thinking that it was just a pleasantry, but it did make her feel slightly good, before reaching out to his outstretched hand to shake it as well.

Of course with the same blank look on her beautiful face.

"Hmm, pleasure my name is Maud Pie. Now, what can I do for you?" She asked straight to the point in the same monotonous tone as always.

But mentally thought that he mind be offended at her tone as he looked at her strangely, for the first time she got worried about how someone would think about her.

But Henry had other thoughts, 'Pie? Could she be related to Pinkie somehow? Perhaps it is one of her sisters, I remember that she has three sisters in that flashback of hers when she got her cutie mark in the Friendship is Magic series. Well, damn she is the opposite of that fourth-wall-breaking little sugar rush on legs!'

He thought before smiling and looking at this woman that seemed to have unknowingly clasped his hands tightly and not letting it go. Henry didn't mind at all, for her hands were warm and soft. In contrast to her cold and hard exterior.

Looking at this calm, stoic and indifferent-faced beauty that was shaking his hand, while picking up signs of nervousness, joy, peace, and excitement being faintly given off, Henry quickly came to a conclusion about the type of dere species he was dealing with.

'Ah, a kuudere in the making. Awesome, and one that I can also read. Not to mention she is hot and cute, who knew my first stop would be this interesting.' Henry thought.

"Maud Pie, lovely name. I just moved into the city yesterday and wanted to explore it, this is my first stop and I say I am loving what I am seeing." With a smirk he shot her a wink, causing her to look down for a moment while still holding onto his hand.

'So, is he flirting with me? Never felt it before, it is kind of nice.' She looked up and saw a small gentle smile on his face.

"Sure, also welcome to Canterlot city. I think it was an excellent choice coming here first I will give you an experience you have not seen before in a museum." She said, her face still blank but he could see a small smile on her face before it disappeared quickly.

Before he could reply, she pulled him along quickly,

"Come, as I show you around the various exhibits." Maud said with slight excitement that she herself didn't notice as she pulled him towards the displays, still not letting his hand since she had gotten it and didn't seem like she will for a while.

Amused at this, Henry didn't even bother to point this out and thought that it was best to go and enjoy the flow of things.

Soon enough it was annoying for Maud due to the fact that time went away in an instant.

She enjoyed herself in his presence unlike anything she had experienced, from his presence, scent, touch, and compliments she enjoyed it all and wanted to continue.

But she had finished showing him everything and now it was time for him to go.

Yet she didn't wish to release the hand she had clamped in her own little hand, it felt that this is where she belonged.
