Chapter 16 - Short Chapter: Valentine's Day Special

==

Crumbling skies and crushing earth, this was what he was looking at.

There is definitely beauty in destruction if one looked at it from a certain perspective, wasn't there?

The wise words, 'art is an explosion' rang true here as well.

Because it is a skill, talent, craft, and of course art, to destroy.

And to destroy is to free. As a lighting godly bear once said.

Which was really the case here.

These thoughts ran through Henry's mind as his shining golden yellow eyes held not much emotion as they reflected the flames consuming a world as it slowly but surely folded as if some power was exerting pressure on it from the outside making it collapse on itself.

This world is going to be forever lost within this galaxy, within this universe.

It was not as if he was lusting for carnage and world destruction, sure he was battle hungry at times but not at this level.

So there was only one thing that made him destroy a world and one thing only.

When it was his job to do so.

Many would frown at this as they would say how was this his choice to decide.

That was all well and true, but the choice wasn't by any mere individual that wanted to see their world burn either.

Instead, the request came from the world itself. Or more accurately, the Will of the world.

It wanted, no, it needed to die, as it, itself pleaded to him.

And it really did.

For this world had been infested by invaders, its original inhabitants long gone, none left at all on the entire planet. While a new civilization took over and they ravaged even the planet itself that it cried out, his message was akin to a lifeline.

And he answered the desperate call for help, for salvation.

He had honestly expected it to have asked him to drive the invaders off the world, as many others have done but the resentment it had was tremendous that it wanted to die with the invaders.

As such he let loose on the abilities and techniques he had gained and hone over the few months of doing this job, after all, it is not the first time he had to destroy a civilization, as well as kill a planet.

Just not this willingly.

This time it was different though, this time the planet's Will gave everything to him as he fought, it 'fought' with him, and it was a glorious battle indeed.

For you see, he too hated the invaders.

Reason?

Ogres, trolls, orcs, and lastly, goblins.

Billions of them, these pests had actually taken over a planet and destroyed every other species on it. More than half of the world was a desolate wasteland, perhaps some form of nuclear weapon fired by the original inhabitants to rid themselves of the green tide menace.

If he hadn't known well enough, seen and felt, he would have really thought he was in the Warhammer universe.

However, he really enjoyed this battle as he waded through enemy upon enemy, his weapons slashing, crushing, tearing, and burning through everything and anything be they flesh, land, water, and skies, continent-sized attacks were unleashed as he brought literal hell on earth, the air would break when his weapon waved in the air, magma and literal volcanoes would spew out of the cracked ground or would erupt by mere bashes of his weapons and skies would seem fall due to him summoning mountain-sized meteors to destroy enemies that were several continents away from him.

He felt like he was back in his realm again, he felt like a god.

And that was what the world's Will made him, as it had let go of all restraints on the physical laws of the world it governed and handed them all to him.

The green tide also fought back, they had no fear, perhaps wanted a battle as they all eagerly threw themselves to the mercy of his wrath and they had all manner of monstrosities on their side too, a testament that their conquest of this world was not just by luck.

They tried to escape of course after he had shown them that he was their doom, but all they tried failed, for he had locked down the world with the aid of the new laws as well as that of his powers that had been then amplified by them.

These creatures had the means to do it, whether it was by their own might or some entity aided them he was not sure.

This thought made him pause and look into the void, his dark pupils that had been enlarged due to his partial transformation seemed to devour the darkness that was the space around him, his large mane-like hair dancing hypnotically in the windless atmosphere he was in.

He sniffed, not as to really smell the air, no, he was taking in the scent of the chaos to come.

Henry could feel, and almost taste it, it was faint, but there was movement in the grand scheme of things. Something out there was brewing in the darkness that starlight couldn't reach.

But it was not for him to ponder over, he will just have to do his job and get ready to overpower anything and everything that will be thrown at him.

Even still, his large frame seemed to tense at the battles that he seemed to be feeling in the future, clenching his weapon that was currently in a halberd form.

He relaxed where he stood in the void of space looking down as this world was crumbling and folding into itself, or more specifically, being devoured by his realm, the Will of the world had after all given everything to him and he was going to take it all.

Though he had done a good job over the past few months, this was really the first time he is getting such a…

Gift.

Not every world would choose to willingly die after all, instead, they wanted a clean slate, to first rest and then begin anew.

If one thought about it really, he was akin to the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs back in his first world.

The thought made him smirk slightly, soon enough the light show in space died out as the last part of the world disappeared. Gone forever within the realms of the universe, even its moons followed along.

He now had a world of his own, and enough quintessence to give him a good boost that just two or three more jobs like the previous two to let him finally evolve, and once he does well the words 'plucking stars' would be a reality.

So all in all, it was a good gift he got today. And it is time he gave a few to his own back home. It really is a special day back there too, after all, no matter the chaos of the universe, he wants to enjoy the little things in his life.

But make no mistake, what he might describe as little things would be enough for him to destroy galaxies over.

First, though he might have to pop over a few planets and get his beloved ladies goodies and gifts, should he get one of them a moon?

With a ponderous smirk, he took a single step into the void and instantly vanished as if he had melted in the dark of space.
