Lucas Quinn and Charlotte Allison wanted to help, but Mrs. Hughes waved them off with a smile, saying, "No need, no need, I can still hold him up."
When Mrs. Hughes came out after settling Mr. Hughes, she saw that the dishes on the dining table had already been cleared, Lucas was washing the dishes, and Charlotte was standing beside him squirting dish soap.
Looking at the two of them, she couldn't help but reminisce about her younger days with Mr. Hughes, smiled gently, and quietly returned to her room without disturbing them.
After washing the dishes, Lucas and Charlotte wrapped themselves in thick, long down coats and headed out.
It was only around eight in the evening, and because it was cold, there weren't many people outside. Accompanied by the dim streetlights, the two walked slowly, leaving footprints in the snow.
Lucas held her hand, stuffing it together into his coat pocket, their palms sharing warmth.
