After hearing Isabella Lowe's words, Polly Sutton couldn't shake off the feeling of unease, and her drowsiness had long vanished.
Victor Parker had already been keeping an eye on them, and he naturally noticed something was off between the two.
Victor Parker called Andrew Lindsey over and whispered a few words in his ear. After listening, Andrew Lindsey turned around and left.
Not long after, the staff brought coffee to everyone bidding in the competition to help keep them awake.
Andrew Lindsey personally delivered Polly Sutton's coffee and whispered in her ear as he set it down, "The CEO suggests coffee is best for staying alert at times like these."
Upon hearing this, Polly Sutton looked at Andrew Lindsey with a blank expression, and Andrew chuckled softly before returning to Victor Parker's side.
Polly Sutton peered through the crowd at the man seated at the head, thinking how he truly bore grudges.
The third presentation ended, and it was Isabella Lowe's turn. Before going up, Isabella glanced at Polly Sutton, then went over with her assistant.
"Polly, why do I feel something's not right? Is this woman going to stir up trouble again?" Emma Turner whispered in Polly's ear.
Polly Sutton frowned, watching Isabella's assistant copy the content into the projector. As the presentation appeared on the screen, Emma Turner suddenly widened her eyes.
Isabella glanced at Polly Sutton and began introducing her work.
When Emma Turner was about to stand up, her senior brother pressed down on her wrist, saying, "Stay calm."
"That's our design," Emma Turner growled softly. Although some parts were different, every design has its central idea, or main structure. Everything stems from this main illustration.
As a designer, one can instantly recognize the main structure of a design.
Polly Sutton clenched her fist, continually watching the woman on stage. The main illustration was in her hands and neither Emma nor her senior brother had it.
So, Isabella could only have taken it from her. But when did she take it?
Even though Victor Parker didn't understand much about design, he could tell from Polly Sutton's expression that something was wrong, as if she was holding back her emotions.
After Isabella finished and came down, she was about to say something to Polly Sutton but got a full cup of coffee splashed on her face by Polly.
"Shameless!" Polly Sutton's eyes were red; she wished she could tear the woman apart.
Isabella's assistant saw this and was about to step forward but was stopped by Isabella. "Miss Sutton, what are you doing? Even if you concede, you shouldn't be so uncivilized."
"Isabella Lowe, I initially thought you were just playing tricks behind my back, but I didn't expect you to fall this low. It's just a design. What if I gave it to you?" Polly Sutton said, slamming the cup down. "I just don't know if you can design anything else in the future."
After speaking, Polly Sutton turned and left immediately.
"Polly!" Emma Turner gave Isabella a fierce glare before following out.
Her senior brother packed up the computer and also turned to leave.
Outside, Emma Turner caught up with Polly Sutton. "What's going on? How did Isabella Lowe get our design's main illustration?"
Polly Sutton was breathing heavily, chest tight with anger, as if she had just conceived a child only to have someone maliciously move the embryo to someone else's belly and give birth.
Just...
Disgusting!
"Ugh..." Polly Sutton couldn't suppress her nausea, leaning against the wall and vomiting.
"Polly!" Emma Turner, frightened, quickly supported Polly Sutton.
Polly Sutton was dizzy and her vision started to blur.
"Polly," Victor Parker called out as he arrived, seeing Polly Sutton collapse.
Victor Parker caught her, holding her in his arms, his hand coming to rest on her forehead, which was covered in a thin layer of cold sweat.
Polly Sutton was taken to the hospital. Only after the doctor went for examinations did Victor Parker turn to Emma Turner and others, "What happened?"
Emma Turner hadn't expected Victor Parker to really follow, which confirmed her previous suspicions. He truly was the father of those twins.
"Isabella Lowe's design plagiarized ours this time."
"Plagiarism?" Victor Parker's face darkened. He'd thought Isabella's design looked familiar, but why would she do such a thing?
The doctor quickly returned. It was mainly due to overwork and sudden anger causing palpitations, nausea, and vomiting.
"I understand. I'll handle this," Victor Parker said, knowing Polly Sutton was okay, and left the hospital. He had other matters to attend to.
Her senior brother hadn't spoken until Polly Sutton was taken to the ward, then he asked, "What's the relationship between Victor Parker and Polly?"
"Can't you tell? The twins look exactly like Victor Parker. I've been saying her reaction to Victor Parker last time was odd," Emma Turner said, sitting by the bed and looking at Polly's pale face, hating Isabella Lowe to the core.
When Polly Sutton woke up, it was almost dark. Emma Turner hurriedly helped her up. "Your mother just took the kids home. How are you feeling?"
Polly sat up, her eyes still a bit vacant. Once she realized, she wanted to get out of bed.
"Where are you going?" Emma Turner helped her.
"Isabella Lowe might have seen my sketchbook at the hotel in M Country..."
"What's the use of confronting her now? If she only glanced at your sketchbook, who's going to prove it?" Emma Turner, now calm, pressed Polly Sutton back, making her sit properly. "If she planned this long ago, you'd be hard-pressed to guard against it."
"But you and senior brother..." Polly Sutton became angrier the more she thought about it, not at herself, but because her senior brother and senior sister worked so long only to have it taken by someone else.
"Forget it, Parker Corporation has already chosen the bidder," Emma Turner sighed.
"Is it Isabella?"
If it truly was that woman, she'd dare personally deal with her now.
"No, Victor Parker vetoed it. So they had to choose someone else from the other six," she heard after going downstairs.
It's said Victor Parker even confronted the board again because of Isabella Lowe's affair. No one knows what was said in the end, but the board all abstained, allowing Victor Parker's veto.
Victor Parker vetoed it?
Polly Sutton was a bit surprised. She knew this project was linked to Parker Corporation's direction for the next three years. She'd listened to the previous designs; they were conventional. The designs that followed might be the same, unable to save Parker Corporation.
Victor Parker must also understand that Isabella Lowe plagiarized her main illustration. Besides, Isabella herself is an excellent designer, so her designs can definitely be used.
But why did Victor Parker refuse?
Did he believe the accusations of plagiarism just because they said so?
Or did he believe her?
