Polly Sutton wrapped her arm around Grace Yates' shoulder as they descended the mountain together. "Even though saying this might get you punched, because I understand your nature, I know you're just looking out for me."

Sometimes Polly Sutton wondered what the point of being with Victor Parker was. They barely saw each other a few times a year and might never exchange more than a few idle words in a lifetime.
