After staying for over ten minutes, Emma Benson started missing her son and got ready to leave.
When she reached the outer office, the secretaries immediately stood up. The third secretary had arrived too, also very young, a major in her early thirties.
Emma glanced at her, then headed out.
Just then, the female major named Michelle came over and told her, "Madam, the marshal will be back in half an hour. Do you want to wait for him?"
"Half an hour?" Emma turned back, saw her nod, and then said, "Mm, better not wait, so I don't hold up your work…"
As she spoke she gave them a smile, turned and left, but she hadn't reached the elevator doors before she regretted it and doubled back.
The old butler followed at her heels, smiling without saying a word. They'd been married four years already, yet their feelings for each other grew day by day—enough to make people envious.
