There's no way to stay at home, so Victor took Tommy to a hotel, and got someone to send them some food on the way.
On the road, he told Andrew Lindsey about the modifications, asking Andrew to arrange for it.
After being silent for a moment, Andrew felt it was necessary to remind him, "Miss Sutton has been keen on getting a divorce from you, it seems she won't let you have custody of the child."
Victor: "..."
"Boss, did you forget this matter?"
Andrew's words were quite provocative.
"I heard you promised someone a month's supply of milk tea, in that case, I hope to see a cup of coffee every morning."
Andrew: "..."
He shouldn't have gotten himself into this mess.
"Haven't learned anything else, but you've sure learned her knack for courting trouble quickly."
Andrew looked at the call that had been hung up, then at the food in front of him, suddenly feeling he couldn't continue eating it unless he wanted to lose his job.
Polly Sutton had been busy; after his brother secretly got in touch, Benny found out that his brother was already at the hotel and was quite surprised, especially since Victor not only didn't get angry but even bought him some delicious food.
How is this different from what he imagined? Whenever his brother acted out, Mommy would spank him. How could a man with such a bad temper not get angry?
"Mommy, drink some water." Benny placed the cup on Polly's desk, frowning while watching his Mommy plan to stay up all night.
"Thank you, darling, go to bed, you don't need to take care of your brother today." Polly hugged her son's little face and kissed him. "Go sleep."
Benny nodded and climbed onto the bed, lying down obediently, watching Mommy start getting busy again with his little brows furrowed like a pretzel.
The next morning Tommy went to school and met up with his younger brother.
"He wasn't mad, Mommy would have spanked me till I couldn't sit by now." Tommy pouted and looked at his brother. "That uncle has a great temper."
Benny looked at his brother; knowing his brother's tendency for mischief, was that man's temper really so good?
But his brother wouldn't lie to him.
"Do you like him?" Benny asked his brother.
Tommy handed the little bread he brought to his brother, "Yeah, I like him."
Benny furrowed his brow even more deeply, how was there any chance of jumping ship?
When Victor arrived at the company, he glanced at the coffee on the desk and then at Andrew standing to the side, "How is the investigation I asked you about going?"
The little guy suddenly changed strategy, if he said no one was behind it, he would never believe it. But whoever is hiding so well can't be found, no matter how thoroughly they search.
"I checked at kindergarten, Tommy was always sent to school to play with classmates, no one's specifically been to see him, except for you." This was the news Andrew found, indeed, there was no one with ulterior motives influencing Tommy.
Victor leaned against the chair back, Polly Sutton?
Impossible, that woman is heartless, she wouldn't do such a thing.
Mr. Walker?
Mr. Walker is known for his integrity, wouldn't do it for money.
Who could it be?
"President Parker, it's time." The secretary outside reminded him the meeting time had arrived.
Victor rose and took the documents out, "Keep an eye at the school gate, if anyone contacts Tommy, inform me immediately."
"Alright."
The deadline for the bidding was fast approaching, Emma Turner and her senior brother also rushed back from the site a week before deadline to catch the final progress.
Victor went to see Polly Sutton a few times, she was always busy, so busy she didn't even notice he'd been by.
Time slipped into July without warning, when Polly was woken up at the desk, there were still three hours until the bidding started.
Polly hurried, took a shower, and went out with her senior brother and sister to attend the bidding at Parker Corporation.
Early in the morning, Parker Corporation's large meeting room was already set up, and all bidding companies had arrived.
When Polly and her team arrived at Parker Corporation, Emma Turner anxiously looked at Polly, "Are you okay? You don't look well."
"Been over 20 days without sleep, can I be alright? After this ends, I'll make sure to get some good sleep," her senior brother said concernedly.
Polly shook her dazed head, "This afternoon I'll go home and sleep till everything goes dark, and the universe turns into nothingness."
She really was close to being crazed from exhaustion but had to pull herself together for the presentation today.
But as soon as they entered Parker Corporation, they saw Isabella Lowe coming in with her assistant.
"Isabella Lowe, why is she here? Is she participating in the bidding?" Emma Turner asked curiously, they hadn't heard her name before.
"I don't know." Polly leaned her head on Emma's shoulder yawning, not interested in why Isabella was here.
This bid was determined by the Parker Corporation's board voting, so almost immediately after the presentations, the results could be announced.
When Polly and their team entered, the only available seats were by Isabella Lowe.
"What a coincidence." Isabella Lowe greeted Polly with a smile as she sat down.
Polly sat down directly, "There's no need to call it a coincidence when it's deliberate. I'm not Victor Parker, not gullible enough to fall for such insincere words."
Isabella Lowe remained indifferent to Polly's rude words, "There's two weeks left, the results of this competition will be out, who do you think will win?"
Polly glanced at the woman who kept trying to chat with her, "Are we that familiar? Such a talkative person should do stand-up instead."
"Isn't it because you're close with the judges and I want to get some advance information," Isabella Lowe replied lightly, her words full of sarcasm.
Polly adjusted her glasses and looked at Isabella again, "Miss Lowe, if you spend as much effort on your designs, surpassing me is only a matter of time."
Isabella Lowe wanted to say more but Victor entered with the Parker team, Isabella swallowed her words, but gave Polly a meaningful smile.
Victor paused when he saw Polly, after not seeing her for ten days how did she end up looking like this?
The reporting order was determined by a draw, there were eight bidders, Polly drew fifth, Isabella drew fourth.
"Looks like I'll go before you this time." Isabella placed her drawn number on the table, looking at Polly with a half-smile.
Polly placed her number back on the table, ignoring Isabella's words, fifth position was just good enough for her to nap a while.
Just as Polly closed her eyes, Isabella leaned over to her, "Polly Sutton, I guarantee you'll lose miserably this time."
Polly's eyes flew open, and Isabella was already seated properly, beginning to listen to the first company's design presentation.
