Rui's words rippled through the fabric of space and time, carrying with them a severe weight. The weight of the fate of human civilization. Rui gazed at them with expectation. They were the Martial Transcendents who bore many a burden, much of which was to protect human civilization. They had acted as responsible, but distant parents to human civilization, refusing to intervene too much, partly because of self-interest, but also because of a sense of duty, no doubt. He expected that they wouldn't hesitate to accept his request and take up the mantle to protect human civilization.
And indeed, there were those among them who didn't even hesitate.
"If it is to protect Gaia, then this one shall give up his life, if need be," the Shield of Gaia responded with conviction, balling his fists. "As long as I am alive, no force shall put so much as a scratch on Gaia. This is our solemn duty."
The old man looked ready to head over and fight right away. Thankfully, he wasn't the only one.
