Polly Sutton was feeling guilty when a bright light suddenly rose outside the window.
"It's the sunrise." All her guilt vanished instantly. Polly looked outside, utterly amazed. Seeing the sunrise at thirty thousand miles high is more beautiful than seeing it anywhere else.
Running into a sunrise on an airplane also depends on your luck.
Polly was watching the sunrise while Victor was watching her.
Once back in City A, Polly would really start getting busy, wrapped up in design work, engaged in 3D modeling, otherwise, there just wouldn't be enough time.
Victor watched as Polly connected with her senior classmates and rushed out to get a taxi, not stopping her this time.
Andrew Lindsey came over with luggage from behind and spoke quietly next to Victor, "That person is the president of Shenmu Corporation, which mainly deals in various precious wood, and has a part of the business in construction timber as well."
Victor listened to Andrew while watching Polly's disappearing figure, "This matter is really getting more interesting."
When Victor returned to City A, the board members were all at the company waiting to question him about why he dismissed a hotel management team without consulting them, making a unilateral decision and disregarding their position.
Victor didn't go to the company but went to Daisy Joy Kindergarten instead.
Today, little Tommy proactively suggested he wanted to visit Victor's home because he felt like a good friend of his uncle now, even though he hadn't visited his uncle's house yet, he had been to Benny's house.
Victor listened to the little guy babble on about school and, upon hearing this, looked at little Tommy.
"Who's Benny?"
"My girlfriend." Little Tommy said proudly, even though Benny liked his younger brother, there's nothing he could do about it, he and his brother looked alike, liking the brother meant liking him.
Victor: "..."
Do you know this is early romance, son?
Calls from the company secretary came one after another, with Andrew Lindsey constantly appeasing the secretary, but Victor clearly had no intention of returning to the company.
Victor got out of the car with little Tommy. Tommy was held while his little hands hugged Victor's neck, his little head constantly turning, curiously observing the surrounding environment.
This place looks nice, I have to tell my brother when I get back.
"Leave those in the secretariat who can stay, and don't force those who can't," Victor instructed Andrew then took little Tommy back inside.
Andrew's hand holding the phone slightly paused, as if understanding something yet also not, each of Victor's actions seemed to be provoking the board, but those targeted were always the board's minions.
Little Tommy arrived at Victor's house, his big eyes sparkling as he observed around. The house was huge, even the living room was bigger than theirs.
Victor set him down, "Play for a while, uncle's going to take a shower, call uncle if you need anything, okay?"
"Okay." Little Tommy obediently watched Victor go, then started his adventures in the living room.
When Polly Sutton drew her designs, she mostly stayed home, having postponed plans on Qu Shui Liu Shang for now to concentrate on designs for bidding.
It was only when Benny returned that Polly realized something was amiss.
"Where's your brother?" Polly asked while holding a water cup, noticing that only one of her little ones had come back.
"Their classmate Benny said she was sick, and Tommy insisted on staying with her. I called Benny's mom, and she said Tommy is over at their place," Professor Lynn explained while changing shoes.
"Mommy, brother likes Benny." Little Benny spoke earnestly, not seeing anything wrong in outing his brother.
Polly Sutton: "That's my boy, so promising."
Polly said and looked over to her younger son, but Benny didn't mind his mommy's disapproval, put down his little backpack, and went to his room to play with his Lu Ban Lock.
Polly watched her son go inside and clicked her tongue, "He doesn't think his dear mommy coming back needs a hug?"
She missed her elder son a bit, but unfortunately, he was all about the little girl.
"He was really happy knowing you were back on the way, just a little shy, doesn't express it well," Professor Lynn laughed and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
When Victor finished his shower and came out, he found the outside eerily quiet, quiet to the point of feeling like there wasn't an extra child in the house.
When kids are quiet, for sure they are up to mischief.
This was a phrase Victor had seen recently, which now sounded clearly in his mind.
Victor opened the bedroom door and for a moment even thought the house had been burglarized.
Books and papers stretched from the study to the living room, and ink was everywhere, continuing all the way to the sofa, where little Tommy was currently seated; his face, body, and little paws were all covered in ink.
Victor turned to look at the open-door study, the desk's contents were long disarrayed, books from the shelves were randomly lying around on the floor, the unsellable ink he'd brought from the squad all spilled over. Fortunately, the bottle material was special and wouldn't break, otherwise he'd worry about injuring that little rascal.
There were black little footprints along the way, with sticky substances over them, probably broken eggs.
Victor: "..."
Tommy resembled a child picked from a trash heap. When Victor went over, Tommy even raised his ink-covered hand to show Victor.
Victor: "..."
A mischievous child wrecking a house was no less destructive than a Husky; truly a wise saying.
Victor went over and lifted him up from the sofa, "You're really quite the little ancestor."
He's more troublesome than his mommy.
Victor took little Tommy to the bathroom, stripped him bare, and bathed him.
He managed to wash off all the ink from the bathroom floor until this little black bun was cleaned white.
Once the bath was done, the cleaning staff called in by Victor had arrived too. Tommy was wearing Victor's shirt, knotted at the bottom to prevent tripping.
"Uncle, are you mad?" Tommy stood on the bed, poking his little finger, as if only now thinking about whether people might be angry.
Even having seen life's ups and downs, Victor was truly taken aback for a moment, wondering how such a small person managed to turn the house upside down.
Victor looked at the little guy pretending to be pitiful, admitting weakness was something evidently inherited from his mommy, mischievous by nature yet ever quick to relent.
"No, are you hungry? Uncle will buy you something to eat." Victor patiently patted his little head, "Doesn't your mommy spank you when you go on a rampage like this?"
Tommy seemed to have recalled something, puffed his cheeks and covered his little bum, "Spanks my bum."
Victor: "..."
It seemed like he got spanked plenty of times, destroying the home was routine. Victor considered whether to remodel the house, at least soften any sharp corners.
Perhaps raising a child isn't that difficult...
