"I say... I've had enough of pretending every day in front of you."

Annie Anne adjusted her clothes, yet her hand curled tighter under the blanket.

"Do you really think I can forget everything from the past? I am indeed an actress; I can act, but I won't deceive myself."

Not wanting to hear whatever answer Oliver Hudson might give, Annie Anne took a deep breath, as if she had composed her emotions.

"But I think the word 'self-deception' suits you quite well."

Oliver Hudson let out a cold laugh, then stepped closer to the bed, slightly bending down, enclosing Annie Anne in his embrace with his arms.

Such an action suddenly closed the distance between them; they could almost hear each other's heartbeats clearly.

"Is everything you're saying true?"

Frowning with some displeasure, he initially wanted to pull back, but Oliver Hudson's palm forcefully pressed on his wrist, leaving him unable to move.
