The next day, several ladies were having afternoon tea at Mrs. Daniel's house when they saw Miss Daniel being escorted home by Harrison Steven.
Harrison Steven was kept behind for a few words with the ladies, all of whom were discussing his marriage with Miss Daniel.
After Harrison Steven left, the ladies continued chatting with Miss Daniel, who blushed and soon departed after sitting for a while.
Mrs. Daniel pretended to scold them, saying, "Girls are sensitive, and you aunties are being inappropriate, spouting nonsense."
One lady said, "Your daughter is shy, but my daughter has a thick skin, no doubt about it."
Another lady laughed and said, "Just like you, shameless and relentless, talking non-stop. I just saw Mr. Steven blushing from your questions, let alone Miss Daniel."
Mrs. Shipton chimed in, "You know, both Mr. Steven and Miss Daniel blush easily; truly, they are a match made in heaven."
